  • Aussie plug?

    • +3

      Yes.

      • Sorry can you confirm?
The cord is integrated with AU Plug?
Or its using an AU/CN plug, then a converter adapter to AU is supplied separately.
Reading from previous sale threads, I still cant confirm.
        Cheers!

    • +2

The plug I received from mine that I bought the other week is an insulated 2 pin (no earth) plug. It had Chinese writing on there but was for (I think) 240V/50Hz. The rep said previously "Au version have Australian compliance , C-tick approved", but note that the C-tick isn't an electrical safety approval mark. It would need to have the RCM mark on it for that (triangle with a circle and a tick inside it) which I think I recall being on a sticker stuck to the box but not on the plug. I can check when I am home or the rep can chime in. I don't want to give misinformation.

  • really think it is time to finally buy this. How does it go picking up dog hair? Anyone got any feedback with pets

    • Good on tiles, even on medium or low settings. I don't use mine on carpet.

    • +6

I have a german shepherd and floorboards and it picks up hair well.

Fills up pretty quick but doesn’t lose suction all the way to the top … which then I make a pillow out of haha. (Jk)

      • is that with the carpet head or normal?

    • +1

I have a domestic long hair cat, the carpet head seems to do a good job.

  • How does it stack up to Dyson of comparable prices?

    • +9

Read the comments from the last 8 times this has been posted.
Comparing the Xiaomi Dreame to the Dyson v8 in every performance metric is the Ozbargainer's favourite topic of conversation.

    • +1

Here is one comparing the V7 with the Dreame

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/452818

    • I honestly dont know why anyone would choose a Dyson over this….

      • Replaceable batteries in the Dyson. Fixed in the dream.

Sure you can buy a whole new one for the price difference, but some people don't like throwing away working stuff when the battery stops working in a couple of years.

        • I reckon there's a decent chance that replacement batteries will start becoming available a couple years from now when these start needing them. Probably for cheaper than the Dyson ones. Although some people seem to have suggested that Dyson can sometimes give you a new battery for free under the right circumstances.

For me, the replaceable-ness of the battery on the Dyson was insufficient for ideal even. I got an LG A9 Cordzero, which has the ability to hot swap batteries like you would with a drill. And the dock can charge a spare battery as well as the battery in the vacuum at the same time. Plus the batteries are $100 or so on ebay for genuine ones. But the best part is you can run out of charge and just swap another battery in in 2 seconds and effectively have double the capacity.

The downside of the LG is that they're a lot more than this. But as a typical ozbargainer, I found someone selling one with 4 batteries and all but 1 of every possible attachment (a shopping bag full lol) for $250. Best deal ever. So happy.

The LG has 140 air watts though. This is 120, which is impressive. The Dyson V10 is 145 or something from memory, maybe 150, so the LG is on par with that and far more practical and I got it for $250 :D

          • @rhino015: Where did you get the LG for such a great price?

            • +1

@Rodo: Was used though. Facebook marketplace. But was in perfect nick and still not that old. Super happy with that find haha. I live in Canberra and it was near Campbelltown, but I was heading up with a friend to Sydney that weekend anyway, so I was happy.

  • Maybe a silly question but what is the person doing in the second image from the top?
    https://cdn.shopro.com.au/imgHub/p/dreame/9.jpg

Anyone with this already, does the dust bin eject the stuff collected like the V8 or does it just rely on gravity like the V6?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSFQ8eKeKAw
It's annoying having to pull the dust out by hand when the bin gets too full.

    • +3

Regards 1st question. Very clever idea. That attachment fits onto the bin filter, you twist it and it unlocks the filter so u can clean it

    • +1

Looking at the first picture, looks like the dust bin relies on gravity like V6

    • I have one and it relies on gravity like V6.

    • +1

      Handjob?

  • +4

OP, any chances you can make a deal for the robotic vacuum?
Ready to pull the trigger :)

  • How would this be as the primary vacuum in an appartment with full carpet? Worried that you'd have to run the carpet head on high to get a deep clean, and run the battery out in 8 minutes.

Want to pull the trigger on this but hoping someone can weigh in.

