      • Not really sure to be honest. We've got a gateway modem/router. My wife took the booking today and they said they'll be supplying a new modem with the install in 9 days.

        • +2

Just moved from Telstra cable to Superloop also. Pretty seamless move. NBN guys supplied a new modem. Existing Telstra Frontier works just like it did with Telstra.

      • Switched from Telstra to Superloop on Friday and haven't been able to get the Telstra Gateway Max to work. Seeing mixed reports on if it's possible or not. Popped an 8 port switch on for now and hoping to pickup an 8 port wifi router with USB on Cyber Monday.

        • It’s not just possible, it should work without issue. I have one (in bridge mode) on my FTTN Superloop connection, my sister has one as a modem/router on FTTN with ABB as well. A mate has one as a router for his FTTP connection. No issue at all with any of them.

          What’s the issue you’re having?

  • Submitted an HFC churn order.. will see how fast the process will take..

    • within 30min done… so far the churning process is as good as ABB.
will check speed when I get home tonight.

  • How does Superloop compare to ABB?

  • looking to sign up, spoke to customer service, we have telstra nbn,
they said the existing modem will only work if its unlocked,

just spoke to telstra chat (who in the past have given me wrong info) and got told its carrier locked and wont work anywhere else,

    just confirming this is correct,
Superloop said they have a modem for sale at $99.95, im assuming this isnt free even if we sign a 2 year contract

    sorry for the newbie questions

VOIP locked, otherwise not generally and can be used on other ISP's (ignoring VLAN ID requirements).

Give your Telstra router model number and someone will confirm.

      • appreciate it,

under the box it says Model number: F@st 5355
        hope this is right

P.S not interested in voip :)

  • Put an order through this morning at 12:05am Melbourne time on 22/11/2019. Just received order received e-mail.
So far no news. I am on HFC.

    • I got my email.about 5pm yesterday,
      Nothing yet

      1. Ordered at 12:05 am on 22/11/2019
      2. Provision in progress message received at 12:40 PM on 22/11/2019 (They have put it through manually. No idea why as I have a basic setup with no phone)
      3. Churned completed around 03:00 am on 24/11/2019 as per the support agent
      4. Confirmation message received from Superloop at 10:14 am on 24/11/2019

Moved from Exetel (HFC) to Superloop (HFC). Don't know why it took so long.

      • for some reason, my order was put on hold because I had a phone line,
I had to call up and they said they would put it through to activations on monday,

        I signed up wednesday

  • How seamless is the switch from Aussie Broadband to Superloop? Any down time?

    • +1

Quick for me FTTN ordered 13:07 - completed and active 13:30.

Deal probably needs to be updated as SL put up their pricing today and introduced the 100/20 plans:

    500GB

    $74.95 50/20
    $79.95 100/20
    $89.95 (100/20 speedboost to 100/40)

    Unlimited

    $64.95 25/5
    $79.95 50/20
    $89.95 100/20
    $99.95 (100/20 boosted to 100/40)

No clue if the $20 off a month applies to the new 25/5 Unlimited plan.

    • +2

The fact they have bumped the price up already by $10 on the unlim 100/40 plan only 2 weeks after the promotion started and 3 days before it is supposed to end doesn't fill me with confidence that I can trust their pricing down the track.

    • Pretty gutted with $5 more expensive for unlimited 50/20 plan. I just signed up now n the $20off still applied. And you have the option to choose asap or any connection date.

Geee.. the porting from Tangerine to Superloop only take less than 2 mins ! Gosh, so quick

    • Yep, pretty disappointing price jack on the 50/20 and 100/40 plans. They're honouring the grandfathered pricing indefinitely for those already connected or signed up.

It seems the new 25/5 unlimited plan is included in the promo so it's possible to get it for $44.95/month for 6 months. I can't edit the post so will report to the mods.

