Your link says FHD just below the price btw.

    • Yeah this was top comment on the deal they tried posting earlier today.

Why would we buy a TV when the seller can't even get their info right?

The menu translations are awful on this tv. Broken Italian/English language

“FHD (Full High Definition 1920X1080 resolution)”
That’s not 4K? And no HDR

  • +1

When you posted the same TV this morning (before it was removed), comments asked what the resolution actually is. Your title says 4k but the TV description says 1080p. WHich is it?

    • The model they have given is 4k hence the UHD4k in the model name. plenty of mentions of 4k further down the page as well so i cant see any way it could not be 4k (they would have to return at their cost if all of that was false)

  • Technical details section including model number says it 4K but product description says otherwise.

    EDIT: Others beat me above

  • Stunning crisp and clear images on a $500 65" tv? yeahokmate

    I have one of these.

Picture is decent. xbox runs at 4k 60.
Sound is as you would expect, lacking in bass but otherwise passable.

The smart TV functions are the main issue. Essentially i cant use my one as a smart TV. Any time i hook it up to the wifi i get google play protect warnings pop up on the screen a few times a day. Even with a factory reset i get the same issue. Not sure if they fixed it in a firmware update in newer stock.

    • Have you checked your TV for updates?

      • I doubt it will matter.. I believe this tv uses the S805 processor. Given that a Mibox uses an S905 processor & that is considered to be fairly gutless, no Software upgrade is going to make this run that well.

I purchased one of these piece of crap TV's from Big W (For $549 on discount 2 days ago). My plan was to use it in a shop display, so didn't care to much about certain things. Here are my findings.

Note. This is comparing it to the Aldi 65" smart TV that I purchased for $799 straight after purchasing this one that I will be returning this week to Big W:

        • Remote responsiveness is complete rubbish.. Its laggy & you usually need to aim the controller direct at the TV to be able to navigate menus. The Aldi smart tv on the other hand, is fluid. It is using Bluetooth to the TV… Similarly my older TV that is also a Bauhn runs rings around this Viano piece of junk in comparison for controller responsiveness.

        • The Android running on it.. Total rubbish. Its clunky & is even questionable whether it can handle 4k @ 60 fps. No youtube video ran that well with it at these settings. No software upgrade in my opinion would make this run that well. Case in point look at the throughput difference between a S805 vs an S905 amlogic processer. https://www.cnx-software.com/2015/11/20/amlogic-s805-vs-s905…

        • The picture quality was ok.. Nothing really bad there.. Thats about its only saving grace it has..

        • Build quality was much the same as any other TV. It was however a little thicker compared to Aldi's offering.

All in all due to the total rubbish Android running on it I decided to return it and pay a couple hundred extra for something that is half decent. Thats saying something seeing Im only using it for a shop display.

In my opinion the Aldi tv's for $599 that were on sale the other week would have been a much better buy than this..Unfortunately you would have to dish about a little more cash (50-100 bucks) for a Mibox or vodafone tv box to get the Smart TV function equivalent going.

        • What did you think of the ALDI 65" for $799 as a whole compared to what else is around? I've got mine still sitting in its box as I'm about to move house but seeing so many sales for TV's at the moment I'm wondering if I wait for a better deal on a TCL/Hisense TV and I just return it to ALDI, with the deals coming up to Cyber Monday.

          • @remunro: the aldi 799 android tv is a good TV. The HDR on it is not even noticeable when its used though.

in my opinion tv's in this price range won't get any better than the Bauhn 799 TV. Sure, you can pay alot more and get better.. But you pay ALOT more.. I'm talking native 120hz TV's with QLED/OLED panels..

Only concern is its likely that updates on the android tv running on it will cease in the not to distant future.. I can't imagine a tv that is sold over a singular weekend once of is going to maintain updates to the code running on it for that long.. This issue I guess would be a problem for most tv's

      • Yep, there wasn't any a few months ago. Haven't checked since though.

    • Would this help with the play protect? https://www.wikihow.com/Enable-Google-Play-Protect

      • Play protect is installed. It pops up a message saying an ap (named test iirc) is trying to steal data.

    Reviews say:

    -poor sound (need sound bar)
-poor remote (need to buy a universal one)
-smart tv is problematic. apps like Netflix need to be re-downloaded to work. No support for Stan
-lots of other complaints about it being faulty within the first year with horrendous customer service

    I would avoid this one

    • But hey, it’s 65”!

  • This is no bargain… This is just a cheap TV in more ways than 1
