I noticed a discussion was posted in the forums, but after talking with the Amazon chat I reconfirmed that it is indeed the Motherboard and CPU in this combo. It's an excellent price as the deal is cheaper than the CPU itself, and despite the questions on the listing confirmation from Amazon chat confirms the deal or at the very least will support your claim for a refund or fulfilment of the items.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Mobo: MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO CARBON WIFI

CPU cost alone is approx $500, meanwhile, the Motherboard is around $400.

I've included the chat transcript below in case of any doubt, or if you need it in future:

EDIT:
I spoke to yet another rep, this time they took around 10 mins to come back to me with an answer, and same outcome:

My chat rep yesterday said it does NOT include CPU.

Nearly identical deals have been posted before and they don't come with CPU regardless of what they say.

    • The thing is, the listing clearly states it is the CPU w/ Motherboard, it's sold by Amazon US and not a third party, and I have provided a screenshot with a rep saying it includes both. Given this listing isn't specifically new, it should mean this deal should stay?

      • I've purchased one before -

You'll get sent it WITHOUT CPU and its just a waste of time - cause you'll need to send it back.

Edit: I had a chat before purchasing too - they confirmed but it never came with one.

    • +2

I have noticed that the previous deal is sold by third party seller (MemoryC USA). However this deal is sold by Amazon US so it may make a difference.
P.S: Can confirm the last deal only come with 1 M/B. Returning was easy with Amazon tho.

    • Thank you for reconfirming my belief. Feel good that I'm not imagining things LOL.

  • +8

100% does not include the CPU.
This has been discussed on many forums/times previously

    • Were they for third party sellers or Amazon itself? For this, Amazon US is the seller.

  • Have seen this in the last 3 weeks, the reason why I didn't take it up because like others have said, I'm absolutely sure that is the motherboard only.

    • -2

I'm on with another chat rep to confirm again. This is a Amazon US listing, and not a third party one like previous.

    • A deal as good as this would have run out a long time ago and don't need the Black Friday to get people's attention.

      • The previous deal was with third party seller though

  • +2

    $394.20

meanwhile, the Motherboard is around $400.

Seems fairly obvious what you are getting..

However, as noted in forum post, if Amazon is the seller and has clearly been made aware of the issue yet done nothing to clear it up, at what point does it become almost a bait and switch?

  • +2

    Too good to be true.

  • +5

    They have 2 options:

    CPU with MoBo = $394.20

    CPU without MoBo = $545.00

Either they shouldn't be running a business or you're not getting the CPU with your order. The sceptic in me thinks they may be hoping people make the purchase and CBF to send it back/debate the issue properly. The motherboard is a $400 board so it's pretty safe to assume the first option is just for the MoBo and the second is for the CPU.

    • This ^^^ .. Can I really be bothered packing back up and returning.

    • +1

Actually, as a matter of fact, I have argued with them over the phone, trying to get the CPU only for $394 because when you do a search 3700X that is what comes up but no dice, unfortunately.

  • +1

You will only receive the motherboard with this order. I've talked to a rep and they seem unsure.

Looking at the US site of this listing, theres no option for CPU + Mobo.

Don't order unless you want to wait and be disappointed

  • +4

OP, I don't think it'll come with the CPU.

As it is sold by Amazon US, then probably good idea to check the original listing on Amazon US, which is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T4M3RTR (they share the same ASIN code, which is B07T4M3RTR).

In the Amazon US' original listing, it is motherboard only.

Thanks for posting and good try though, it is a great price if valid.

    • +1

Absolutely this. ASIN is what you need to go by to determine what you get.

Recently, Canada had a 3800x/3900x error (swapped prices and description but ASIN would’ve told you that you’re ordering a 3800x, not a 3900x). Amazon only budged to offer discounts (cheap 3800x with 20% discount) because everyone was phoning in to complain and they’d be processing hundreds of returns while being stuck with 3800x inventory.

  • This must be a price error

    • +1

No price error just a listing error.

      • Yeah on the picture its the motherboard only.

  • +1

Super good deal if you get both. A bit risky though.

  • Plenty of feedback where people have stated they only received the motherboard. Would avoid

  • Even if it is sold by Amazon, when you only get the motherboard I doubt they will then send out the CPU.

BTW would this combo be a good upgrade from I5 4690/Z97 system?

    • +1

Yes it would be without a doubt.

      • Damn, wish I could be confident that it was the CPU and the mobo…. if it isn't then I couldn't justify the cost.

  • +3

If this deal gets honoured it will be one of the top 10 ozbargain deals of 2019, huge savings. I’d purchase but I don’t have any patience to go through the effort of returning the motherboard when it falls through. Good luck to anyone taking a punt though.

  • I just bought it ,, now to check with the customer service

    • Did customer service say both will be shipped?

      • said they will get back to me in 2 days

        • Already bought, delivered, returned. It is just the Mobo. You may as well cancel the order now or wait 2 weeks for your refund.

  • +3

Amazon reps said they have already raised a ticket for the item as they know its wrong

    • +3

Post up a screenshot so we know.

  • I wouldn't trust the chat rep solely because both of them are Indian… This is coming from an Indian so its not a racist comment, right?

    • +17

and why would we trust you then?

      • Coz he's an ozbargain Indian? We can trust him right???

    • …how would you know that they are Indians…? They could be white Aussies…or yellow Chinese….

      • Their names

        • hey man I had a colleague named Alejandro Wilson. And both his parents had no latin in them.

  • +2

All the questions at the bottom of the page also get answered as mobo only…. way too good to be true :(

    • Actually, the first one says they get both.

      • The first says chat said they will get both. It is not actually someone saying they got both.

