Moved from Telstra cable to the 100/40 plan. The NBN tech put a new modem in that's about it. Was connected to superloop within minutes after that. Speeds of 97/38 at 8pm

    • Same situation as you, did you have to pay for the new modem?

      • I went from Optus cable to Superloop 100/40, speeds 94/37 at 7-8pm
NBN installed in 4 days, connection with NBN device provided no cost.
Wireless Router (Netgear R8000 Nighthawk) doing all the distribution around the house.
        Excellent service and seamless…

      • I don't think so. Haven't got a bill yet though! It just connects to my old Telstra gateway!

        • cool thanks

  • Following a message I left earlier about Telstra techicokour tg800vac (which I thought it didn’t work), I can now confirm it works. All I did is connected it, turn off ncd box and reconnect. The archer they I got from kogan wasn’t very good, hence I thought about retrying this one. I haven’t retried the other Telstra router I have however I reckon any router that supports nbn should work. If it doesn’t retry or call superloop. They can help.

Thanks for the good bargain - at least for the next six months ;). Got connected within 5 mins from the time of application (FTTP). Service was provisioned on UNI-D2. Running it in parallel with AussieBB on UNI-D1 just to check and the results were pretty much neck to neck. No router WAN setting was required as it is also IPoE. Received public dynamic IP but it hasn’t changed since last Sunday (Haven’t rebooted the router since). Closed off AussieBB account and prepaid money refunded next day. Looking all good. I have to give it to AussieBB team for superior tech support. SL tech is total hit or miss. Called them twice before signing up – on each occasion received different answers and that too non definitive version. Figured it out myself after signing up. Thinking of which hardly call tech support, so guessing it will be alight for me.

  • Completely new to NBN at a brand new FTTP property (for the parents).
    applied on 26th Oct.
Still waiting for my router to arrive, however I've logged into my account.

how do I know if its up & running yet?
I guess its not as I haven't been told which Uni-D port to connect to?

    • +1

You can give SL tech a call to find out or can create a PPPoE dialer on your computer and connect straight to your NTU. It's normally UNID1 for the f1rst service.

      • Thanks . What about username and password on the router?

I thought I didn't need a modem.. Is that correct?

        • +1

for FTTP, you just need to connect your router/wifi router to one of the UNI-D port (usually UNI-D 1) and you'll automatically get an IP. You can test by plugging in your computer directly. No need any modem.

          • @r0xz: the thing on the wall is the modem

I ordered this deal and have had a shocking experience with Superloop, do not recommend! Ended up cancelling and going to ABB.

    Ordered on 21/09/2019

Received Confirmation Email, no correspondence since.

Rung up last week, they were not able to find my order in the system, eventually found it by address. Informed me that they would install on Wednesday 30th (today) between 1-5 and send me a text message with all of the details. Not only did they not contact me, they also did not turn up.

Rung up at 4:40pm after waiting all day for them to turn up. Apparently appointment had been cancelled, which i did not. Informed me next appointment is not until the 11th November.

Confirmed my phone number was correct, so in the 9 days they have had the order, I have not received any emails, phone calls, or text messages from Superloop!

My Superloop experience has yielded me a wasted day, two wasted 45 minute (mainly on hold) phone calls, and three weeks without internet (will take another two weeks to get another appointment according to Superloop). Just great!

    • +9

What do you mean by Superloop didn't turn up? You realise Superloop is just an ISP and any appointment you have would be with the NBN not Superloop?

  • Looking at moving my folks over to superloop (they have an existing TPG HFC connection).

From what I can gather TPG require 30 days, and they have also been provided a router.

Can I use the existing router that has been provided by TPG, or will they need to get a new one?
Also should I wait until the 30 days before signing up or just request the churn over now?

    • +1

I am in a similar situation as you.
To maximise the 30 days cancellation notice requirement from TPG, I already put through a request to cancel my service on 20th October for my service from TPG to be cancelled in 30 days time.
Will be signing up with Superloop maybe on 15th November and hope the churn should not take more than a day or two.

As per my research and replied from this thread, TPG modem ( mine is a Archer V1600 modem) should work just fine with Superloop. The wlan connection needs to be changed from PPPoe to IPoE.

      • +2

        I just did it today.
        Churned from TPG.
My 30th day is tomorrow, only did it today because tomorrow is Saturday.
Churn took a total of 7 minutes.

