    finally get one delivered today. However, it is far from convenient to setup it.
    so far, the scan function is still not working. Tried follow the manual, however, there has no details for how to
    set up the SMTP severs for gmail, hotmail etc. Especially, this is quite old model, the default CA certificate are not recognized by gmail or outlook server. It is not supposed to be so complicated.

      I never bothered setting up SMTP on my previous Multi-Function (OKI). I just scan to computer (via network) instead. I'm assuming this can also be done on this Lexmark. I will find out today.

    So my printer arrived yesterday and I set it up and when I turn it on all it does is beep 5 times :(

      What is the 5 digit error code? Eg xxx.xx Generally you can search the error codes online.

        hey thank you for trying to help and sorry i never got back to you. The LCD doesn't turn on so no error codes, just beeping. They had a technician come and pick it up to repair it and they expect to return it to me Monday. They said it was a faulty power supply… I hope I don't have further issues after this.

          i would be surprised if anyone is still following this thread, but my printer still hasn't been fixed, but props to elite, as they have promised to send me a new printer

    Quick Review of the Lexmark Mx310dn

    Compared to my previous MFP, an OKI MB470

    Good Bits
    * Fastest printer setup ever
    * Powered on, network cable plugged in
    * Was able to scan to computer (over network) and print in under a minute
    * Reason is Windows 10 automatically detected the printer (over the network) and installed the required drivers
    * Scan automatically launched Windows Fax & Scan (No external app necessary)
    * Time to first print (for my <1MB test image) was super fast. Possibly due to the 256MB RAM

    Bad Bits
    * The Microsoft printer driver that gets installed automatically will not print in landscape LOL
    * Download Lexmark printer drivers to print in landscape (02/26/2017, 163.49 MB)
    * While you're at it, download the latest firmware too (01/08/2019, 93.98 MB)
    * The printer management GUI on the printer's web server requires JAVA on some tabs
    * JAVA for the most part has been deprecated on all web browsers
    * From what I can tell, they were all on non critical tabs
    * Need to do more scans. But maybe the scanner/resolution is not great

    Miscellaneous
    * This printer is designed to be placed on a low to medium height desk
    * Accessibility becomes an issue if placed on a filing cabinet like me (space constraint)
    * Build is similar but not on par with the OKI MB470
    * There are also slight but noticeable sounds when the printer drum gets engaged as well as when scanning
    * I believe this is an engineering issue but it does not affect the functionality of the printer.
    * If this is your first MFP/Laser, then you'd probably will not notice.

    Not the best printer. But the best value printer purchase I've ever made.

        There are a few ways you can scan:

        • Directly from the printer
        • From Windows Fax & Scan (Built-in windows App)
        • From Lexmark Printer Home (App installed with Lexmark drivers)

        From printer:

        • Select "Scan To Computer" from home menu. OK
        • Select computer (identified by computer name, eg. XIE-HOME-COMPUTER). OK
        • Printer scans and sends to computer
        • Windows Fax & Scan detects and saves to C:\Users\username\Documents\Scanned Documents
        • Benefits: Easy.
        • Drawback: No configuration option
        • Sample JPG scan: ~500KB (300 DPI)

        From Windows Fax & Scan:

        • Launch Windows Fax & Scan
        • Set configuration option. Click Scan
        • Image saves to C:\Users\username\Documents\Scanned Documents
        • Benefits: Moderately Easy.
        • Drawback: Scan DPI limited to 300 dpi
        • Sample PNG Scan: 6MB (300 DPI)
        • Sample BMP/TIF Scan: 26MB (300 DPI)

        From Lexmark Printer Home:

        • Make sure Lexmark printer drivers are intalled (02/26/2017, 163.49 MB)
        • Launch Printer Home (App)
        • Select Scan
        • There are a lot of options to scan. Choose Advanced Scan for the most comprehensive options.
        • Benefits: For Advanced Users
        • Drawback: Varies from easy to hard
        • Sample BMP/TIF Scan: 100MB (600 DPI)

            @xieyuanwei: Not yet. Scan to PDF is available as a shortcut button on the Lexmark Printer Home App, for sure though.

      Comes with "starter toner" which prints about 2500 pages
