  • So week 1 ends 6th Oct. Will that mean…

    • Week 2 = 7th to 13th
    • Week 3 = 14th to 20th
    • Week 4 = 21st to 27th

    ?

    • Yes I checked my email.

      • Thanks. I think their weekly catalogue prices change on Thursdays (well, wed night really - very annoying how they rip down all the tags which haven't expired while you're standing there looking at prices). So their catalogue changes on Thursdays(?) but the promotion 'week' changes on Mondays.

        • All Coles and Woolies catalogues end on Tuesdays.
          "This week's catalogue
          Commencing Wednesday 2 October
Offers valid to Tue 8 Oct 2019"
Yes I had this problem. Was shopping around 6pm on Tuesday and saw goods on display with sale tags grabbed some and when checking out realised they were not actually reduced as the sale had not started. Continued to purchase as needed to reach a certain sum to get xxx points. Now I know I can return them and the $$ refunded will not reduce the sum of my purchase and I will still get the points.

          • +1

@Yola: My local WW also takes the tags down early. But I think they honor the new price tags they put up a day early too.

  • I miss the variety of vouchers we had before. Used to look forward to trading points for JB HiFi vouchers each Christmas time. Although the same value Having $s off shopping at Coles just doesn’t have the same feeling.

    • +1

I wait for the bonus transfer to velocity :)

      • I have not looked into Velocity as yet. Do you find this really worthwhile?

        • How do you trade points for JB HiFi voucher?
Like 2000 points gives $10 JB HiFi voucher?
Also why do you think the same discount at Coles is not worth?

  • Has anyone received their 10,000 points?

My 4x week spend amount to qualify was $50. And the Coles terms and conditions (linked at the top of this deal) state "BONUS POINTS will be loaded to your account after your week 4 qualifying shop."

    Well…

    • Week 1 = 27th Sep to 06th Oct. On 01-Oct I spent $108
    • Week 2 = 07th Oct to 13th Oct. On 08-Oct I spent $82
    • Week 3 = 14th Oct to 20th Oct. On 18-Oct I spent $175
    • Week 4 = 21st Oct to 27th Oct. On 23-Oct I spent $73

The Flybuys app updated on the 23rd to show I earned 72 points from week 4's shop. So obviously the points have updated, but I haven't received my 10,000 points.

    • Got my 10,000 at the same time as the 4th week points as normal.

If you didn’t buy anything that’s excluded ie. giftcards contact flybuys.

    • Received the 10k points on the 23rd. My final shop was on the 15th.

      • What's that… 8 days gap. So my week 4 shop on the 23rd + 8 days = 31st I should have the 10,000 points. Ok, thanks.

        • May not take as long.

          • @Yola: Oh, yeah - look at that…!? [Edit: The post just below.]

            • Week 3 = 14th to 20th Oct
            • Week 4 = 21th to 27th Oct

Maybe you had a bunch of bonus points, and only thought they were the 10,000 - so you need to go and shop NOW to get your 10k!?

Actually, the flybuys phone app will show what's up.

            • @GregMonarch: Thank you for your concern. I actually did the final week shop on 22.10 but the amount was added to the Coles Mastercard purchase I made on the same day. I did not recognise it as a grocery shop as I was looking for a $50 purchase. So all good.

      • +1

How can your final shop be on the 15th? That's week 3.

    • Even though I selected points, I got $50 off on next shop. It showed in my last receipt from Coles shoppping.

    • A friendly tip….

When shopping stop scanning as soon as you reach $50, pay for the shopping, then use another Flybuys card for the remaining shopping and pay for that.

If you look like you spend a minimum of $73 per week your next offer will be for $80 per week to encourage you to spend just that little bit more each week but spend $50 per week and it might stay at $50 per week.

      • +1

Yep I saw that somewhere recently. It might have been you… Someone said to spend less than 5% over I think it was.

      • +1

        Yes I also do this.

  • What is most annoying is we spent $200 on Saturday to find a notice we must spend another $160 before the next Wednesday to qualify for first week of some decent points! As if they couldn't have taken Saturday's spend into account.

    • +1

I kept getting emails to spend $xx although I'd already shopped and qualified each week. I know, because some of those examples I listed above were only one of two or three shops over the minimum amount in the same week, because they were confusing me with the emails. So I kept going back and buying more things I can store, freeze, etc. to make sure I qualified. So are you sure they're saying to shop again? (Install the Flybuys phone app if you haven't already… it will show the points and spend history.)

      • I cancelled and then opened new Flybuys account recently, as this was the only way to break with a family group of connected Flybuys accounts. We did receive the previous 10,000 points mid-September, on the old account first.

The new account did receive some encouraging extra points we did take advantage of, but I did not have the FlyBuys app on the mobile home screen. Not absolutely certain I had activated anything, although I thought I had. 7,000 points accrued on the new account so far, but I don't tend to check accuracy unless 10,000 on offer.

Yes, the shop again message came through less than 24hour of the big $200+ shop. I just reloaded the app and checked today and activated everything available!

One offer said spend another $130 by today for 2,000 points. Another said spend $160 between Wednesday and Friday this week for 2,500 points. (Different to what the previous email said. But anyways, no way would we be spending anywhere near $160 this week now.) Yet another offer said 4,000 points if I spend $120 a week for 2 weeks, but I have to qualify for 1st week, by this Sunday, to do that. Again all very unlikely. (I even activated the Messy Monkeys offer!)

My opinion is that if we swipe our Flybuys cards we shouldn't have to activate anything. I'd far rather the little notes on the receipts reminding us we have qualified etc., rather than having to check the app so often. Would far prefer the smaller shops in a week accrued to qualify for the "weekly" shop total too!

  • +1

Unbelievable… Flybuys is now telling me it didn't activate. I clicked the email to activate this in week 1, and showed 'activated'. Then another email arrived about the same offer - so I clicked it again just in case - and it showed: 'already activated'. Now they're telling me it didn't activate so I don't get the 10k points!!! They've said they'll get someone to look at it and to wait a week. [Sigh!]

    • Good luck with this; I expect them to follow through in your favour. Yes, I have noticed sometimes you know you have already activated, to then receive messages to REMIND you to activate, to check app to find the app says already activated. Maybe take screen shots of them in the future as proof?

      • +1

        Oh, I will be, thanks.

She actually asked if I had screenshots, or I should send her: "Emails showing you activated the offer." I'm like… Huh!? "We don't receive emails saying an offer has been activated. We just receive an email with a button we click, the web browser opens and says 'you've activated', and we go shopping."

She asked for 'emails from Coles showing you activated the offer' three times, as if repeating it would somehow change the fact Coles doesn't send any, LOL.

        • +2

Yes I always take screen shots of all offers I activate. However I have never had a problem where I had to use them. Once I did not receive the 10,000 points but the receipt had said congratulations for the first 2 weeks and then not on the last 2, so it had definitely activated. I called them and the operator said he could not understand why I did not get the points but had to escalate it to get a manual fix. It was done in 1 week. The only difference was that I had also purchased a Coles Mastercard on the 3rd week. But then I also did that during this promotion and got the points automatically.

          • +2

@Yola: Now you mention it, I think my first couple of receipts showed something like that. By week four I just tossed them out though because I shopped about 3 times the first week, just in case - so I had receipts all over my desk.

I bought that Mastercard discount too. But it was 1x $100 card, so it wasn't week 4 (or didn't show up on Flybuys), or week 3. It was week 3, I'm still over the spend requirement after subtracting that $100.

I should check if they've done anything about it yet.