        1) Change from PPPOE to IPOE
        2) Do not disable 802.1Q
        3) Put 0 for VLAN ID.

        Regards

So you cant use a referral code and also the 6 months $20 discount?

  • Just signed up online. Easy process except I'm disappointed they don't accept AMEX cards.

  • So I need to switch from Telstra cable to NBN… Narrowed down my choice to ABB v Superloop… And this 50/20 promo from Superloop looks very tempting!!

    Any recommendations?

    FWIW, I'm in Melbourne metro

    • Those are the logical two choices… either will do.

  • signed up to superloop last night with order processed but yet to be connected to the internet. Rep said that some others with NBN HFC are also having delays from NBN network which is kinda annoying.

  • +1

Who here is going to leave Aussie Broadband for 6 months for this SL deal with the intent of going back to Aussie Broadband to get the new customer promo once the $69.95 kicks in?

    +1 ME

    • I'll be staying assuming service performs the same.

    • +1

I think I read on another forum that they don’t treat returning customers as “new”

      • Pretty sure I've read something similar…but you never know, in six months ABB may have a mega Welcome Back Promotion for returning customers!

  • I have Telstra cable about to switch to NBN…

Can anyone confirm if I can use my Telstra Gateway Frontier modem with another ISP…ie; Superloop?

  • SWITCHING UPDATE: (from ABB to Superloop - I have FTTC)

Hi guys just in case anyone is interested in the experience

    1) 1min after signup got an SMS that NBN order is in progress
    - internet dropped - (as planned)

    2) 8mins later NBN service is now COMPLETE

Hello Superloop :) Speed looks fine.

  • Did my switch last night from ABB too.

1:13 am: Put through my order
    1:15 am: Internet dropped
1:40 am: Internet went back up

    Smoother than a baby's butt.

Just cancelled my service with ABB and it's all good.

    • so no username/password are needed it looks like?

      • +1

Well, you need it for logging into their system (to check account and stuff), but not for your internet connection.

        • thanks

    • Did you give 30 days notice to ABB?

      • Nope. My billing period ends in 2 days. No extra charges whatsoever.

      • In fact ABB is doing a pro-rata refund for the remaining 4 days of a family members service month after they moved to Superloop.

Really can't fault ABB service at all and I guess they don't want to aggravate leaving customers because most, like myself, would now have no hesitation in returning to or recommending ABB in the future based on good experiences.

"Your brand name is only as good as your reputation." Richard Branson

    • did you cancel with ABB a while ago, as they require 10 days notice I think, unless you’re willing to forgo part of your billing cycle.

      Edit: just saw your reply

  • I'm currently with Telstra and my evening speed is around 45-50m. Should I sign up for the 50/20 or 100/40 plan ? Will superloop faster than Telstra or similar ?

  • Finally switched over today as I've been waiting till the end of my billing period with ABB. Incredibly easy! The whole process, including downtime, reconnection and calling ABB to cancel, took less than 20 minutes. Thanks OP.

  • Finally disconnected from Optus 50/20 ($80 plan) and signed up with Superloop for the same plan for $54.95. Lets see how long it takes to get connected again.

  • Superloop also charge 1 month in advance for the first month?

    • Yes

  • I just activated my 50/20 superloop plan but am only getting 25mbps. Should I maybe update my 3 year old Dodo Huawei home gateway modem to get better speeds?

  • Just churned from Aussie BB to these guys, In less than 5 mins and was connected again on the HFC very impressed :)

  • Anyone experience switching from tpg adsl to superloop nbn?

    Tpg needs 30 days notice.
Just wondering how can i have a smooth transition from those with similar situation using fttn.

Are these the possible steps i need to do?
    - order nbn modem as SL doesnt provide free nbn modem
    - start cancellation of tpg adsl for 30 days to kick in.
    - can i specifically tell SL i need nbn connection after 30 days my tpg gets cancelled?

  • i can't seem to use the code shows a red cross. Anybody else experienced this.

  • Ordered Superloop 10 mins ago and 3 mins later after ordering I got an email saying that connection was active. It is for our new home which does not have current FTTN plan at the moment. I will test tonight and see.

  • I made a mistake, in my excitement I did not read through properly. My AussieBB billing cycle ends today so while I was cancelling with them on the phone, I signed up to this offer. Now I've read through the steps and worried this will stuff up my transfer/provisioning.

