  • Glad I lost to you Bryan and not the gorilla guy haha

      Your dupe got deleted so quick? Did you delete yourself or the mods were waiting for it?

    • Who is the gorilla guy?

        • Ok, thanks for providing a pic of your faulty clock, I would try a restart of your phone maybe?

        • -7

          Should of got an iphone

        • So you are basing it purely on your phone's clock… No wonder you're wrong.

          • +2

            @Hintswen: This was also posted before midnight. But since its Bryanalves, I will not say much. Too bad you think you are right. Last time a moderator confirmed it was posted before midnight, even though people like you think that your clock is right.

            • @askbargain: Harambe is alive!

            • +1

              @askbargain: Server says posted today.

            • +2

              @askbargain: Funny thing about that mod confirming it… I never saw the original post from the mod confirming it or how they came to that conclusion, considering the server itself reported that it was posted AFTER midnight, I think the mod did what so many others are doing… comparing their clock to the "x mins ago" text which is nonsense for working out if a post was before or after a certain time due to the way the site works out what number of mins to show.

              • @Hintswen: Can you speak in sentences? It is impossible to follow.

            • @askbargain: Who cares, no one is that anal that they would go off on a rant about it, oh…

          • @Hintswen: Phone time is updated automatically from internet time, so unless that's wrong it was posted before

            • @Wilder94: I never said your phone time is wrong. I am simply stating the fact that subtracting the number of minutes the website says the deal has been up for from your time is not the correct way to determine if a deal was posted before or after midnight.

            • +1

              @Wilder94: Oh and FYI This is how OzBargain shows the time since it was posted (not the exact code but from my knowledge of the site it's pretty much this):

              <?php
              if (time() - $posttime < 60) {
              echo (time() - $posttime) . " secs ago";
              } else {
              echo ceil((time() - $posttime)/60) . " min ago";
              }
              ?>

              If you know PHP then hopefully that makes sense as to why comparing what it says to your clock is wrong, if you don't know PHP here's a breakdown…

              First it checks if the time is less than 60 seconds ago, if it is it displays how many seconds ago. If it's not less than 60 seconds, it changes to displaying "mins ago" but the number of mins it shows it determined by dividing the number of seconds by 60 thus giving you minutes. That is great but what about 61 seconds? That is 1.016666666666667 mins. Rather than displaying a decimal it rounds up to the nearest whole number, so 61 seconds becomes 2 mins. This right here is why your (and all these other people) are wrong to compare their clock with what the site says.

              If the deal is posted at 12:00:01 (just a second after midnight!) 61 seconds later makes it 12:01:02 the website will say 2 mins ago, your clock will show 12:01. 12:01 - 2 mins = 11:59 hey look we traveled back in time.

              Don't believe me? Feel free to check the next time you see a post or comment posted less than a minute ago. Wait until it reaches 61 seconds old and refresh your page, you will see the site shows 2 mins ago.

        House price doubled? I will be more than happy to see if they are just doubled

        • (or more)

        • Dunno about ACT but my last place has quadrupled since 1995, I sold when it had merely tripled.

      I remember the price then because of cheap Tuesday date nights with my GF then - $6 movie tickets, $4 McD meals and it's 20 bucks well spent. lol

          Cheeseburgers*

          Also no one gives a shit about votes. This isn't a popularity contest. Even if it was your popularity is down the drain mate. People care about the deal, not you.

  • +6

    Lol how sad….

  • +1

    Quarter pounder is just a large cheeseburger. Fight me

    • +8

      cheeseburgar*

    • The patties on the Quarter Pounder are 2.5x bigger in weight than the cheeseburger so you aren't wrong there

      • yep, terrible meat:bread ratio on the cheeseburger, and on top of that no onions. they suck

    • +9

      Quarter pounder is how big a cheeseburger should be by default.

      • +5

        Yeah, the quarter pounder should have been called a cheeseburger and the current cheeseburger a 'two-fifths-of-the-meat-cheeseburger'. No need to argue imperial vs metric. Marketing team dropped the ball.

    • +3

      "Adults who prefer quarter pounders are just kids that never outgrew the Happy Meal and pretend to be all mature with their fancy-worded burger choices. Some would say their personalities as are uninteresting as their burger choices, but I think that's a bit harsh. To the quarter pounder."

      Overheard on the Penrith to Manly ferry. Don't fight me. Please.

      • I wonder what adult toys McDonald's would give away

            @Hintswen: oooo.. i'd fight you for the pink one.

            • @scud70: And you don’t even know pinky pies name. I’d prefer twilight sparkle or rainbow dash anyway better yet spike if it’s available)

              • @Hintswen: …. or i'm pretending not to, because you know i mean i'll fight you for it for my daughter .. cough

      • +2

        If quarter pounders are for adult kids, then what would double cheeseburgers be for? Fat kids? I can say that bc I’m big boned.

      • I feel personally attacked!

    DUPE

    Yea nah. The title is different.

  • -3

    Great BA the dedication on the great ones I’ll reward you with a vote :)

  • Had this last time.
    Anyone ever tried just eating the patty by itself? Pretty gross

    • +1

      If you tell them to cook the patty twice as long it tastes like an average steak.

  • Should of used the same description. Thats $4 for each meal which is really cheap. The quarter pounder alone is normally more than $4.

      Full price for the two meals was listed as about $15 on my receipt today.

      $8 feels like it should be the normal price.
