Thanks BA! Reminder for everyone to view all our various Black Friday deals on our Account Page.

Hi Luke, is there going to be a ryzen 3500x paired with 5700xt Black Friday deal? Thanks

      • +1

Plenty of requests for this and it will be the same as the previous deal effectively, so I may repost it. But the current deal code is still active for this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/494843

        • +1

How long will that deal be up?

    • Hi Luke

I tried to PM you but it says you are overseas user.

Can I please have tax invoice too? PM me please.

      Thanks

  • +1

    Clean.

  • is the 1660S worth the extra 229 compared to the rx580?

Considering yolo-ing into the 5700xt as well, cant tell if this is good value for the extra 500, I'm interested in what ozb reckons.

    • +1

As always, it depends. One thing to note is that driver optimisations mean that some productivity software gets a decent boost using NVIDIA over AMD for similar specced GPUs. See puget systems website for benchmarks and comparisons.

    • +4

Good deal in its base form, the upgrades are where you lose a little value.

      999 with RX580, Biostar RX580 worth approx $200-$250.

+$500 for 5700 XT, MSI Mech can be bought currently for $550 separately.

Better of selling the 580 separately +$200 and buying the 5700XT -$550, net $350 for the XT upgrade. This is assuming you can sell 580 for $200.

Similar value loss for all their upgrades unless discounted.

      • You'd get less than $200 because it'll be sold as a used part

        • I did a quick look on OzB/ebay/staticice, RX580 while not Biostar are going for $250+… So I said 200 for best case.

        • maybe you could get them to assemble everything EXCEPT the gpu!

          • @thepigs: You'd pay like $50 less.. I'd rather get the card and sell for $140 - $200 (best case)

            • @scottySK: I mean get them to ship the whole PC assembled but the GPU still in its box…

              • @thepigs: Ah yep, definitely ideal if you only want to sell it on

    • Wait a few days until they have this build with the 5700XT as standard it should be a bit cheaper than adding it on.

      • How do you know this?

      • i waited and 3500x sold out

  • Can you have this option on ebay too? Wouldnt mind higher price but i would prefer to get it from you than dell..

    • +3

Unfortunately not, the eBay side of things really doesn't work for us at the moment for heavily discount items.

      • i think he means list it for a higher price on ebay to take into account the fees because he might have discounted ebay giftcards

        • +6

Yeah. But higher would be way higher, not a little higher. eBay isn't working for us or the customer with seller fees etc. Needs a review on what systems are best placed there, but these sorts of deals are nowhere near possible, to the point where the increase needed would put anyone off.

          • @luketechfast: ahh ok i thought it was just increasing the price by 15% ish cuz thats the fee ebay charges for casual sellers so might be different for you guys. fair enough.

          • @luketechfast: Feebay charge way too much fees. Normal account selling anything is total of around 17% fees when including PayPal.

    • why would you want higher price?

      • +2

Most likely they have discounted gift cards to spend

  • Any chance we can see a low-cost 8gb NVIDIA card for video editors? A 1660s or 2060s would do it.

    • The 1660 Super is there for + $119. The previous 3700X/1660 Halloween pricing isn't achievable because of non super 1660s not being available at that price anymore, so 1660 Super is the one we can get and that's the lowest price point.

      • Thanks for the quick reply.

My mistake, I was mainly asking about 8gb cards and for some reason I thought there was an 8gb variant of the 1660s.

  • Which particular Galax 2080 Super variant do these come with? looking to avoid single blower fan models

EDIT: Would also like to know what PSU it comes with and which PSU the $49 80+ Gold upgrade is

    • +2

1-click OC for the Galax 2080 Super. We don't use any blower GPUs.

Bundled PSU is Thermaltake Litepower and Gold is Gigabyte G750H.

    • Gazette,

Which one you get in the end?

1-click OC for the Galax 2080 Super or upgrade to MIS one? May I know why too? Cheers

  • I think im just blind… where do i enter the coupon code?

    • checkout page.

    • +1

If on PC, immediately on the checkout page

If on mobile, I believe it's either before inputting payment method or before confirming payment.

  • +1

Whats your recommendation Pc choice for a intense video making pc build ?

    • Thread Ripper 3

    • Thread Ripper 3, 12GB or more VRAM graphics card, 4K or 5K HDR display, 32 GB RAM, NVMe SSD(s) + large hard disks.

  • Can someone tell me which GPU is better for video and photo editing? Thanks

    • +1

from my research, more core is better for video and photo + multi tasking, but R5 will do, if you are budget limited.
premiere pro still need proxies on R5

    • Probably best to look up what GPU is supported by the specific software you use.

  • +2

So if I buy one of these I will instantly become more productive?

    • +12

      The correct term is productiver.

    • +4

No, the gaming part of it cancels out the productive part.