No sms from SL yet but AussieBB account seems to have closed (as per app), I'm at work so can't check my connection at home.

Any advice on how I can fix this stuff up? I'm on FTTN.

  • Well I tested the connection about 6pm tonight and it as connected as expected. That was quicker than expected. Used an old Telstra Sagemcom F@st5355 from Telstra and worked straightaway.

I haven't tested speed yet, I'm in the process of moving home at the moment.

  • How is everyone finding Superloop 50/20 plan on HFC… Are the typical evening speeds consistent?

Does it depend on your location? I am in Wantirna South 3152 in Melbourne?

  • Any ideas about ISPs to swap in and out of to take advantage of the new customer discount?

  • Ordered on 4th of November, still not active, was just billed by old ISP up until December 7 :(

  • 43/16 9:00pm on Friday. I didn't expect that on FTTN. I hope it stays like that.

  • Signed up Wednesday night to transfer from TPG NBN FTTP. Still not active.

  • Switched from AussieBB and am a little disappointed so far.

On HFC, AussieBB would consistently get 94/38, any time of day really, inc peak.

Superloop has been really inconsistent. So far caps out at 90/38, but sometimes goes as low as 56/38 in the peak and around 80/38 most other times.

I know, woe is me… I just wasn't expecting such a drop off, especially considering Superloop's typical peak speed is meant to be higher than AussieBB.

    • +1

Look for me on Whirlpool (Michael Blake) and send me a message ill take a look. NO reason for the drop unless HFC in your area has just got bure busy lately. FTTP users don't see any drops at all, unfortunately, HFC and FTTN are not the best. Although we (with NBN) are in the early trials for new HFC codes now that may make things better in the long run.

  • Moving to a new house which had HFC before. How early should I sign up with Superloop in advanced to avoid down time?
I was told there is no 'scheduled activation' feature when signing up.

    • Once I approved the $300 charge for new property it was up and running within a couple of hours

  • HFC

Moved from AussieBB to Superloop. Very quick and painless. Took about 10 minutes and had to restart the NTD.

Sent an email to AussieBB notifying them of the cancellation as well just in case.

  • +1

Put in an order on 23/OCT, received order confirmation but nothing has moved since then. Shot an email 30/OCT to their support email, no response. Trying to switch from iiNet. Very disappointing start.

    • Similar response for me. I had to ring

      • Same here slow response. Had to call up. Disappointing.

    • Look for me on Whirlpool (Michael Blake) and send me a message ill take a look.

      • @warsome can you help me to look into my port from AussieBB to superloop? Do you need my user name?

  • Switched over from ABB as they wouldn't match superloops deal, the whole thing from switch over to disconnection took like 10 minutes and speeds are great,

    So far so good

  • How long does it usually take to transfer from one ISP to another? I need to get out before the 22nd of this month but if I transfer now do I just lose the rest of my current month? Can you ask them to wait for a particular date?

    • +2

SL can set a date in the future but you have to sign up via phone for that. A churn can be as short as a few minutes but can be a couple of days if there is any sort of issue. Mine was FTTN and it took about 2 days and a phone call to sort out a name address issue then get the connection switched over. The net was only down for about 10 mins once the process was underway.

      • Thanks, signed up over the phone and they were happy to delay the switch until a particular date.

  • Is this still available?

    • +1

Yes, I signed up to it yesterday afternoon fine.

      • Thanks mate

  • Just referrenced it (by phone)

    • So it is still available?

      • Yes, it was agreed to (tho I'm yet to receive a confirmation email)

  • +1

I found that superloop does not have enough staffs. Each time I call them, I have to wait for more than 30 minutes before I can talk to one of their staffs. They are forever experiencing extreme high volumes of calls.

I signed up for the average evening speed of 44, FTTC, but i only get 23.

    Very disappointed.

    • +1

      Cable or wifi testing?

  • +1

Yeah I was a bit surprised. Rang once, was fourth in the queue for some time so hung up. Rang back about an hour later and was 3rd, so I thought I'd stay on. Got to first within about ten minutes but then remained there for about 20min. We shall see what post-sales support looks like,…

    • too me 30~ mins jumping from caller number 4 to caller number 2… i am really worried.