    Cheers

    • With the carpet head I doubt you need to use high often. I only used it once and that was just to see what it's like.

    • I use this to vacuum a fairly large house.
It's very effective even on low for tiles/wood.
With the carpet head on thick carpet it's quite effective even on medium.

My take on cordless vacuums like this one… is that it's all about frequent convenient vacuuming.
So, when the battery runs low…. just re-dock it and continue later.
(So far… the battery life has been great… but it's brand new)

Also, because it's a trigger system you can start & stop very easily.
Which means that when the vacuum is running it's actually picking up dirt & there is no wasted "battery time".

      • Cheers for the reply!

    • +1

My apartment is all carpet except bathrooms and kitchen, and the carpet is plush and fairly thick. I have just recently moved in which means all the carpets were cleaned. I bought this including the carpet head last week or so when it was posted here and I gave my apartment a vacuum on the lowest setting just the other day. I didn't expect much dirt as I have barely lived in it and it was visibly clean. Well it picked up so much dirt, including a lot of hair. I mean it really picked up heaps of shit and this was just on the lowest setting, so you don't have anything to worry about. I recommend getting the carpet head for sure though as the soft head will not agitate the carpet enough (it is very soft).

      • Cheers for the reply!

  • Damn, now I feel like a schmuck for buying the carpet head at full price when it was first released.

    • How does it work on the carpet without the head but just with the standard roller? I guess it doesn't do nothing?

      • +1

I guess it doesn't do nothing

        So it does something?

        • -1

          funny, grammar professor :)

      • +1

Sorry I don't really understand the question.
Are you asking, does the normal hard-floor roller head (that comes with the dreame) work on carpet?
Answer is not really, that's why there was such strong demand for a dedicated carpet head.
The new carpet head is like a larger and more powerful version of the dust-mite (mattress and pillow) head that comes with the dreame.

        • that was exactly what I meant. Thanks!

    • how mcuh did u get it for at full price?
at $66 i still find it a bit too expensive…(i am cheap)

  • Hi I bought this with the last deal including carpet roller head however the carpet roller head never arrived with the package. Who can I speak to about this?

    • Please send your order detail by message, i will follow up for you.

  • Hold trigger to operate or press a button to turn it on?

    • Latter

      • +2

        Think you mean former

        • Yes, sorry, I meant former.

    • +1

Bought one with the last deal…

It's a trigger that needs to be held down.

      • +1

        Should i push the trigger?

        • You pull the trigger to buy and push the trigger to clean simples!!

  • To rep..
    Can I do pick up

  • Carpet head defo pulls up dirt, but i'm a bit meh about it, as i find it very hard to push the carpet head. It has alot of friction, so takes alot of effort to push it along.

    • Yeah the carpet head is not as well designed as the roller head, it's a bit hard to push sometimes. Also can't do under furniture very well as the head will angle upwards when you go too low.

    • I haven't struggled to push mine at all. Maybe it is subjective or carpet dependent, but mine felt like it was gliding across the carpet and the head swivelled and pivoted with ease

      • You should try it with a shag

  • What's the expected lifetime for the battery and does anyone know if you can get replacement batteries for this is unit?

    • We have spare batteries for warranty.

      • +1

What about out of warranty. Just wondering what a price for a replacement battery would be since I would suspect that the battery would die first.

        • +1

We will sell battery as well, will work out later.

  • i have tiles and carpets in house. do i have to keep swapping heads in each room of the house? sounds so irritating

    • or just keep the carpet head on. would work also on tiles i believe just like the dyson

      • ah i see, thanks for the comment, unlike raynes who just recommended me not to buy it. so the carpet head does a good job on tiles as well?

    • +1

Do all tiles first, then switch head and do all the rooms with carpet… just one switch. My previous vacuum (corded) required me to adjust the head to be closer to the ground for tiles/floorboards, or slightly raised for carpet.

  • -1

thats annoying and time wasting because i have a carpet in every 5 rooms of the house and living room.

    • -1

      don't buy it then

      • yeh i think ill go for the dyson next time there is a deal because it has a smart head where it swaps power when it senses carpet.

