      • It's still big in the middle of the product page and also have a screenshot:
        https://www.wheelygoes.com.au/collections/segway/products/ni….

I'm just giving them some time for a response till end of the day as they might just be busy or something. If not I'll just have to try the charge back. Never done it before though.

        Thanks for the tip.

        • +1

yeah it's clear as day in writing, thus a consumer gurantee was made, so if they breach it, you have the right to a refund

    • So the chat support said: "Unfortunately, orders can’t be cancelled after it has been placed.".

Is this even possible with no refunds policy or terms & conditions on their site?

      • +2

That's ridiculous. If you haven't received the product, you are entitled to a refund.

        • i know right? I've checked their FB reviews and one guy who gave 1 star tried contacting them about a refund when they still had their T&C's up and refund within 30 days. They said no refund at all. Never got resolved and they don't answer anymore and I think it's also the reason they removed their T&C's and refund policy.

          • +1

@cocojumbo: I think it's time to let them know the ACCC will be getting an email soon if they do not process your refund.

    • does your credit card have price protection? perhaps put in claim with your bank
      :D

      • Yeah, will contact the bank now and see what they can do.

  • Any gift card deals going at JB?

  • +1

I knew I'd been saving up those Altitude reward points I got as a bonus for signing up with these credit cards. Cost me $28 all up! Couldn't be happier with this deal!!!

    • nice to think of it as only costing you $28, but you forgot to factor in opportunity cost ;)

  • +1

Do you get sore legs/feet after long rides?

    • I too would like to know this. I'm looking at a 12km each way trip

      • +1

I had an electric skateboard and you definitely do after a few Ks. Mine does around 20-30 min in. But I guess it depends on your fitness level and weight.

      • +1

i've only had leg fatigue after long rides on bumpy paths. if most of your commute is smooth bikeway, you'll be fine. The other good thing is if you're riding this thing daily, the leg fatigue will eventually disappear as your body builds muscle to reinforce the exercised areas. Scooting is also a hell of a lot of fun haha. Instead of getting stressed out at other drivers in peak hour traffic, you actually look forward to your commute (except if the weather is foul, in which case you can drive that day)

      • +1

I did get a sore leg after using it (the rear placed leg) at the start but after using it regularly that was reduced after fitness was built up.

  • +2

Just checked it out in person on jb. Jeez its heavy af. Not portable at all. Might get xiaomi one instead despite the very cheap price.

    • +1

I'm actually glad it's big. Hoping it'll suit my 192cm height and size 13 feet. Bought one.

      • Surely suit you without any problem! Grats with the new scooter. Im eyeing zero 8 now haha

        • The Zero 8 feels like the original Xiaomi M365 had a love child with a Monster Truck.

          In a good way.
And it folds down so tiny..

Our Kiwi mates are loving them
          https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=162&topicid=24…

My suggestion is watch a heap of YouTube videos on the Zero 8/9 & Ninebot Max & M365 Pro.

          • @systmworks: Yeh i like the zero 8/9, whats the real world range on these?

            • @richmond12: Mine only arrived 2 days ago - best to watch some YouTube reviews.

Rule of thumb (for all brands) is 30% less than what the manufacturer claims.

My smaller 10AH model is rated for 35 KM so I'd expect around 25 KM - so should easily do my entire weeks commute.

If you travel more than 5km/day consider the 13AH battery.

              • @systmworks: Thanks

Dam i also thinking of this or max

Zero 9 would be great if on special again

                • +2

@richmond12: Those lucky to score the Zero 9 for under $1,000 on Singles Day got a great deal - 600 watt rear motor obliterates the Ninebot Max/M365 Pro.

But for less than $850 delivered (using 5% off code), the almost identical Zero 8 (500w rear motor) is still a great price for a next-level scooter.

I just had my first ride to work, and the ride was smooth, quiet, and it powered up over the Goodwill bridge like it was flat.

The Ninebot ES2 and the Ninebot Max are quite different, but last night I took some side by side photos of my new Zero 8 beside my 1yr old Ninebot ES2 - https://imgur.com/a/XPVqTNc
                  Also, Zero 8 vs Ninebot ES2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZemLhvNv-8

                  • @systmworks: Thanks for the pics. The deck on the zero 8 looks quite short. I doubt I'd have room for both feet with my size 13s. How do you find your feet positioning?