  • NBN 50/20 Unlim $54.95/Month, NBN 100/40 Unlim $69.95/Month ($20/Month off First 6 Months All Plans) @ Superloop (New Customers)

is ambiguous and suggests you get $20 off the quoted prices for the first 6 months. Yes I know the reality is specified in the small print, but for clarity it should really have been:

NBN 50/20 Unlim $54.95/Month, NBN 100/40 Unlim $69.95/Month for first 6 months (+$20/Month thereafter) @ Superloop (New Customers)

  • Thanks so much! moved from ABB to Superloop, took all of 5 minutes (FTTP)

Called ABB and they disconnected my connection immediately (my billing cycle runs till 14 of each month, so no extra charges at all). I filled out details on the SL site and had the sms asking to restart the modem within 5 minutes…

    • Thanks for sharing this info. This is what exactly I am planning on doing (FTTP), move from ABB to SL.
Waiting for my ABB billing cycle to end on 21st. Was it easy to cancel ABB? Have you used call or web chat?

      • I called ABB. My bill cycle ends on the 14th so I called and they said could do an immediate disconnection when I called on the 14th

  • What have peoples experiences been churning when you are FTTN is it pretty quick or delayed - also does anyone know if their service works with the 'Telstra Smart Modem™ Gen 2'

I just want to know when in my billing cycle i should switch.

    Cheers

    • +1

I'm in FTTN, connection was done in about 4 mins. I used an old Telstra Modem S@gemcom and connected straigthaway, no configuration necessary.

  • took me 50+ mins today on the phone moving from call number 4 to call number 1 (around 4pm today so it shouldn't at its peak). eventually gave up waiting.
can't imagine what happen if I need urgent tech support after sign up…

I could have saved the 50+ mins by just signing up online but ppl said I am not able to schedule the installation or they activate the account straightaway (if lucky) and start charging. I am moving in to a new house in 2 weeks time. I don't want to waste too much money for something I can't use but I can't afford no internet either.

  • When I change ISP what do I do? Just sign up a new ISP then finish? The new ISP do the termination of current ISP?

    • From my understanding, you should wait til your new ISP is active and then call/email your cancellation request to your current ISP, don't just have faith that your old ISP will cancel automatically… Last thing you want is double charges!

      • If with TPG, they have 30 days notice policy. Check with your provider.

  • Hey guys,

I'm on Aussie BB FTTC. It expires on Thursday ( 3 days ). I've already had the email to confirm cancellation of service ( at my request ).

Can I order this Superloop NBN now? Or do I need to wait until the Aussie BB expires.

Will Superloop automatically override the Aussie BB connection, or will they call ABB to " remove their service " from my house, so they can apply theirs?

    Not sure how it works.

    • you'll want to changeover while you still have an active connection with Aussie so you don't have any downtime. I'd sign up with superloop Thursday morning as it's your last billing day and since you've already let them know you're cancelling there's nothing more to do there and superloop will just takeover. you could sign up now until Thursday if you don't care about losing a few days with Aussie. up to you. please correct if i'm wrong but I'm also planning on doing this with FTTP in a few weeks

      • Ok I'll try that, I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks

  • Im an existing TPG ADSL subscriber and NBN will noly be availabe by the end of the month as per TPG.

If I go for SuperLoop, what nbn modem would you advise as it seems NBN modem was not included.
    - I read abot cheap but acceptable modem to use (D-Link DSL-2888A) ? Anyone can confirm this is compatible with SuperLoop ? I am using FTTN

Belong provides FREE modem I belive,

  • +1

Bought this service and got connected in 5 minutes. Wow

    • Are you switching from an NBN to SuperLoop or from ADSL to SuperLoop?

      • I switched from NBN (Exetel) to Superloop

        • Did you give them 30 days notice?

I just switched from Exetel too on the last day of billing period and only realised the 30 days notice so I got charged one month more by Exetel. :(

Also on Superloop application form, I indicated that I have a voip number and that prevented the churn, had to call up Superloop to remove that number so the churning can proceed.

          • @mike82: I actually switched because they emailed me saying my bill is gona go up by 10% and offered if I want to switch instead they will waive the 30 days notice period.

When I switched to SL, received an email from Exetel advising cancellation will be done 30 days later. I called them and advised about the email. They then cancelled immediately.

  • Signed up. Moving from Telstra cable. Thanks OP.

    • I’ll be moving from Telstra cable too… are you planning on continuing to use your Telstra wifi modem?
