  • Attempted on highest Laptop and code not accepted???

    • Yeah, tried on a monitor. Didn't work. I made sure I selected PayPal as the payment method…but nope.

    • It's working now

Just as an FYI, they're running a sale on their website with 20% off on some laptops (and other % for other items), and their base prices are cheaper on the website.

    Example for Model# gn77d593au
    EBay: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Dell-G7-17-Gaming-Laptop-9th…

    Dell Online: https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/game/dell-g7-17/spd/g-series…

    Ebay Price: 3,399 x 0.8 = 2,719.20
    Dell Price: 2,999 x 0.8 = 2,399.21

Been looking at them and lenovo myself lately at various different models so i'd check both sources since they supply the model# on the ebay store and you can just google it to get to the product on Dell's own site.

    • Wow…

    • Any recommendations on a work laptop around the $700 mark?

      • No idea, though i heard the Inspirons are OK and aimed at business with their build quality. This one looks alright (don't let the ram fool you, it's only 4GB but apparently optane is pretty good) - https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/shop/business-laptops-ultrab…

Traditionally i've owned Lenovo and found them to be great and i'd recommend considering the E490 for a cheap small 14" or E590 for 15.4"

Also you can get a reasonable amount of cash back from shopback on the Dell site

    • Plus the eBay store quotes over a month for shipping, versus 3-5 days on the Dell store.

  • Not active yet for some reason. Good timing though - I'm after a laptop right now.

  • I think will active in 2 days time….

  • the voucher works now.

It's never possible to combine 2 eBay codes is it?

    • -1

You can check by trying to apply both codes during checkout

  • Whats the best bang for weight laptop? This is for someone doing a lot of travelling and usually only taking hand luggage.

They've got a good few ways of sorting, but nothing by weight.

The new inspiron 13? Quite light, cheaper than xps. No options for 4K screen though if you want that.

      • Personally, 4K on a laptop is overkill anyway

        • Agreed, especislly for 13". Handy if you connect to a bigger screen

      • Thanks had a good look really great laptop.

Did some more research and the xps 15 is a ripper of a laptop for weight, so looking at spending a bit more and grabbing that.

        • Try google XPS15 and hinges in same sentence

    • You after something super light? The 12 inch MacBooks were pretty awesome, if you can find a refurbished or used one. I’ve double checked bags to make sure I packed mine with hardly anything else inside.
Not the best for productivity because of the small screen size, but powerful enough for most things.

  • More of the same

  • Personally have the XPS 15 as a work machine and to be honest, i am not impressed by it. The keyboard is really bad and after a while, the power jack seems to spit out the charger and I constantly get a message that the batter is not charging.

Should have come with a T3 PD charger and it didnt so was disappointed again.

    • what generation is your xps15?

      • Hmm its got a 7th Gen Chip. I am guessing 2 gens ago.
It has a T3 port but the charger is not a PD.

        • ive got the same model. for me, my headphone jack was faulty but i didn't realise until after my warranty ran out. my keyboard is still going strong however my touchpad has gone to shits. everything else is going good so far.

    • I've had my XPS 15 since 2011 believe it or not. It's ancient now, but still does the job. Just. But my XPS has had the power cord fall out constantly since the day I bought it. It is absolutely infuriating. I figured I'd buy a new laptop when this one dies but the damn thing just won't die! So it is built to last but if they haven't fixed that power plug issue in all these years then there is no way I'm getting another Dell.

      • Got the same laptop for my whole team and the problems is there with all their machines.

    • Bought a 8th gen XPS last year and I still love it. Keyboard is indeed a bit of a let down, but overall it is a very strong machine for a reasonable price.

      • Do they include a PD USB C charger with any of the newer models?

  • Any real bargains?

    • Let me know when you find out

    • Nope. Rrp are all inflated. Dell is the Harris Scarfe of computer prices.

  • I believe that the XPS 15 power consumption is around 130 Watts and the maximum power deliverable through thunderbolt 3 is 100 Watts, this would be a pretty good reason for not providing a power supply that has a thunderbolt three connector.

  • Hi all, question.
When dell eBay print invoice, will that according to billing name and address, or as per the shipping details?
Also, will the invoice date follow the purchase date or when they ship the laptop out? Thanks

    • Don’t bother reselling 😉

      • What? No I intend to claim TRS so those details are important (family member going not me)
