Good buy if it's in stock, on the Board of Studies approved calculators list.

  • I have that exact one and have been using it since 2007! It's a fantastic calculator.

  • No deal in Vic! Online anyway

  • Always need an extra on exam day.

  • Where was this deal when I lost my calculator on exam day :( Exact model I lost too..

On-topic: Will be checking out the Wollongong officeworks tommorow and stock up on this in case I lose more :P

    • LOL, I remember losing a calculator like this on exam day too (years ago)… had to buy one for $30 or so from the uni newsagent. Price gouging in a captive market FML.

All these bad puns are giving me a natural log.

Can't play Drugwars on it, though. :)

  • great, just what I need.

  • no stock

  • Great price! But I would rather use a HP that supports RPN for any serious calculations. For short calculations this should be fine, good to see it can do base-n.

can't you just get an app for your smart phone to emulate this functionality?

    • +5

I don't think the use of smart phones is allowed in exams mate.

    • There are already apps out there, HP has some but the ratings are currently not good for the high end calculators on iphone, they dont seem reliable at the moment.

Maybe there's some good software out there for smartphones, but dedicated devices will never die.

      1) far greater battery life
      2) tactile buttons for far greater ease-of-use
      3) comfortable size
      4) screens that don't wash out in the sun
      5) instant on/off
      6) can be used when the phone's battery is flat, in multiple locations too (at this price)

Basically, if you use these things often, a real calculator is the only way to go. Most touchscreens need big buttons to eliminate mistakes (so they can't show as many things on the screen at the same time), or you have to use some pointing device to hit the buttons showing on the screen. Not half as convenient as the real deal. May be OK for casual use though.

    I'd prefer a Casio

    • It's no fx550 from the 80's.

  • remembered use to buy them for 100 bucks from highschool, so expensive

seriously ozbargains shud just not allow OW threads , coz they are usually down to clearance when theres like 3-4 stock left.. and theres no point.
