My first post, hope it is useful to someone.

  • +1

Pretty good price. Anyone know if it's just for that store or would others have it?

  • +2

Thanks for the post..But they Taste Horrible

  • +3

Good prices. I personally enjoy both Cherry Coke and Dr Pepper. You generally pay around $3 per can at Nutshack and USA sort of stores. I'm pretty sure you can get Dr Pepper everyday at Costco for about $30 per slab.

  • +3

Anyone know if these are the actual american imports? Might be weird but I love the Australian version of cherry coke but I can't stand the american. (yes there is a difference)

    • I think you're right. I got a box from USAFoods store of the American import, and they definitely didn't taste like the Australian ones used to taste.

  • +2

I got a case of cherry coke from this place last week, its UK recipe cherry coke (so sugar as a sweetener rather than high fructose corn syrup). Its a much cleaner taste IMO. Basically the same as Aussie cherry coke :)

Dr Pepper is the greatest Soft Drink in the world, people who think it tastes like Medicine tell me, what sort of Medicine have you been taking? Because I want some!

    • +25

someone also mentioned it taste like ass. you want some of that too? lol

      • +6

Can't say I know what arse tastes like, unlike the person who said it.

    • +2

i believe it was some sort of (cherry) or berry flavoured cough syrup from back when i was a kid (that being the 90s). I always loved that stuff…tasted so good. then my parents introduced me to Dr.Pepper and Root Beer . and then cherry coke came out. those were the good days

  • +5

Is this available at any other IGAs?
I'm surprised at the amount of people that click through these Dr. Pepper deals just to inform us that they apparently taste like ass/medicine/horrible… Thanks for your valuable input. :)

You're probably looking for places in Sydney, etc, but for the interested, Riverside Gardens IGA in Townsville has 12 packs for $21 (and cheaper, sometimes) - so that's pretty reasonable per can. Certainly beats $3.80+ each elsewhere around Townsville.

      • I'd say he's looking for Perth, considering he (or she) lives there.

      • Called riverside gardens store today and they reckoned they only had 10 can packs for $28?

    • If you're looking for stores in Sydney, I know that those large asian grocery markets Usually have them. There is IGA at the bottom of Market City which is actually half an asian grocery (I've seen it there from memory)…And there is a large asian grocery next to coles in liverpool where I've seen them as well. Not sure if theyre cheaper/as cheap though hope it helps if you're desperately trying to source them out

    Loving USA

Its True, DR. Pepper tastes like medicine.

Great price. I have a carton of Dr Pepper and Cherry Dr Pepper right here :) In Newcastle we pay about $1.80 per can.
If you've only ever had 1 drink and hated it, you're like most people. You need to have a couple. By my 3rd bottle within a 1 week period, I was sold.
    My favourite drink by far!!!!

    • $26 for 12?? That aint cheap!!
The current box of 12 I have cost me $20.
I used to ship them from Melbourne for a similar price from USAfoods.com.au (I think)
(As mentioned by the poster below!!) :p

    • Hahaha! Nice spam there buddy..!

  • There's always this joint too

    http://www.usafoods.com.au/

In Melbourne but they have a big online selection too.
Dr Pepper $2 per can/$18 per 12 pack

    • Watch out if you're trying to ship from them, they'll bait-and-switch you by quoting cheap and charging expensive. I only ever buy when the shipping is free. Managed to get 48 cans of Dublin Dr Pepper (the best, imho!) for $60 delivered to Townsville. No idea how much the freight must have been, but made the cans darn cheap.

      • USAFoods' shipping estimate goes via Australia post, The estimated weight (before packaging) and is calculated with the distance and estimated size of the box. They pack everything carefully with the appropriate amount of bubble wrap making sure everything is secured so it doesn't break, which can add to the weight, unless you like your items broken?

    Misleading… Title should read "$1.49 a can or $28.99 a case ($1.20/can)" or similar

  • +2

    Love Cherry Coke!

  • I hated Dr Pepper when I tried a can when I was little (back when I assume it was more available in Australia). I hated it.

This year I had one just to see what all the fuss is about. It tasted to me like coke with a few more spices thrown in. I didn't hate it but I don't understand why people love it. If you enjoy then that's ok, I guess :)

  • +1

Dr. Pepper is awesome, but if you are like my brother and had it when you were older than 10, than you might not get the acquired taste buds to appreciate it. I was practically weaned on Dr Pepper and pop tarts, so pos for me even though I'm in ACT

  • +1

Speaking of Cherry Coke, why did Australian supermarkets stop selling them???