Updated plan structure with the deal:

      nbn 25/5 Unlimited ($44.95/month first 6 months, $64.95/month thereafter)

      nbn 50/20 500GB ($54.95/month first 6 months, $74.95/month thereafter)
      nbn 50/20 Unlimited ($59.95/month first 6 months, $79.95/month thereafter)

      nbn 100/20 500GB ($59.95/month first 6 months, $79.95/month thereafter)
      nbn 100/20 Unlimited ($69.95/month first 6 months, $89.95/month thereafter)

      nbn 100/40 500GB ($69.95/month first 6 months, $89.95/month thereafter)
      nbn 100/40 Unlimited ($79.95/month first 6 months, $99.95/month thereafter)

      • Yep, pretty disappointing price jack on the 50/20 and 100/40 plans. They're honouring the grandfathered pricing indefinitely for those already connected or signed up.

True, but it now basically stops any one from changing their plan unless they really have a need for a different speed. I'm definitely stuck on my 50/20 Unlimited for $74.95 a month, as no point upgrading to the new 100/20 plan when if I had done it 2 days ago I'd have have 100/40 grandfathered instead.

Does just show that the big song and dance NBN were making about their wholesale price changes haven't actually changed anything for anyone, if anything it's just made the prices even worse now.

      • +1

I think you may need to update the pricing again….

        nbn 50/20 500GB is $53.95/month first 6 months, $73.95/month thereafter
nbn 50/20 Unlimited is $58.95/month first 6 months, $78.95/month thereafter

        nbn 100/40 500GB is $64.95/month first 6 months, $84.95/month thereafter
nbn 100/40 Unlimited is $78.95/month first 6 months, $98.95/month thereafter

Looks like they reduced the nbn 100/40 500GB by $5 while others were merely reduced by $1 - lol

I just signed up to 100/20, let's see how good they are…

        • What the..? I lost $1 per month now

          • @yht: annoying isn’t it?
I hope they don’t drop the price for black Friday tomorrow lol

            • @kungfupanda: Yeah. I think they are overrated, not as fast as it should. I was with Tangerine, though not perfect, as least I can still scroll through facebook and no delay viewing the video and photos. Sometimes delayed in watching streaming video in SD. But SL, even download photo in whatsapp, takes ages to download. Scrolling through fb, have to wait for the photo to come up. Gosh, dissapointed porting to SL.

              • @yht: oh no…. that's not good :(
I was with Leaptel before and the connection was very good 100% up since I was connected.
Now I have unsettled feeling after signing up with SL.

I am still waiting for SL to connect my NBN … and to make things worse I called Leaptel last night to cancel my service today so I don't get double charge on my up coming billing…. argghhh!!!

                • @kungfupanda: Yep, now I couldn't download picture and video in whatsapp even though only few hundreds kilobytes

                  • @yht: ok … finally my nbn is connected with SL after I called them.

I got to admit the support guy Alek was very good and helpful 👍👏 - although the call waiting time was bit longer than I expected and my call was first in line haha

so far I have a bit of hope in SL - let’s see the reliability over the upcoming days (6 months?)

  • This looks like they are taking clients for a ride. After NBN agrees to cut down higher tier, retailer now start increasing the price for mid tier

"NBN Co to temporarily cut 100Mbps prices starting 2020"
    https://www.itnews.com.au/news/nbn-co-to-temporarily-cut-100…

Do we have cheaper optoins than NBN as ADSL will discontinue in less than 18months?

  • So annoying that the normal price is now the same as aussie broadband… Was looking forward to a $10 a month saving afterwards after signing up.

  • Unbelievable, now they are reducing a further $1

  • Did anyone else get charged $109.90 for the second month? I phoned them and the woman said this is normal but seems strange when I have been charged $54.95 for the 1st and 3rd months of the 6 month deal.

    • For me it was 109.90 for the first month

      • +1

Had another look at the invoice and I think they have combined the first 2 months into the one bill.
