Uniden UH45-4: 4 Pack UHF CB Radio (Walkie-Talkie) w/ Kid Zone $78.90 + 8415 Points or 21039 Points (Was 23,377) @ Flybuys

20

Hi folks. I just ordered this 4 pack of CB radios with only Flybuys points (though "Points + Pay" is available too), and thought there might be some parents/group leaders that might be interested as well. I got it for the "Kid Zone" privacy function; yet, it is good that they are rechargable (or can take batteries) and have an in-built LED flashlight. JB Hi-Fi is selling them for nearly $100.

One review said the advertised 3 km range was hypothetical, and they got more like 1.5 km. Nevertheless, I'm not getting this for a real expedition, just kicking around the backyard/neighborhood/market/campsite.

  • Price in title please, and if points the number and dollar equivalent…

    21,039 pts
Equivalent to $105 cash out value.
Can be had for $85 delivered on ebay.
    I think OP got ripped.

    • Yep terrible deal

Nah, I didn't spend actual money on it. I saw these at Costco a while ago, and consider buying them then. I'm stoked to get them using bonus virtual currency.

Sometimes it's best just to use our rewards currency rather than sitting there. (Cost of Money)
I hear these things are great for family's on cruises.

        • I just get $100 Coles rewards cards every month or so and go and and purchase a different rewards card for whatever I need. Would never use points for products on there as they're all overpriced.

    • Thanks @battler. I updated those numbers in the title.

    • I mean.. what else can you spend flybuys on?

      • convert to cash. 200pts = $1.

        • So 21,039 points = $105.20 ?

Better off buying them elsewhere (or even better, buying different ones on Aliexpress with more features/better frequencies), and cashing out the points to buy food you can't get cheaper elsewhere. (Like meat when it's been discounted.)

      • ebay giftcard

  • To be clear, my links are for different models, but the same brand. But still seems a good price, if you don't need kids zone.

Yeah, the Kid Zone aspect was a primary motivation for me. These are definitely going in to some less responsible hands. 😆

Just be mindful, that all kids zone does is set the CTCS to 10, thereby muting unwanted audio for anyone transmitting without the same tone.

ie: Your kids shouldn't hear most of the freaks, but the freaks will still hear your kids.

  • Theses are $69 at Costco everyday…

  • These are 0.5W power in case anyone is interested.

I bought these for the Kid Zone aspect as well OP - very happy with them, the kids have an absolute blast with them, mostly "spying" on grown-ups, but also plan to take them camping. Didn't buy them for long distance use so can't comment on that.
However I must admit I got them off of eBay using one of their coupons at the time for about $72 delivered.
Irrespective, your kids will love 'em
