I’m going to the USA for 6 weeks in Mar-Apr 2020. Should I buy 2x USA 30-day 5GB? Can I keep it until I activate it when I touch down in the USA on Mar 2020? Thanks!

    • +1

      Hey Ameowzon!

Yeah the best thing to do is grab 2 SIMs and swap them over after the first 30 days.

Yep, the SIMs don't expire until 2022 so you are all good!

Let me know if you have any further questions! :)

      -Aidan

    • From the 30-day USA SIM page -

      Must activate by 06/08/2022

No recharges available - this is a one-time use SIM

If you need multiple SIMs - Save 10% with code MULTISIM10 at checkout

No activation deadline this time for the Europe/UK/71 Country SIM? (travelling in mid-Feb)

Been waiting for a sale, great stuff :)

    • +1

      Hey Bugs,

No activation deadline, the Europe SIM does not have an expiry date.

Just hold onto the SIM until you land, pop it in and off you go!

      -Aidan

      • Cheers, purchased & well done on the donation to bushfire relief as well. Hope you guys are around for a long time!

        • Thanks for the purchase and the support Bugs! <3

    Hi Aidan,

Do you guys have other AT&T call and data option other than the unlimited one?

Going to Cali with friends and T mobile reception wasn’t as good in Cali..

    Thanks!

    • +1

      Hi Allenzil,

Unfortunately not, all of our USA SIMs that include calls work on T-mobile network.

Sorry I can't help out this time!

    Hi Aidan,
The Sims I have got from you over the last couple of years have all worked well so will get another for travelling UK end of first quarter 2020.
    Cheers
    ChrisO

    • Hey Chris!

Thanks for the positive feedback, I'm really happy we have been able to help :)

      -Aidan

  • Hi Aidan,
How long does the sim last without activation?
    Thanks.

    • Hey Rila,

Which SIM are you referring to?

The expiry date should be listed on the product page on our website but let me know and I can fill you in :)

      -Aidan

      • Hi Aidan,
The UK & Europe 30days sim.

In addition, when you say the sims are plug and play, do you mean there is no muck around with the mobile APN settings or any settings at all to use mobile data on iphone 7? I am planning to buy one for my parents and they are not very good with their phones.

        Thanks.

        • Hey Rila,

Yes, the UK/Europe SIM has no expiry, meaning you can hold onto it until you travel.

The only thing your parents will need to do is

          1) Insert the SIM
          2) Turn on 'Data Roaming' in their mobile settings.
          3) Restart their phone (this just activates the SIM quicker)

          That's it!

APN settings will be installed automatically :)

We have instructions on how to turn on roaming in our Customer Articles here.

Let me know if I can help with anything else.

  • Travelling to Japan between 25 march and 7 April can I buy this an activate on the 25th of march?

    • +1

      Hey Trarob!

Yep you sure can! Just hold onto the SIM until you land and the SIM will activate as soon as it connects to the network.

      -Aidan

      • What's the expiry date of the sim card? The last day to get it activated.

      • Hi do you have japan sim card for longer than 15 days?

  • Hi Aidan, how is the reception in Philippines and is it 4G or 3G there ?

    • Hi Lordsina!

It's 4G and you can read reviews from customers who have used it in the Philippines by going to the product reviews and typing in 'Philippines' into the search bar.

I haven't used it personally myself but we've had customers satisfied with it :)

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

  • I just ordered for my trip to Thailand in December. Usually, I buy a prepaid SIM when I land so I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes. Thanks again!

    • Epic! Thanks for the purchase my man!

      -Aidan

  • What would be the option for 21 days in Japan?

    • +1

      Hey m2000,

      Your best bet would be:

      2x SEA 12 Day SIM
(The SEA SIM works in Japan)

You would have 8GB in total and it would cost $45AUD all up.

Let me know if you have any questions :)

      -Aidan

      • Rep,

How do you arrive with $45 for 2 SEA sim cards?

        • +2

Poor maths would be the answer to that!

          $52.50 all up, my bad!

          -Aidan

          • @SimsDirect: In your description above, it also says $22.50 for each SEA SIM card.

            • @Klang: Thanks for spotting that! Corrected.

  • Hmm I'm thinking about the 15-day sim for japan but I'm not sure if 6gb is enough data for the amount of google maps i'll be using…

    • +1

      Hey q28,

6GB is plenty for google maps usage.

On average google maps uses 0.74mb per 20 minutes.

Meaning you would need to use google maps for 2200+ hours to use up all 6GB.

      -Aidan

    • +2

try this, $20 optus for 14 days, with 10GB.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/494831

      • Yes. It is the major competitor, but limted to Mainland China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, UK and USA.
At this stage, not sure how good is Optus Prepaid Roaming?
Simdirect are very goood so far.

        • i was mostly replying to q28. you sound like a rep?

          • @artypig78: Cheers mate that looks perfect.

        • +2

I've used both Optus and a Simsdirect SIM in Japan and they both roam to the same network. The only difference is the cost. So in that instance it comes down solely to cost.

If Optus supports the country you're going to, and it works out cheaper, it certainly seems like a better option.

    • +4

You can also predownload the maps before you go.

