  • TimTam used to be $3.50 each,
    then 2 for $4, followed by 3 for $5.
    Now it's $1.49 each.

At this rate, Aussie made TimTam will be cheaper than those made in Thailand in the near future.

Maybe they're not selling as well as they used to? Perhaps Australia is becoming more health-conscious. :P

This pleases me, though, as I feel like Arnotts uses really low-quality ingredients in a lot of their products.

Last week, it was Large Australian Green King Prawns 1kg, $12.88 (Save $7)
This week, it is Large Australian Green King Prawns 1kg, $15.99 (Save $10)

    Ummm… ok??

    • Interesting observation!

I guess we need a prawnwatch site. :)

get jv to. he was keen to make a site for that CPA tax lodger the other day..

I think you read the catalogue incorrectly.

Last week it was BANANA prawns, this week it is KING prawns.
      Banana prawns are generally cheaper.

  • +1

I bought the prawns last week, 99% sure the sign said Green King and not Banana Prawns.
Although the prices of fish, veg etc are always just made up anyhow, so I take no notice of
% off, just buy if it seems a good price and if they are big prawns then $16 is pretty good.

    • true, lots of places do specials on prawns around $15 mark

    • +2

I can see why people get confused,
Last week: Large Australian Green BANANA Prawns
This Week: Large Australian Green KING Prawns

Worthy of a mention is the back page of the new Woolies catalogue…they're fixing the price of certain groceries for the next year..$4.98/kg for Truss tomatoes! Anyone who does the grocery shopping will know the price of tomatoes has skyrocketed the last few months and $4.98/kg is an ABSOLUTE BARGAIN. Can't really find anywhere cheaper. Good on ya, Woolies.

      fixed prices …

i got my big red apples from local fruit shop for $0.99/kg two weeks back. this week i've been stocking up on $0.99/kg mandarins from fruit shop. mmmm.

      • Me, too. I always buy fruit/veg. at the greengrocers, except when the Woolies greengrocer brings out the clearance trolley, for $3 per bag for all you can fit in the bag. Love that- I get such good value:)

        • the bags are $2 at the woolies where i've encountered them :)

        • Haha yeah once I stuffed 2kg of bananas and more into one such bag. All for just $4.

I would buy fruit and veg from the local fruit shop but Woolies continually undercut them long enough for them to have to close. Funny that.

    • I'm sure a lot of people will be saying 'goodbye local greengrocer, hello corporate giant!' after this.

I'll stick to the greengrocer. If all those greengrocers close (less competition), what's to stop Woolies charging whatever they want?

Coles/Woolworths already get 23% of every dollar we spend and they share 70% of the Australian market (far more than overseas countries) - http://hungrybeast.abc.net.au/stories/beast-file-woolies-col…

  • why not mentioned the new Gillette shaver, as half price?

  • The pedigree dog food. $10 for 10 seems like a pretty good deal

  • Was in Woolworths at Corinda, Brisbane, today. They had organic pumpkin for $1.99 a kilo, and regular pumpkin for $2.99 a kilo. Good deal on the organic. :)

  • pepsi 24 for $10 is a great price. much better than shelling out rediculous price for Coke. Coke is good, but not that much better to justify such a huge cost!!
