Was $290 delivered at logitechshop last week.

  • I'll take one for $199 inc delivery.

shopping square probably has them for $199, but another $199 for delivery. I'd except a person to hand deliver it on their back for that price.

  • Quite frankly, personally i wouldn't get one of these or any speakers like this at all, but right now, this seems to be the best price available and if someone needs something similar right now, then someone like might be interested. These do seem to be one of the best available in this speaker category though.

    • whats wrong with speakers like this?
i got one and been using for 4 years now, and i can tell you they sound AWESOME for the price!!!!
the only limit to this speakers is only 1 optical input, not suitable if u wanna connect to multiple devices.

      • Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with speakers like this. All I'm saying is that they would not be my preferred choice. Personally i would use these speakers as my PC speakers but not for my HT. Again, nothing wrong with using them whichever way people want, that is just me personal preference.

        • Again personal preference but I too wouldn't use them in a HT setup. They're good PC speakers but what makes they sound better suited to games IMHO than movies/music. At least thats how I feel having listened to them and other logitech speakers.

For the price theyre still good.

        • I can understand ur point, and if i have a proper HT system, I too would prefer to spend some top dollars for a proper amp/speakers set, but it'll cost me at least a grand. If i only have $300 to spare, I know which one I'll go for :)
again, its a great speakers, not only for games but music and movies quite good too, but of course cant compare to expensive ones

According to their facebook, looks like logitechshop will be putting the Z5500 as one of their ebay group buying specials. They're selling 10 of them for $2,850 on ebay at the moment, so looks like each one would be $285 or possibly less.

Even if they do the deal next week, you'd receive it quicker than buying it from cotd.

yeah slow delivery :( got my delivery today 2 week i ordered it.

    • i got my stuff from logitechshop the day after i ordered as opposed to CoTD which usually takes 1 - 2 weeks.

It may be because COTD is in Melb, Logitechshop is in Syd.

Seen them for $299 quite frequently.. delivery is pretty steep. Nothing amazing but worth noting.

As for the speakers, they are great bang for buck. A mate has these setup with his home cinema projector, not too bad. Mine are on the PC - I too wouldn't run them in a HT, large floor stander's for me. But if its all about budget these are the best you could do for this price.

  • I was spoiled by my LTS's 275$ next-day-delivered z5500, so this 338.95$ two-weeks-delivered speaker definitely not a bargain for me, Btw, you can buy z5500 from MSY for 329$ (if they have stock), save 9.95$ and your waiting time.
feel so tempted to neg this.

  • Very VERY good spekaers for the price. Let's face it, they're not going to sound as good as a HT system costing a thousand dollars or more, but they're a hell of a lot better than anythign else you'd get for under 500 bucks.

  • Good to see they are "brand new", and admittedly "legendary" as they really are quite outdated now and superseded. Does not support HDMI or newer HD sound inputs.

    • They may be superseded but the replacement model pales in comparison to this model, the sound quality is shocking on its replacement….check Logitechs own site from buyers complaining that they "upgraded from the Z5500s" and are very disapointed that the quality was worse.

    • To be honest, if you're really into HT you're probably not going to be looking at these at all. But for someone like me, who searched around for a way to get better sound out of a TV + PS3 combo these worked out really well.
