    What about return?

  • Singapore stopover?

  • yeah, how much return?

  • Good deal if there are a decent amount of tickets available.. and if you can get the same price on the return leg.
Also, if its anything like their over crazy sales.. the website will crash and you won't be able to get on until the sale is over LOL

    • Should be given it's a new route… they'll be trying to just get it up to capacity won't they?

That said, you're mostly right about the crash front… going veeerrryy slowly right about now!

  • Well deal is 'not currently active' so details are vague. No idea how much return is but you must note that checked on baggage is extra.

  • i got a $170 one way to bangkok with jetstar in november

    • and how much did it cost you to get back? total cost all up?

  • -1

Is Jetstar a good airline though? I thought they use old planes and alot of people dont fly with them

    • -2

I think you must mix them up with tiger. Jetstar is owned by Qantas and has a great track record/reputation.

      • Jetstar is heaps better than Tiger. I've been flying Jetstar for years and for the price I paid, I have no complaint. Cheap and reasonably good service.

        • but then tiger is owned by singapore airlines. look where they ended up

        • +1

Tiger Airways Australia is owned as thus:

          http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Airways_Holdings

          Singapore Airlines Limited (32.9%)
The Capital Group Companies Inc. 8.1%
          Dahlia Investments Pte Ltd 7.4%
          Schroder Investment Management Group 5.05%

Singapore Airlines owns slightly less than one third.

        • Just out of curiosity, have you ever flown Tiger?

    • +3

Jetstar's fleet is very new. Averages 4.1 years across the whole airline.

      http://www.airfleets.net/ageflotte/Jetstar.htm

      • +1

+1, most of the LCC's use very new fleets in order to minimise maintenance.

  • Anyone know when there will be a sale to Japan? Need one for December.

    • I recommend using adioso.com.au to search for cheap flights or to set up an alert if prices drop to a certain level (determined by you).

  • I wonder if I'll be able to get a cheap ticket within the promo to fly from Singapore to Beijing since I'll already be in the area? What's the chances of that lol

  • Return fare is $111.19

    • +1

but the travel time is 25hrs+ when back from Beijing!!!???
      I didn't book because of that…..

      • 15hr stopover in Singapore?

        • I don't really know if you can leave the airport with the ticket?
If so, it's a good travel in Singapore for a day! If not, it will be sitting in Airport for the 15 hrs!?
It doesn't mention it at all.

        • +1

You're free to leave the airport even with such a short stopover. I once exited Changi to have a look at the city for just 5 hours.

        • Singapore Airport is one of the best for long stopovers. You can use the airport hotel with direct transfer to and from or the city bus tour or take a swim or just wander around.

  • Just plugged in Melbourne to Beijing return (Out April 24 - In May 8) and it came to $233 without baggage. +$66 it hit $326 return. Not bad.

    • I've been playing with the site for a while and every date combination in the sale period I tried returned around $480 to $499 one way.

  • they scewed up my checkout upon payment. Don't even know if I got my fares, sigh

    • They stuffed mine at payment also. I have raised a complaint, I don't know how you get seats "assigned" to you and then not be able to pay. Not that Jetstar seemed to care.

  • All gone :(

    • May 8 and 9 from China is still available. Nothing else.

  • $652 Return for 2 people…NICE

  • All gone

  • Damn you ozbargain!! You informed too many people :-P bout to book and they are all gone :-( you can get a cheap leg there or back not both now, oh well. I still need my flights to japan for the start of next year, just thought I'd go to china as well lol.

    • Yup all gone after just 25 minutes, impossible to get a return trip at those prices anymore. Would have been $270 return according to the website, lucky those who got it.

  • May is still good.. lots of dates available. I've got Depart May 1st return 10th for 260.
I already went last year so i'm not intersted.

  • Get a ticket to Beijing later for $299 each way lols, should be around for quite a whilte. About the same as return sale ticket to Japan, but even that didn't disappear, I recall by end of sale, plenty of ticks were still available

    • Why would u do that when you can get a RETURN ticket for less than that now?

  • Ni hao ma (hello)

Departing flight fare has gone to $499.00. Returning flight is still on the offer.

Booked already.. I may be the last person to book offer for 4 adults and one child.

Whoo hoo.. can't wait to eat eat eat and eat more wrapped Peking Duck Rolls every day and night.

    Zai Jian (bye)

    • ni hao ma = how are you

  • Any word on when they're going to announce Sydney - Shanghai? I see it's a booking option, but no dates are available as yet.

I'm hanging out for that one.

    • +2

we are on same boat now. hope soon we can be on same flight to/from shanghai from/to sydney. lol

  • Actually adding food plus credit card fees and etc brings it up to $400 each. Plus my flight from Sydney to Mel. Wonder whether it is still worth while then.

  • -1

    seould out

and yes i know where it is

    • noob

  • Can't see any flights for $299 as yet. Looks like i might be flying airasia again.

    • +1

there are 299 flights make sure you are checking for rite travel period…
      24 Nov - 13 Dec 2011
      14 Feb - 7 Mar 2012

      Eg. I can see 299 MEL-Beijing on 22 Feb
and Beijing - MEL on 1 March for 261.19

      • Thanks i see those dates but i'm looking to fly in november and the prices didn't change at all.

        • It doesn't let me fly from Beijing-Melbourne (ONE WAY)?? Don't need the ticket there!

        • The sale is only uni-directional sukiya, that's how they make their money. I just got a ticket to beijing for $340 all inclusive end of November(+$20 credit card booking charge which is balls). Was planning to go there already so definitely a good price.

  • awesome deal - got sub $350 return (inc 20kgs luggage each way) :)

  • What does subject to regulatory approval mean? Does the route still need to be approved by the competition regulator or something?

    • +1

Probably more likely the chinese aviation regulatory body. It's unlikely jetstar would start selling flights if it wasn't very confident that it would gain approval.

  • Got my return ticket ONLY from BEIJING - MELB, they updated the system, it is now possible ;)
$650 for two, one way home from BEIJING - SG - MELB, including baggage check-in, comfort blabla!
I know it's not as good as the $149 deal earlier with baggage tax etc but I only needed a return ticket for Feb 17th so this fit in our sched perfectly!

    • +1

      but no positive? o_0

  • Singapore airport has great FREE short trips to city.
Was there on business Last year and departing flight delayed, so I stumbled upon free trip desk at arrival area. Different suggested trips depending on transit time, 3hr, 5hr, 7hr. Include free things like tour guide, free return bus ticket, some free entrance tickets, maps, some free food vouchers, discount vouchers, etc.

  • question for a virgin traverler (LoL)
did these prices include taxes? no where does it say anything about taxes
so i'm just wondering if it was as good a deal as the promotional page made out?

  • -3

$600 return sounds good on the surface, but when you realise that it is 15 hrs to get there & 25hrs to return it's not such a good deal.
There are more direct flights for just over $800 with other carriers. So personally I'd pay more than $200 to save 12 hours extra on a plane / in transit
    I like my sleep :)

    • Personally, I prefer to save $200, but I won't vote based on my own personal situation….. that would be inappropriate.

    • Compare the 300 return (which is what this deal is mainly focused on) rather then $600 figure.
