And those idiots selling them on ebay for another two zeros.

    • +6

News Limited claimed people were selling bars for $1000 on eBay. I had a look… couldn't see any. The going price was about $6 plus postage. Classic News Limited clickbait garbage.

      • +4

saw that too and wanted me to punch that shitty newswriter in the face. dude buys 15 blocks for $4 each and burns them on a fire. newswriter titles it '$15000 worth of caramilk burnt'. due to the one case of caramilk listed on ebay for $1k back when they were very scarce. (profanity) that bitch

        • +1

Fake news! My local coles always has shelves full of the stuff, no shortages. Fake news my good sirs. fake news.

  • +1

    Is it that good?

    • +13

Disgusting. Do not buy the caramilk leave it for me haha.

    • +9

It's nice, but it isn't that great, tastes closer to white chocolate than caramel. Callebaut Gold is what I would have expected it to taste like.

      • +3

100% agree it tastes closer to white chocolate than caramel. I'd go further and say it's basically white chocolate with a very slight hint of caramel

        • Yeah it's like a mild white chocolate with a hint of caramel but I'm not a massive fan of white chocolate and for me this kind of hits the spot I love caramel and this doesn't necessarily have a strong taste of that but it's there

    • I tried it last week, it was nice but I didn't run out and buy another block!

    • +1

Tastes like dream chocolate. Get KitKat gold tbh

      • Does it taste like KitKatGold? If so I will pass. It's disappointing.

The OG or Dark is better IMO

    • I tried it yesterday, just tastes like white chocolate to me. Stupidly I paid full price…

    • Don't get multiple blocks.
It tastes the way I expected, like like the caramel chocolate you get in button shapes used for baking.
      Basically sweetened white chocolate.

    • I like it but I tend to prefer white chocolate to milk. It’s not that different to say Milky Way though, bit smoother but flavours in a similar line. Others who say it’s like Dream are likely close.

  • Caramilk has been deleted again.

    • Coles and woolies have deleted until early next year as Cadbury can’t keep up supply.

      • Post a source if you're going to make fear-mongering claims like that. I'm pretty sure while demand is still high, they can keep up now that people have realised it's no longer limited edition and can buy it in a less erratic manner.

The first week it was back people were buying handfuls of the stuff.. I think that effect has worn off.

i have heard the same as what dylanando said. From my cadbury rep

        • I’ve got sources ;).

          • @dylanando: Is there a purchase limit? if this is true I'm gonna drop some coin

        • I’ve seen a few articles quoting Cadbury reps advising that the initial production run is expected to sell out mid-November with the next run due to arrive in shops early next year. Here’s one: https://www.pedestrian.tv/bites/caramilk-twirl-secrets-out/

          • +2

@agentsmith: What’s the chance they’re using stock shortages as a way to drive hype. It’s chocolate, how long can it take them to produce more, for the Christmas period in particular. Bet they sell out and suddenly found a way to restock it a week or two later.

            • @Smigit: Almost definitely. There’s no way a company like Cadbury wouldn’t have the ability to maintain a constant stream of supply.

  • Cadbury Dairy Milk Hazelnut 180g is the only one worth your consideration.

      What year is it

    • +6

Aldi hazelnut choc is better tasting, less sugar, more nuts and cheaper($2.60 for 200gr)

      • +5

Almost all Choceur chocolate is superior to Cadbury products. And it's cheaper too.

        • I think it's back at $2, not sure which varieties though.

    • Frey Supreme Milk crunch Hazelnut from woolies is a good one. It has whole hazelnuts in it too

  • Caramilk is out of stock until next year.

    • Check other store, most of my local stores still has heaps left.

If they aren't in the confectionery section, check around the store for promotion stands.

    • Don’t troll!!

  • +2

I'm yet to see a block of caramilk in person. Every store has zero stock

    • +1

Lucky you. Its rubbish. Dont believe the hype - save your money and buy some chocolate from Aldi (like the Choceur Coffee Cream one) which is much better than Caramilk.

      • +1

Taking the advice of some interweb random on a matter of personal subjective taste is always justified.

  • +2

Heaps of them in Manuka Coles, Canberra

  • Surely regular Cadbury Milk Chocolate is part of this deal?

    Definitely my favourite

Looking forward to trying Caramilk for the first time too.

      Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate 180g

      • Thanks mate. Looks like the senility is kicking in for me.

  • +2

How did Caramilk become hyped, is this some lame media thing? might as well call yourselves sheeps

    • +3

Media Hype + re-release of discontinued product (available in Australian in the early-mid-1990s).

      • +7

It's the favourite form of journalism today. Company issues press releases to journalists, who then see a ready made article already written for them. Hit the send button, and… done! Another article written. Just have to add a clickbait headline.

"You won't believe what Cadbury has done!"
        "Retailers shocked by Cadbury's new…"
        "Cadbury has gone insane"

    • +4

Would you believe the plural of sheep is…. sheep.

      • +7

        Unbaaaaaalievable

      • It is chops

    • Cadbury probably paid News Corp big money.

  • +3

Consumption of marvellous creations is a pretty reliable designator of intellectual impairment.

    • That shit's disgusting. True abomination.

  • Anyone seen the new pineapple chunks one in the wild yet?

    • Saw it on Wednesday at a local IGA

      • We don't want domesticated, only wild.

    • only IGA stocks the lump blocks

  • Heaps of it at my Woolworth's, box's and box's stacked up near the self checkout but it doesn't look like anyone is buying it, even my servo has it on the counter been there for a couple of weeks now , I don't see what the big deal is I got 2 for $8.00 at the servo and I've only got through half a bar, it's nothing exciting IMO, way overrated .

  • +2

Proof the media / hype can make people buy anything… anything at all.

    • +2

THE CHOCOLATE BAR THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO HAVE

Click this headline to find out Cadbury's dirty little secret

      • +1

        Has science gone too far?

  • Still can’t find stock anywhere in Tweed..

  • +1

Caramilk is the most overrated chocolate I have every had the misfortune of tasting. People who like it have low standards.

  • Anyone else noticed that they always release a block size shrinkage or regular retail price increase with a half price sale?

    • Cadbury bars went from 200g to 180g about 6 months ago.

  • Does anyone think most supermarket chocolate blocks are now lacking in chocolate flavour?

  • so no dark choc? :(

  • When did $2.40 become the ‘new’ half price ?

Suddenly… no more $2…. just increase the price and no one will notice

    • They did that to Malteser gift boxes RRP $10 that was half price $5, now half price is $6.

Won't be getting my money. Also miss Dark Choc flavour anyway.

  • This stuff isn't even good - tastes mostly like white chocolate with a tiny hint of caramel.

If you are patient, you can make it yourself from ordinary white chocolate (and you get a much, much richer caramel flavour). Basically chuck it in an oven and bake at a low temperature and stir frequently until golden.

    https://www.davidlebovitz.com/caramelized-white-chocolate/

    • But im not patient and I WANT IT NOW </veruca salt>

Look its ok, I like it and would buy it again but its not my top of the list flavour of chocolate
