Nintendo DSi @ GAME - $138

540

First bargain posted ever, be nice.

Saw the one posted about Myer mid last month for $144 went alright, only problem was that Myer had pretty much no stock.

Just picked up one of the ninty DSI's for $138 at game in Perth Central, they have 12 left at that store and apparently arent restocking (could be BS). They also have a pack that contains car charger/cover/screen protectors/stylus for $5 too (down from $60 apparently, but I dont know who in their right mind would pay $60 for it)

Anyway, hope someone else gets this bargain.

They are also doing pre orders for shadow of the Colossus/ICO for $58 which seemed quite reasonable consider EB is doing pre orders for $98.

+1 for first post :) but DSi is really out dated and should be even cheaper.

As far as I am concerned though its still the nicest of the DS gen. and I am not interested in a 3DS at the current price or style, give it a year or two and a 'lite' version will be released and it'll be a bit cheaper… thats the moment I buy in!

I found the ds lite too small, and the DSI XL too big. Ive bought and sold DSi's a few times but at this price I just couldnt say no! Chrono Trigger here I come! also a nice filler before the Vita comes out.

I agree, the DSi is the nicest of the four DS models. While it has slightly worse battery life than the Lite, it's a much nicer design. I love the matte finish, I love the larger screens (without the uncomfortably large form factor of the XL), and I love the much nicer D-pad (the Lite's D-pad is very mushy). Then there's the fact that it just looks nicer overall.

Also, Chrono Trigger is a good choice :)

The EB preorder price for ICO Collection has changed now. It's down to $69.95. It's still cheaper at GAME, but I thought I would just clarify for you.

looks like its gone down again to $58!

I bought nintendo 3ds and I sold all the games. lol. Now I have no game to play with :D

im gonna wait until the xL is this price…

    • If its the Zelda Special Edition, or one of the pokemon versions bnib, Ill take it for $102 without hesitation!

      • Pretty much this. I skipped the Gold Zelda GBA SP brand new at Toys R Us, have been kicking myself for years. Now it's worth several hundred, even beaten up second hand.

        • What??? Really? I have one! I treated it like its my kin!

I would love an original purple Gameboy Advance (brand new) for $102.

Don't dismiss older tech just because it's older. There are heaps of great games on the system that will never been seen on any other platform.

You can't even play Game Boy Advance games on this DSi; on earlier DSs you could do it but the feel just isn't the same as the first most ergonomic unit. On the original DS and DS Lite, one screen goes unused and the borders are cut off the screen that is used due to the different aspect ratio). Feels totally not right in the hand, in my opinion.

Plus even with those DS units that could play Game Boy Advance games, you couldn't do multiplayer on. So dedicated Game Boy Advance units are great for multiplayer action between friends. Either the original Game Boy Advance (which is my favourite for comfort except for the screen), or the revised Game Boy Advance SP units (my favourite for the screen but not for hand comfort…)

So, are you selling any or just trolling? Sounds like a bargain to me.

      • While not quite the same, you can get replacement cases (housing) with new buttons and conductive pads for cheap ($4 posted) If you're handy with a screw driver, you could refurbish an old Gameboy.
DX has purple GBA SP's and GBC (I have seen purple oldschool GBA cases on some of the other asian websites…

Thanks Dan, I'm aware of those but don't need them (and quality can be variable). I would love some spare brand new Game Boy Advance units though :)

In fact, I wish I still had the original Game Boy unit I once bought. Lots of good games there too - on the greyscale system.

My point being the new stuff is just a different experience; sure maybe technically better in some areas but overall just a different experience because of the different games; definitely not necessarily always better.

It's no surprise that emulation is so big nowadays; lots want to recapture the magic of older games, and some older games were absolute classics and they are best played on the hardware they were designed for, in my opinion.

          Cheers.

seriously its a bargain website harden up a little and just post the bargain, if its good we +v if its crap you get a -v being a first post means nothing

    • fair call. hope you got a cheap DSi out of it.

  • DS Lite is the best DS model, pretty much hands down. The battery life on DS Lite is amazing, I get 5 times more battery life than 3DS.

What I find funny is the cameras on all Nintendo handhelds. Completely unusable and laughable.

Don't get me started on the virtual game store. They are more expensive than the actual cartridges from ebay or the like.

But this is still worth it, I guess. I regret buying the normal DSi though, the large version at least had a point.

thats weird? why would a 3ds use more battery than a ds lite?

this world works in mysterious ways sometimes

        ………….

      • +1

Thats like saying "I Wonder why my v8 takes more petrol than a prius". seriously dude.

    • I still have my white ds lite from years ago and agree that the battery life is great. The only reason I am thinking of getting a dsi is that the bottom touch screen is scratch to buggery I suppose I could buy a replacement one from dealextreme..decisions.

these are $157 or so in the gold coast helensvale store. not $138. they have wii's for $148

    • Go to game.com.au, they are $138 on there.

    • click on the link, looks like $138 to me

      http://www.game.com.au/nintendo-dsi-black/nintendo-ds/DSIBLK…

    • I can only tell you that I walked into a store and asked them if they had any for $138 as it stated on their website, and they said "We sure do".

sucks that you didnt mention it has it on their website.. I hear GAME pricematch their own prices.