  • Do internet speeds for the USA one get limited after a certain allowance? Or is it 4g speeds for literally unlimited amount of data.

    • Hey Jaystea,

The internet speed will be uncapped up to 32GB of usage, then capped to 1mbps after 32GB.

1mbps is enough for maps and messaging apps but don't expect to be watching any HD videos at this speed.

Hope that clears it up! Let me know if you have any further questions .

      -Aidan

  • Any good option for 18 days in Japan? Or do I just use a 15 day Sim and wing it for the last few days (in Tokyo)

    • Hey Alzori!

      Nothing for 18 days unfortunately!

You might have to wing it haha!

      -Aidan

  • Heading to NZ for Xmas. Good timing.

    • Thanks for the purchase astro! Cheers!

  • Hi SimsDirect
Looking to go back to Scotland next year, who is the service with? When I went in October this year, O2 and 3 were next to useless in northern Scotland.

    • Hi myocum,

Its with ThreeUK, so it might be worth looking for an EE SIM at the airport instead.

      Sorry I can't help!

      -Aidan

    • I've been to Scotland a few times and always struggle for coverage in regional areas (such as the north), regardless of carrier. Low population means low investment from carriers.

Maybe EE will give you some signal, but probably not 4G in remote areas.

      Enjoy Scotland!

  • Do u have anysim for 14 days in the Us

    • +1

      Hi nguyentran,

The cheapest US SIM would be our 5GB USA SIM.

We do have a 15 Day version but its more expensive! So the 30 Day SIM is your best bet.

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

      -Aidan

  • +1

Thanks, OP. Just right in time for my NZ trip.

    • +1

      No worries! Safe travels :)

  • +3

Also, we will be donating $1 of profit from every order placed during the Blackout Sale to Red Cross Australia Disaster Relief

    You guys are fantastic.

I don't need a SIM so I'll donate some money instead!

    • +2

      Legend! Good stuff!

  • -1

    Hi OP

Any chance you can match/compete pricing with this Optus deal?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/494831

I'm travelling Singapore and Thailand for 12 days next week

    • +5

      Hey unistudent1,

      Unfortunately I cannot!

We don't have the buying power to compete at those prices, we are a tiny business compared to Optus… maybe one day though!

      -Aidan

  • Thanks guys. Just scored 2 for NZ and another one for France, Portugal and Spain for next year. I notice that this one doesn't work in Morocco. Is this correct? Awesome deals and thanks once again.

    • Cheers bundyoz!

It does not work in Morocco unfortunately.

Have a great trip and reach out if you need anything from us!

      -Aidan

      • +1

Thanks….will do and good luck with it all!

  • Is there a USA and Canada version that's more than 3GB?

    • Hey Lawyerz,

We have a 6GB/15 Day option you can checkout here.

Other than that we do not have anything else :(

Working on our Canada range at the moment and hope to have something soon!

      -Aidan

    Hey Guys,

The team and I are heading to bed, we've got a big day tomorrow!

Thanks for the support so far everyone <3

  • Can these be used in a pocket wifi device? Heading to Europe over Christmas and would appreciate some data

  • I'm travelling to Japan in March to April 2020, ok to purchase now?

    • +1

Link to the Japan one says it needs to be activated by 31/10/2020

Click on the link to find out more.

    • Hey Lippy,

      Yep all good!

      -Aidan

      • Thanks Aidan. Just to clarify, I can't use both the Black25 code and the MULTISIM10 together?

  • Hi Aidan

I'm going to Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia in march 2020. What sim can you recommend and is it OK to purchase now?

    Cheers pal

    • Hey Weezle,

I would recommend our SEA SIM Card

It covers all those countries on 4G and will not expire until 31/12/2020, so it's fine to purchase now :)

Let me know if you have any further questions!

      -Aidan

      • Do you have anything that works longer than 12 days or should I just buy 2 of them as I'm going to be away for 30 days?

        Cheers :)

  • +1 Can recommend this.
I bought one early this year and went to Europe a few months later (Italy and France).
It worked well. I note the prices have come down a bit since then too.
Shame there is no e-sim, but I would use them again if travelling in the future.

    • Thanks for the support Zippy!

Glad we could help out :)

      -Aidan

  • Thanks OP. Scooped up the unlimited prepaid NZ plan for our trip.

    • Nice! Thanks for the purchase <3

  • Just bought a couple of Europe sim cards for our trip next year. Previously bought and used the Japan sim card for a two week holiday and it worked a treat. Thanks!

    • Thanks booksmaker! Reach out if you need anything from me :)

      -Aidan

      • Already received these in the mail - super quick delivery! Thanks!

  • I’ve used these guys before and they post the cards fast and have always worked perfectly. Recommended!

    • Thanks for the positive feedback 00!

  • Great deal. I've used another company on previous trips, and looking forward to getting the same level of service from SimsDirect.

    • Hey WhyPayRetail,

Thanks for giving us a shot! We'll be here if you need anything :)

      -Aidan

  • Do you have Vodafone UK sim?

    • Hey hongtien20,

We don't have those in stock unfortunately!

  • Can I use this SIM in a pocket device?

    • Hey Ameowzon,

Which SIM are you referring to?

      -Aidan