                    • @bigrizz: I didnt notice an issue with my size 11 boots, but last night I did order the metal carry handle that goes over the rear mudguard - can be used as a step.

                      • @systmworks: $850 is for the smaller battery tight?

One of my main concerns is range, so need the bigger battery right?

                        • @richmond12: Correct - if you have a long commute, then big battery will be a high priority.

eScooters are generally considered a "last mile" commute tool, to go that short-ish distance from home to train, or train to work, or carpark to work etc.
However a scooter with decent range can be used as 'a bicycle replacement' for longer commutes like 10 or 15 KM.

The Ninebot Max was designed for the rental market (hence the massive battery, but low-mid motor power), but that also makes it great for a much longer than average commute.

For shorter (average length) commutes of 2-5KM the M365 Pro or more powerful Zero8 or 9 has other advantages.
Its a shame the M365 / Pro are front wheel drive (wheel spin when kicking up hill - which is needed with a lower power motor).

The Zero 8 with 13AH battery, or the Zero 9, are rated for up to 45K range, so ~30 KM should be real world figure.

      • How did you go?

  • +3

what kinda helmet is everyone rockin with this? i have a bike helmet, is this ok or do i need a full dome type of helmet?

  • +1

Reserved one at JB Hi-Fi Southland and just went to pick it up.

It stacks with this deal. Get a bonus $80 Woolworths voucher…

If you're going to buy, they're going quick.

  • +2

I bought one of these a week and a half ago, so when I got the JB email I was furious. Went back to the store and they manager was more than happy to refund me $200 (I paid $999 as a price match to PC Byte). My faith in JB was restored.

  • +2

Just picked one up this afternoon. Bit sad it has the speed capped to 25km. I sold my cfw m365 for this and I could definitely feel the difference as I would achieve speeds of up to 32 on the 365.

Anybody planning to modify the speed cap on theirs?

    • +1

I rode past a new Ninebot Max owner and had a chat about it. First thing they told me was that the scooter was 'slow' with a hard cap at 25km/h. Unfortunately don't think there's any custom firmware on the Max.

    • It’s slow relative to some scooters but given the laws will likely soon stipulate a maximum speed of 25kmph I don’t think it’s all bad. And it’s still fast enough. I sure as hell cant run that fast for any decent distance.

      • +1

Yeah 25km/h is 3x or 4x the average persons walking speed of 6-7km/h.

I can go the 1.5km between my work and train station in 4 mins…
Compared to a 12-15 minute walk (at 12 mins pace you work up a sweat).

  • Damn. Sold out already?

    • Looks like it is sold out online so you might have to phone local stores that normally stock it…
      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/segway-ninebot-scooter-store…

      • Do they match their online price?

        • Yes, "until Monday 25th November 2019." Your real issue might be to find local stocl close to you though…

          • +2

@Heaps for Cheaps: My local store was happy to sell me that price on a backorder

            • @oscinator1988: Which store is it? I have rung Chatswood Sydney store and they cant' do that. Saying $1199.
              How did you approach them?

              • @ozizoy: I just called them ask asking about stock. They said he's run out and next shipment wont arrive till after christmas. I explained I had the $400 off voucher and he said that's all cool, he'd be happy to process it through but again it might be a month wait.

                • @oscinator1988: I have successfully placed back order. They needed the email for the barcode because the code from ozbargain doesn't work on the cashier. At the end,the jb staff scan his code for me as my mail was deleted in spam mail folder. Overall I am very happy with their service. Thanks OP.

  • Crazy price.. Has anyone who already bought one elsewhere at a higher price had any success yet with claiming price protection on their card? I'm tempted to try, but have a feeling I will be knocked back due to it being a "coupon" price or something.

    • I claimed the money back on mine without any trouble - the coupon was generic too.

      • Nice. Any tips for submitting the claim? I'm hoping screenshots of the JB HiFi website will suffice as I didn't get the email.
