Just spoke with STA, this price is only available for students and teachers. Adelaide-London is from $929 for all others.

    • Definitely out of Melbourne is ok, though had to go mid-week as Friday was full on that price.
Cause I was under 30 they said it was cool and didn't need to be a student!
No sure how many Velocity points you get but suppose it's a bonus.

Argh. Should have known that as it's STA Travel :( Thanks for checking it up. Usually their specials only apply to

      • Students
      • Youth (under 30)
      • Teachers
      • Now I’ve got STA emailing me trying to flog $929 tickets to London. Noooo! 😜

    • What about people under 30?

They are generally 29 years old or younger.

STA: only for students and teachers

  • If you're a student teacher can you get 2 for the price of 1 ?

If your a teaching student can you get 1 for the price of 2?

So only available to students and teachers… during non-holiday periods. Smartasses.

    • It's not only for students but even if it was, large numbers take time off for travelling (hence the existence of the Student Travel Australia!).

  • Do concession ticket holders have to give up their seats when requested?

    • Yes for the elderly, frail or pregnant. It’s the law.

    • No. Not on an airline. The concession is the price of the ticket but not all passengers receive the same in flight experience.
All seats are assigned prior to flying. Elderly, frail or pregnant people may need a letter from their doctor giving them permission to fly. If they are permitted it's assumed they can sit in any seat. This is all sorted well before a flight takes off.

  • Scotty, anything for Sydney?
