awesome phone! Got it last week and WOW its soo beastly!! Woo Off Iphone 5!

    • you should flash it with CyanogenMod, Miui or something else to make it the king of the beasts

      • is CM/MIUI out and stable for SGS II?

        • out and kinda stable for everyday usage

      • flashed it with KG3! rock solid!

  • +1

    wow…EPIC Fail..weight is 1 KG…..

    • +1

yeah if it wasn't for the 1KG weight I'd get one ;)

      • +1

it is 116 gram weight for the phone.

  • Ordered this last night. Hope it comes through. :O
Apparently it used to be cheaper (~$550) before they took advantage of the currency exchange fees.
Also heard the phone may not be sealed.

    • +1

Anyone know anything about this company? What is the warranty for this and where is it from?

  • cheap though! but I ordered a Sharp phone last week :(

    • root the phone, remove bloatware = simple. Most Nexus owners would know how root a phone and be stoked with this phone. i think you should stick to a prepackaged iPhone and refrain from making ill informed statements.

      • PLANT (or PLANTONE on Whirlpool) is a troll. i had a Nexus One but the SGS II is better than it in nearly every way.

Has anyone checked their website. Says nothing about the business or who they are. I'll be a bit careful Don't need another Shopping Square repeat.

  • Looks like they also operate an eBay store. If so, this is most likely HK stock.

    • All the recent S2 deals are gray imports, so all are from HK or there abouts. Being gray imports the 500-600 range would be the standard pricing, but somehow people still think they are a deal.

      • Indeed. Just putting it out there for those who might not be in the loop.

    • +1

Yes. Most likely HK stock, but could be from anywhere and then shipped from HK.

      At least two eBay accounts.

Recent (this year) Neg feedbacks include -

"Was sent Asian version. Can't even read manual. Firmware issues. Not impressed!"
"Misleading info, item in Hong Kong not in Sydney , tardy delivery"
"False advertisement, from hong kong not Aus."
"Stated item was in Sydney when in fact was in HKG. False customs declaration."

    Meh.

    • Ma.

  • I thought it was obvious, but yes, these look to be grey imports — I've made a note in the post to that effect. You won't find Australian stock close to this price (eg Mobicity $699 + delivery). There's always more risk buying overseas but the return is a significantly cheaper price.

    • You should really check out on the Blue Fly Mobile saga on whirlpool. The grey import seller literally took off with the money and went MIA.

      • That was mostly people who paid for things via bank transfer though. If you pay via Paypal or credit card you do have some recourse if the vendor goes bellyup or MIA. I would never buy anything using a direct bank transfer. Way too risky.

        • True enough, the focus was more on those people that tried to repair their malfunctioning phones under warranty after the merchant took off. If one's ready to take the gamble with warranty for gray imports, i suppose this is a fair go.

Mobicity is a grey importer selling "Majority international stock". Mobileciti on the other hand, is Aus-ticked Australian stock.

      • From my last experience with MobiCity, the support is just plain horrible with incompetent reps dealing with the missing item in my order.

  • +1

WTF? 3 negatives?? Why are people so unkind… LOL

Seriously… please.. show me where you can get this phone cheaper than $569 landed.

    • from me.. hahahha
anyway.. anything wrong with grey imports?

    • +4

That is because many whirlpool punter or ozbargainer are just naive or worse brain dead. People expect to peanuts and get a top of the range phone and with Australin warranty? What are you guys thinking

Costing for local stock from distrbutors already cost at least 550, and these people expect someone would sell a top of the line phone on $20 profit OMG.

If you want the Aus S2, just go through moneybackco and buy it on 12 month plan from vodafone. Price the plan at $10 a mnoth + the monybackco $84 cash back, you end up only pay $564 for the phone with Aus warranty. It doesn't take rocket science to work it out.

      1. This is around the standard pricing for grey imports therefore NOT A BARGAIN.
      2. If you have an Australian stock with warranty at this price, then it will be a bargain.
      3. As A3 pointed out, the business has no presence in Australia, no ABN, ACN etc.
      4. This is not ebay, paypal protection does not apply.
      5. So you are just trusting your money with this unknown entity.

These are just a few reasons why people have negged it. I haven't negged, but close to.

  • hope this is genuine

  • can anyone confirm receiving the phone from here?

  • +2

Got mine today. Ordered 28th. Received 31st. 4 days including weekend. Not bad.

    • +1

Cool. Was the box sealed when you got it? Do you know which country it came from and which type of plug the wall charger has?

  • awesome, thanks so much.
