Another stunner found in the Jetstar deals, dates vary as per the Return for free deals page, but the example provided is in April.

It's Jetstar, so no bags/food included.

Examples:
https://www.skyscanner.com.au/transport/flights/syd/sgn/2004… - $272 Return

https://www.skyscanner.com.au/transport/flights/syd/sgn/2004… - $288 Return

Amazing price though, maybe spend the savings on some food or experiences in Vietnam :)

edit: a new 282 return has appeared in some search results for the $288 one, ignore it, doesn't work. It's the $288 one you want.

      Congrats on surviving the traffic!

Nothing can prepare you for it. Crossing a busy intersection was intense. Being on the back of a motorbike was fun though!

Crossing a busy intersection was intense.

          This.

Gives you a serious sense of accomplishment when you make it safe to the other side lol. But for anyone on the fence - do it. Great food, and the Vietnamese locals are very friendly and kind.

          10/10 would go back.

        • Cambodian traffic is next level, it made the Vietnamese traffic a week later much more approachable haha

How much extra is baggage for these Jetstar flights?

It's best know as SAIGON, a much preferred name by the Vietnamese.

    • True that!

Correction, a much preferred name by the SOUTH Vietnamese

  • Can't seem to see your Imgur example
Got a date example I can search for?

    • actually, found a few

$1k for a family of 4 return seems insanely cheap

Anyone got any tips for a week in Vietnam :)

Please understand the life you all love in vietnam, will soon be over, with China crushing the country. Think of it when you travel there.

    • what the hell are u on about? I'm vietnamese and I know it's not true

I think jdmdavid has a point. Have you seen Nha Trang lately, especially in peak season?

        • +6

Exactly, swamped by Chinese tourists, most of them have bad manners. DaNang/Hoi An are next….

          • @ozblocd: Hoi an is already swamped

            • +4

@[Deactivated]: A lot of chinese retirement age group age 55+ are all travelling now given the pension money they receive. They tend to travel within and close to China. Vietnam and Japan been some countries with this age group of chinese tourist. Unfortunately this age group is also the group most commonly don’t obey law and etiquettes. They like to spit, touch things they shouldn’t touch, skip the queues, gets into arguments easily.

              • @Michaelz101: You forgot your normal opening line mate: not to be a ageist.

          • @ozblocd: Even worse than Aussies pissing their way through Bali or Bangkok?

    • Vietnamplease

    • Wish me luck for 4U tmr sir

    F1 in on in April

    • You're right F1 is in Hanoi on April 5th. This deal only has $0 return flights up to the 5th of April though which is the day of the race. You'd have to leg it from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh and leave at 10:35pm. Possible, but good luck to you.

  • Syd- HCMC 22/3-5/4 is $262

So the actual fare is more than twice the headline deal price?

      • That image is likely for 2 people. I got tix for 2 from Melb and after baggage and seats it was $650

        • I hope you're right

      • +1

        Thats for 2 ;)

  • Unrelated commentary: Skyscanner has rebranded, is this a bug on their part of has OzBargain cached the old logo?

  • why is an 7-8 hour stop over in MEL on the way back?

Almost worth not taking that leg and getting a 7K redemption back earlier (or the next day if you want 24h in Mel)

We regret to inform you that we are unable to confirm your ticket due to airlines restriction and price change.

Got a email saying I'll be refunded.

The price was too good to be true.
