Please bother to post if you really come up with a bargain not merely an advertisement.

Hi mods, why all the revoked negs?

  • +2

Groupon has this deal regularly for $799-900 AU!

  • Also really dangerous.
14 days is not enough time for most people to get used to the altitude.
Resulting in a crapton of people getting altitude sickness and getting ripped off by Helicopter companies to get down the mountain.

    • Thats why I always used travel insurance. $120-$130 and it cover upto 6000m above sea level

      • Yeah, make sure yours covers it though.
Because of the scams the Helicopter companies are pulling in Nepal, most insurers now charge extra for mountaineering.
Source: I work in Emergency Repatriation / Travel Insurance.

        • Im looking at 1travel for EBc. Is that good?

          • @0PriceJack0: Do they offer cover up to 6000m?
or do you have to pay extra?

Hospitals in Nepal are ok, and they obviously know how to treat altitude sickness.
The only problem is helicopter companies charging way more than they should, faking cargo and passenger manifests so that insurances and travellers cough up the money.

If you're uninsured, the bill goes easy to $10.000 US for the helicopter trip alone (should be $3000 tops, especially if there are other tourists on the chopper)