    • +1

      Just use a robot

      • cant because the rooms are an inch lower than the rest of the house so it would only be doing the living room and kitchen and dining.

        • Can't the stick take care of the other rooms?

  • +1

purchased the vacuum and the extra head during the last sale, very pleased with the item, better than the Dyson V8 for sure, very well built, great suction (on Med/High), run time is good , can't go wrong with this price

seller is good , good comms and fast shipping

  • I've been waiting for this for a while but I get "This code can't be applied to your order.". Is it working for anyone?

    • Purchased earlier today (around 12:30PM AEST) with no issues

    • I had this issue, had to use a secondary ebay account that I have (have only used when I have had similar scenarios previously).

  • -1

do we need to buy the carpet head separately or is it already included in the vacuum package?

    • Read the top details of this Deal or the ebay auction. It's included.
I thought the OP did a good job of posting the deal "Xiaomi Dreame cordless Handheld V9 Vacuum Cleaner Soft Roll and Carpet Roll Head"

      • For $278, No its not included.

        • For $344.92 it is, I thought was pretty clear in the bargain listing. The question didn't stipluate which deal they were asking about.
Not sure why someone would think it's included in the 278.80 deal.
I clicked on the links and confirmed exactly what was included in all three deals when I first saw it posted.

  • Awesome vacuum for the price.

I still think our main vacuum is better (a Shark NV800 series, another great bang for buck vacuum from Costco on special) but the Dreame is awesome for spot cleans and general cleans, especially for my wife with our newborn. I find myself using the Shark less and less.

Medium setting is sufficient for our house which has a mixture of timber flooring, tiles and high pile carpet in the bedrooms.

I want to get the xiaomi robot vac as well and I think together with the Dreame the poor Shark may be put out to pasture

  • Thanks OP, picked up one! Can't wait to give it a whirl!

  • Just got a Gen 1 Xiaomi Robot Vacuum for $340! Thanks!

    • Is that any good?

  • Bought the V10 from Kogan before this deal come up, or I could've saved $250. :(

  • I have Miele C2 hardfloor. Should buy this or Robot Vacuum they have?

  • It's just me that think this carpet head is still ridiculously expensive? It's 25% of the actual vacuum cleaner!

I may wait until my handstick fall apart or this bundle to be ~300aud.

  • Rep can we get a deal on the xiaomi mi robot vacuum (gen 1)?

    • yeah I would like to buy one. already bought Dream V9 from this deal podted above. @gearbite

      • I realised they have it in their eBay shop and the code works on it. Ordered.

        • they should give further discount when buying V9 and robot vacuum.

  • Thanks OP, got one.

  • I have been following Ozbargain for ages but only just signed up.
I jumped on this deal and i received the ‘Dreame V9’ yesterday. The Battery was completely dead when I opened the package so I tried to charge it, but the lights never came on showing it charging. I tried a different charger that I had that fits and that didn’t work so the battery or the unit is faulty. The trigger and the power select switch feels loose and flimsy. The Bug Roller Head is scratched up and looks used. I received a dud.

I contacted Gearbite via eBay and mentioned the above issues and also mentioned the Carpet Roller Head had not been delivered. They replied with the Carpet Roller Head is arriving seperately, with no mention to the issues with the unit not working. I replied informing them of the faulty unit again and to read my previous message. I have not received a response yet.

Hopefully, I can get a replacement sorted quickly. If it is a mess around, I will just get a refund as it will indicate any future warranty issues will be a pain in the butt.

    • Can i have your ebay id by message, i will follow up for you.

      • *

  • Thanks OP, been after one for a while, grabbed the carpet roller as well.

  • Missed out, tried buying it at 10.07am and the code didn't work. Guess i will wait till another 15% codes comes around.

  • @Gearbite Ordered Dreame Cordless V9 Vacuum Cleaner Soft Roll & Carpet Roll Two Head Combo on 20th and only received the "carpet Roll Head" today. Will pm you the order details and request to ship the correct item through eBay as well. Hope to get this resolved asap.

    • +1

Two seperated parcel, i have send the tracking code to you by message, please check.

      • @Gearbite Thanks for the prompt reply and clarification. I did not realise that there are two parcels. All good :)
