So who has Visa Infinite and Visa Signature cards and what are the fees?
More than a few ozbargainers would have the fee free Citibank signature from a few years back perhaps.
Citi bank canceled my fee-free signature card. I had $8 there. They posted me a cheque and cancelled my card without warning. I asked then to reinstate the card but they did not.
wow ive never heard of them cancelling it. Did they say why? Did you not use the card for long periods or something?
Maybe you didn't use it for over a year?
@bluedufflecoat: I had a balance of $8 in it and they posted me a cheque with it. I had not used it for a while. the reson they gave me was inactivity.
Standard yearly fees for Visa Signature or Visa Infinite Cards depend on the bank issuing the credit card and range from around $279/year (St George Amplify Signature Visa) to $700/year (Citibank Prestige Visa Infinite Card).
There are a few deals posted here from time to time where you can get the 1st year fee waived or reduced with bonus points as well on these cards.

If it’s only for a one-off trip, you’re probably better off buying Hilton Diamond off ebay. Cheaper & more benefits (well at selected Hiltons, Garden inn ones don’t care, you’re just a pleb, Doubletree OTOH you are treated very well)

Nah. They just status match a fake equivalent at say the Sheraton on your behalf.

Even to qualify this gold, I found out it's more expensive to qualify for 4 nights than 2x 1 night.@11CENTS: I paid $120 on ebay (it was $150, and i just offered $120, but next time I'll try $100) they just dodgey up an equivalent diamond status with another hotel chain and submit a status match on your behalf. You get it for 2mths and them have to stay so many trips to keep it.
We stayed in a doubetree and because we had diamond, they upgraded us to exec level, got club room access, and basically fawned over us whilst there (the missus was v.impressed) so IMHO it was worth it. We also stayed in a garden inn and they didn't care, because Hilton Status isn't really recognised there
But if gold level suits And you're doing multiple trips, then maybe a credit card would be handy.

I just got my Hilton Gold status with the previous Hilton Honors Gold Status sign up using St George Amplify Signature card. The 2 stays was easy to achieve, local Hilton chain hotel costing $100p/n and $160p/n.
I have emailed Hilton several times and what I gather, that as long as I continue to have my St George Amplify Signature card, my Hilton Gold status will not expire. I don't need to achieve the 20 stays per year. This is good especially for those who has the free Citi Signature card few years ago.
I am not sure if I am going to keep my St George Signature card which will cost me $279 to renew. Might not be worth it as I don't often stay in Hilton chain. Better off for me to cancel the card and open another with bonus sign up.

Clicking on the link and accepting the 3 consents, the next page says 'Please enter the 16 digits of your Visa credit card number for verification' but there's no box to input the info, just the dark blue background. Tried 3 different browsers.Once you've registered successfully, do you actually need to charge the stay to the eligible VISA card, or does it not matter?
Don’t think it matters. My work paid for my stay that qualified for gold.