    • From wiki page

It is no longer bottled in these countries, apparently due to poor sales

    • Because of people like motlking, nicksnoobie and mr_vino89.

  • really they should be able to get the slab cost way cheaper even factoring in import costs etc. I would be willing to pay about $20 a slab

I love Dr Pepper, and i really hope they bring it back to the aussie market again someday

    • I believe Pepsico owns the rights due to Coca Cola being blocked due to competition laws, seems like the only reasonable reason why they owned the rights here when Coke own it everywhere else in the world. Pepsi seem to daft to bring it back.

  • Cherry Coke = E-Mycin and E.E.S (antibiotic mixtures; cherry flavour, the worst tasting)

    • my favourite flavour though

  • Would anyone be keen to buy me a 24 slab of Cherry Coke and mail it to me in SA? :) I have Paypal!!

    • +2

I'm pretty sure postage on about 8-10kg would be a killer

      edit:
$22.55 from Sydney to Adelaide assuming 10kg weight

  • +2

I don't get the people who go around giving negatives to people who don't like Dr Pepper.

    • +5

Probably as it has no relevance to the bargain? We're after opinions on the bargain posted, not someone's personal taste preferences, you'd leave that for Facebook or Twitter updates ;)

  • dayum… anybody know cheap places for doc pepper in Brisbane?

    • ditto >_<

  • For anybody in Wollongong, the Country Grocer in Unanderra has slabs of Dr Pepper for about the same price.

  • +2

Anyone know any cheap places to pick up Dr P or Cherry C in Canberra? I know IGA does it by the can, but still expensive. Annoyed that I read this bargain last night, just after I got back from Sydney :(

As for the taste, the first time I had Dr P I spat it out. At the time my friends and I were all unemployed but one of the guys kept buying it and trying to convince us to drink it. Well, you don't knock back free soda when you are skint so we drink it and thus the taste was acquired. Personally, I find it much more refreshing than Coke/Pepsi, especially when ice cold.

  • Doonside.. just for Dr pepper……..

thats a long distance.. i mean to give you an idea that is like the other side of sydney.. takes me 40 minutes and about an hr from the city..
regardless if you love Dr Pepper that much.. guess it is a great bargain

    • And here I thought Doonside was in Melbourne, lol

  • Darn, I miss Cherry Coke it was a great mixer.

  • Just called and No Diet Dr Pepper.. Oh well I will continue to pay $3 a can I guess…

    • +1

$3? They're ripping you bad, if your ever in USA, cherry dr pepper is nice

      • +1

RIPPED hard but what do you do.. I have to have diet (diabetic).. they also sell the cherry dr pepper in king st wharf cnr store..

  • If anyone lives on the Central Coast NSW like me and don't want to travel to Sydney I found the big grocery market at the end of Tuggerah Westfield Shopping Centre also sell both. I think Dr Pepper was $1.50/can and I forget how much Cherry Coke was. Prices a bit higher but you don't have to drive to Sydney for them. That also have other drinks that I didn't recognise (all USA imports)

Its on the top floor, first store inside the shops at the F3 Freeway end. And next door has Stirfry Chicken & Rice meals for $5.95 to compliment your drink :D

    http://www.theprofessors.com.au/categories/Beverages/
This place has free shipping on orders over $80. Not sure how the rates are on orders under $80.
I have used them before and they post really quickly(at least in the 2 orders I've had). 2-3 days from Sydney to Townsville and the boxes were full of drinks so they were heavy.

Just don't clean out all the Mountain Dew White Out on me : )

    • Awesome!!!

Any DR PEPPER slabs in SA, that I can buy locally, preferrably around the CBD?

      • You can get it at my local IGA in Brooklyn Park, 5 mins outta the city for around $23 for a 12 pack :)

  • Brilliant forst post, btw… You have made some pepper addicts very happy

    • +1 what he said

  • anyone know re inner city sydney?

  • Love Dr. Pepper, tastes great! My favorite drink by far!

  • Great first post. +
This stuff tastes worse than medicine - - -
Kids love it for some reason +++
Have not wanted to buy a pallet load to get a good bargain, so this looks good ++

  • Just went and bought a case.
It is nearly out of date though, the best before date is the 20th of this month.

    • +1