      • +1

they probably had a chat to the same reps you did :) … i dont know if i trust those guys as they'd just be reading what the description is.. the reviews linked to the item are all for mobo and its either a listing "mistake" by amazon or a way to drive up sales and worry about the returns later… i'm in a retail company they for some reason tend to only look at what got sold and not so much what got returned hahahaha …. the way these things get uploaded or linked to an item in the backend isnt full proof .. although id hope amazon had a better system than us but its millions of items so i can see it being pointed to the wrong SKU or something even though somewhere it was meant to be a bundle.

  • Ordered. Now just wait and see…

    • +11

      Enjoy your motherboard!

  • +1

    Got a reply from them.

    amazon customer support

  • +3

I just did a chat and the rep was aware of the issue and its motherboard only, no cpu.

  • +13

    Remove the .au and see
Regardless of what chat rep said, the order will be fulfilled according to the dp/B07T4M3RTR which is a mobo. The only difference is shipping to AU instead of US.

    • You smart. I think this is the winner.

    • Damn I think you're right. I've already ordered, but…

      • +1
        1. Order now.
        2. Think later.
        3. Complain to Amazon.
        4. Get free store credit as an apology.
        5. ???
        6. Profit.

And there you have the six step plan for easy free money.

  • +1

The review basically don't talk about the chip at all. They just review the mobo.

  • Ordered also. Will update when it arrives.

    • +4

You could sell the motherboard even for $100 and still profit.

    • Why is the motherboard trash, the X570GPCARBWIFI has a lot of features, PCIe 4.0, USB 3.2 Gen 2, AX Wi-Fi 6, etc and gets good reviews at Amazon US and other places

      • It has no features that most other x570 boards don't have, and many features that similar price boards have are missing. It also has one of the worst VRMs of all boards. It wouldn't have been worth buying even if it was priced at the entry level.

You shouldn't be buying PC hardware based on clueless user reviews, there are real reviewers out there.

  • Just got off chat, no CPU.

    • Want to upload a copy of the chat?

  • +1

Just got off the chat as well. No CPU

  • yup, its a listing error, just confirmed with chat, sorry no pics

  • +15

    You won't get this.
    1. Chat rep says NO CPU included.
    2. This will get lost because they'll ship it with Fastway couriers.

    • +6

      Upvote for the fastway comment.

    • doyouknowwhy?

  • +1

So chat reps are contradicting themselves?

  • +1

OP, why didn't you order one (before posting this) and prove these guys wrong? Take pictures once your board and CPU comes for proof.

  • +5

I bought it and it was just the Mobo. The chat person still thought it was a kit and should have the processor in it, but made me send it back to the US and reorder and the next one came as just a mobo. They just refunded me. It is not worth your time.

  • +2

This equates to a $394.20 loan to Amazon

    • And then $30-$60 store credit when they give our money back.

      • Not so sure you will get any credit. I wouldn't bother risking the potential time waste of having to return

        • I've received around $150 credit from previous errors.

          • +1

@Canberran: I didn't get any credit this time

            • @curtturtle: Less likely to credit a one off maybe. Most OzBargained pricing errors receive some compensation. Fingers crossed.

Sorry you went through all that.

  • +1

They changed the ad, it is clear what you get now. This is now only a MB for 390 or CPU for 500+

    • Actually, they removed the ad. Now it's from:
Ships from and sold by MyPCStore. Only 1 left in stock.

Sorry for neg, can't remove for some reason. +1

  • Looks like all those people who ordered it will be sending their products back.

  • +1

should have ordered for the sake of getting store credit. damn.

  • I can't update the original post for some reason, but it seems Amazon has fixed the listing to be motherboard only.

    • +1

Actually, they removed the listing. Now it's from:
Ships from and sold by MyPCStore. Only 1 left in stock.

  • Tried to add to cart and it comes up empty… definitely looks like pricing error and the listing is being updated.

  • Listing has been updated. No CPU AND the price went up haha.

    • Actually, they removed the listing. Now it's from:
Ships from and sold by MyPCStore. Only 1 left in stock.

  • I bought it before it got fixed, chat rep told me, and confirmed twice, that it was the CPU and motherboard. Worst case I have to send it back at no expense, just a pita, best case I get a cheap upgrade. Here's hoping!

    • I bought it too and it was only the mobo

      • Did you get to keep the mobo? Or ask for some compensation?

They normally give your 10, 20 bucks if it's their error.

        • I asked for compensation. But the Aussie rep kept thinking it was a mistake and I should reorder from the US. So they didn't give anything

      • You mean you've bought and received the product? And they only shipped the mobo? Was the seller Amazon US or MemoryC?

  • Reminds me of those 20X sandisk micro SD card deals.

  • +2

I got a confirmation email from the Amazon AU rep I contacted:

I have checked with the Global team, and unfortunately you were right to be concerned- this item did not include a CPU, and has been removed from Sale until the issue is resolved.

You will need to cancel this order ############# , as I do not have the Authority from you yet to do so. Or you can contact >us, and we can do this for you.
I'm really sorry for the inconvenience of having to do this, and I have extended your Prime Membership for 1 month for free, until >Saturday, 25 January 2020.

    I hope this helps!

Tl;dr: No CPU, only motherboard and free 1 month of Prime for compensation.

    • LMAO - They want you to cancel to help unwind the mess they created

  • How do I chat to rep?

  • +5
  • Usually if it is a pricing/listing error, the business would stop sale and issue refunds. Amazon is not cancelling the order though, so my question is, if the payment do go though, would they only send the motherboard even though the order clearly states the CPU? That's basically fraud.

    • They haven't dispatched it yet but that's a valid question.

      • They've taken down the product which means they know about the issue, but they didn't contact those who bought it. I wonder if they're just gonna quietly take our money and give us just the motherboard.
