    Is this a xiaomi clone?

    • our design is similar to it.

      • Similar as in same but different logo?

Similar in looks but not in quality. This teardown reveals how unsafe your product is.

Across a slot in the circuit board there must be 4mm between mains and low volt side, here it is around 2.5mm.
On a circuit board the distance must be above 6mm, here is about 2mm!
The charger passed the 2830 volt test and failed 4242 volt test between mains and low volt side, this makes it unsafe in 230VAC countries.

        • tl;dr
          Conclusion
This is not a good USB charger, the output power is only enough for one device and the design it not very safe.
As a power strip it can be used, but it is not good for high power devices, the switch is too weak and the cable slightly thin, except the earth connection that is very thin.

The switch looked like it might have some sort of overload cutout, but testing with 25A did not activate it, instead it damaged the switch.

A look at the cable, the earth wire is very thin compared to the live/neutral wires.

yep, when compared to the Xiaomi which is only a few bucks more when deals popup, you'd be crazy to buy this over that one

@SBOB: Yeah the Xiaomi is miles ahead. This IGUGIG power board is nothing but a crappy unsafe product.

        • Thanks for the teardown. I had almost bought one then had my doubt and checked the review.

        • Thanks for saving my home

      • No, it is exactly the same, to the most minute detail. You copied their design, in the hope to deceive people. It's called counterfeiting.
That, plus the inconsistencies in your reported USB amperage (is it 2A, 2.4A or 2.1A?) and the safety issues means this shouldn't be posted here.

        • shouldn't be posted here

It shouldn't be posted at all lol

Glad Untill he saw that tear down review…

People post about 'what about certification', 'what about if your house burns down' etc etcon the Xiaomi power board, which based on its build quality, I'm happy to take those 'risks' and have several of those boards

This one, based on the tear down, is just plain unsafe

  • UNSAFE. DO NOT PASS GO. DO NOT COLLECT $200.

  • Bought one from last deal
Bad build quality looks n feels n built cheaply..
It came in box n all but looks like been used with marks everywhere (second hand) like somerhing u get at garage sales or trash n treasure markets. i got xiaomi one built, looks n quality is way beyond this brand..

  • Purchased from Amazon and in process to return it

  • Oh dear oh dear oh dear

  • ok lets wait for better deal

  • Have a look at the 3-pronged plug - this is not to current AS. The prongs normally have an insulation barrier. Don’t believe me? Check all your appliances (unless it was manufactured pre-1980s).

    • Chinese standard uninsulated prongs in themselves are not dangerous.

It’s the bits and pieces in the board itself that are more of a concern.

  • Thanks for the tear down link! Confirms it's not just a clone but a poor one.

Xiaomi I am willing to take the "insurance risk" for because of the build quality, not this!
