Expect a very tiny portion for $5 if it's the same as the grand opening offer at the Pappa Rich express at Southern Cross station. Long Queue too!

Good idea to find out rather than make assumptions. Report from a satisfied Ozbargainer - portion size looks normal to me

Very good to know, but likely too late for lunch today in the Eastern States.

I don't mind the small portion size.
It barely resembles Nasi Lemak at all.
Even uneducated Malaysian Uncles from the most backwater Kampongs of Malaysia can cook a better Nasi Lemak that these guys.

I’ve tried their Nasi Lemak it’s legit. Not a good value proposition but it’s legit.
The most popular joint in Malaysia (Village Park) uses lemongrass coated fried chicken, sweet sambal and basmati. I’ve never heard of anyone saying the Nasi Lemak they sell isn’t Nasi Lemak because they don’t resemble roadside Nasi Lemak Bungkus.
Going by that’s logic, Nasi lemak served on a plate would barely resemble Nasi Lemak too.
True, but we're not in Malaysia to enjoy the real thing ;-(
And everywhere there - it is different. That's one of the pleasures of Malaysia.
So for now, this will do for $5
Expect a very tiny portion for $5
Bought. Same size as shown on menu - full size meal. Biggest Nasi Lemak I've eaten! And I've eaten a lot in Malaysia.

100 dishes per store* x number of stores x 3 days of promotion
How is that Not really a deal or stock are so limited??
Only requires 10 across Australia to be a Deal.*Upper limit of 100 offered per store.
(eg If 50 people order in a store - 50 served, so can't be maximum offered of 100)- -4 votes
The guy above says 100 combined, if it's per store then it's a deal.
That's what the Deal said (that's what counts) - 100 offered per store x 3 days.
You chose to believe someone being negged for not reading the Deal? Always best to read the Deal!
And 1 person is already in the Penalty Box for Hate Speech…

It's not "tomorrow it's "today." Today is the 16th of September.

You are correct! Malaysia Day is today!
🇲🇾Happy Malaysia Day🇲🇾What are you tempura - thinking I'm Singaporean??
And why does my country of origin matter to you?? It's none of your business. It has nothing to do with this Deal.
1 person is already in the Penalty Box for racist comments & Hate Speech in this Deal. Mods are keeping a watch.
No need to mention a person's nationality or race to discuss a Deal!
You are a very strange & worrying person! As others have said - You're just a troll!
So I've now hidden your useless comments.Enjoy your 17 neg votes in this Deal! You seem to enjoy them.
As for being Singaporean - Nothing wrong with that of course! Was just wishing my Malaysian friends a Happy Malaysia Day in this popular Malaysia Day Deal, from this Aussie😊
When I told 2 Singaporeans at the next table I was being referred to as "Singaporean" - I asked is that an insult or a compliment. "A compliment of course!"😉 They were surprised anyone would mistake me for a Singaporean!
Unfortunately I have been subjected multiple racial abuse in deals here (almost immediately taken down by Mods), based on my presumed but incorrect nationality - as a Singaporean!
Just shows how stupid some OzBargain comments are!
I quite like Singaporeans😊- -1 vote
@Infidel: are we still going on about this? do Malaysians, Singaporeans, Thais, Indonesian matter that much to you?

just got one from 360 Collins. queue was 5 people long. portion size looks normal to me. they do takeaway no problem.
can i check if you eaten in Papparich in the past? just to confirm you know what is normal portion …
yes, thought I am a Nasi Goreng takeaway customer 99% of the time.

@tempura: I don't think my grazing habits are contributing much to this conversation. it's literally next to the office, alright. I've had much nicer nasi gorengs, yes. who cares?
It says right in the item description…
'Offer is for dine-in only (This does not apply for Express stores)'
- +1 vote
I interpret that as dine-in only for other stores, take away available for Express as it said "Offer is available in all PappaRich Australia stores". Should put exclusions there in the first place!
Yeah, was just about to ask the same question. Thanks for clarifying.
Same experience here. I left a message on their fb page. The staff said they received an email that they were not participating.
so considering that Westfield Sydney is not participating, then those in Sydney CBD will have to go to Broadway to get a miniature nasi lemak, which essentially cost $7.90 along with the Opal cost. and considering that it's in Broadway, then you be competing with those UTS and * Syd U* students … and you know you won't win …

Or they just miss out, like everyone else not near a store.

360 Collins PR happily does them takeaway
portion size looks normal to meI brought my lunch today, but I wouldn't be a true ozbargainer if it isn't going to become my dinner tonight on account of this deal here
Miss those old days using Mealpal to order $6.9 Nasi Lamak @Paparich Express every each noon for lunch xD
(Mealpal changed and they have tricky cancellation procedures so I quit)Pity I already had lunch or I would have joined you @Garden City😉
Oh well, there are 2 more lunches to go!
Went to pappa rich at Westfield, and was told they are a express and not participating, despite te showing the T&C to them.

despite te showing the T&C to them
this is how you went wrong … the T&C states that Express shops are not participating in Malaysia's Day Promo.

The T&C's state "Offer is for dine-in only (This does not apply for Express stores)".
As this point is only for this item, I have interpreted this as take away is available for express stores with the dine-in condition not applicable, and is indeed the case by the others who were offered takeaway at express stores.
In addition, this point is under: Offer is available in all PappaRich Australia stores on the 16th - 18th September 2019 from 12pm - 2.30pm, while stocks last with no other conditions for this point.
Full size and damn good at Westfield Doncaster!
Choice of chicken curry or fried chicken.

Just got mine at Southern Cross express store. Can do either dine in our takeaway
pledge your case by calling their HQ; i would love you to win your case.

Did you find that the chicken looked a bit undercooked? I just had mine at SC too and the chicken was rather pink under the curry sauce. I know pink doesn't always mean undercooked but I got slightly worried when I saw that it was thoroughly pink… but only after I'd almost finished.
good to know I wasn't the only one with undercooked curry chicken.
The thinner pieces were fine but I had a thicker piece that was pink. Showed the waitress and it seems to be a common problem cos she didnt bother looking at it and gave me another piece, which was cooked.

This franchise seem to be on the decline here. A few have closed down near my area. Heard that the franchisee's aren't too happy with the company and the costs of buying the ingredients from them. The Chadstone one tastes horrible now since the renovation. Getting so expensive now for what it is. If only it was like hawker pricing in Malaysia :) This company hasn't done well in Malaysia either, due to pricing for the more upmarket crowd and not tasting any better.
You have no idea how rent works. Most rental contracts have CPI indexing. Therefore costs go up. That in itself will push most business out of business if you don't grow volume. Don't forget your floor space doesn't increase year on year due to inflation.
I am running an under ground betting ring on when mains will hit $50.