  • +8

pretty close to what i am building for myself.. budget pc for photo + video editing

    AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor
MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard
    G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6 GB OC Video Card
Cougar MX330-G ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CXM 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

ordered from different seller ebay mostly from computer alliance, FTC, futu
ending up after the discount here and there $1336.65 + stress builgin it + wasting time researching + own time building up the rig + windows 10 which need to be purchased… using old keyboard + mouse + monitor

this post of techfast is pretty good price….

    • Thanks for the comparison!

  • Just wondering what everyone's opinion on USB wifi-adaptors are? The last one i used was absolutely horrid, and think I've been hesitant to get a new pc without inbuilt wifi and BT.

    • I just used a PCIe to m.2 Wifi adapter card, paired it with Intel AX200. WiFi 6 + Bluetooth 5 sorted. You don't need to buy an expensive motherboard to get that kind of combo if you really want WiFi. The only tricky part is installing the antenna connectors to the AX200 is tricky because the connectors are so small. Connectors must be installed properly otherwise the WiFi card won't work.

USB WiFi adapters, my experience is that, feeBay ones might be dodgy. Branded ones - cheap one have limited speed, above average one is far too expensive to be worthwhile.

      • +1

Why not just get a PCIe Wifi / bt combo card?

    • I've been using a cheapo one for a couple of years, even bent after the 2 year old attacked it it still works fine, gets speed tests of 36 mbps download and 22 upload on nbn.

    • I've been using the TP-Link T4U with my new TechFast build for the last few days and have no complaints.

  • Do you still get the game codes?

2 with 3800x and another one with 5700XT?

    • Yep!

      • Thanks, what's the ETA for shipping?

        • -1

          edit removed

        • +1

Ordered 7 Nov, haven't shipped yet. So I guess 1 month or plus?

          • +1

@dogejimmy: Can you PM me your order details? Shouldn't be many in that scenario so I'll need to chase up

        • Iirc they're back to 7 - 10 days after the 3500x stuff. Luke will probably conf though.

          *sorry, business days.

    • What game codes are these?

  • +1

Keen to see your deals for 3950x with 3600mhz memory! Pre-orders??

    • 3950 not until next allocation comes I, probably in the new year
      And preorders not allowed evidently!

  • Great deal!
Which b450 motherboard is included in the upgrade?
    Cheers

    • Standard is MSI Pro VDH. We're looking at an ATX B450 with Wi-Fi but haven't confirmed yet is MSI Mortar OK with prospective buyers? Upgrade price would apply.

      • MSI Mortar b450m for the $99 upgrade would be perfect. Let me know if that can be arranged!

        • MSI Mortar B450 added for $129 (non WiFi - not enough stock available to guarantee on that model).

      • Also interested if MSI Mortar is the mobo supplied for the "AMD B450M Motherboard $99.00" upgrade option.

      • If you can snag the gigabyte auros pro elites for that wifi board it'd probably be the best. Inferior hardware to the gaming pro carbon but gigabyte is the best in regards to software support this gen afaik. The gaming pro carbons bios is also fairly rough thanks to the bios chip stuff.

On the upgrade option. The mortar is an excellent board, pretty much a tomahawk in m-atx form factor. Although I'd be curious to know if that'd be the max or non max version?

      • is the atx b450 with wifi available now as an option?

        • Tomorrow.

The Mortar won't be the $99 from the B350 but I'll get pricing.

        • MSI Mortar B450 added for $129 (non WiFi - not enough stock available to guarantee on that model).

          • @luketechfast: Does the MSI 2080 Super Block the PCI (and M.2) slots on the Mortar?

Looking at adding an existing wireless card I have but looks like there will be clearance issues with the size of the 2080S?

  • Can you make a 10yo's fortnight dream please!! RGB case, RGB RAM, 1660S, 3500X, 16GB 3200Mhz, 1TB SSD!

    • All doable with upgrades!

  • Any chance to get a deal with 3700x and 1600/ 1660s?

    • +1

Second - 3700x and I'll buy straight away.

    • This is the equivalent due to our supplier promotion. It doesn't work to go down to 3700X for less in terms of the pricng available to us. So it's 3800X at 3700X pricing. 1660 also not available pricing wise at the moment, hence Super upgrade for $119 rather than bundled 1660. How that makes sense.

      • I bought anyway - I couldn't beat it with an ebay 3700x & 2070 super.

So thanks for a great deal!

How long will it take to be ready?

        • We're clearing many orders that are overdue tomorrow and over the weekend into early next week, with the anticipation that Black Friday systems purchased this week will be at 10 business days.

  • Wondering if anyone can tell me if it's worth getting the extra cores and threads on a 3800x when compared to a 3500x for about $200 more?

I bought the 3500x a couple of weeks ago (status unfulfilled) and now I'm wondering if I'd be better off cancelling that and getting this rig.

I'd be using it for Office work, some Photoshop, and usually have over 30 browsers open on Chrome.

    • +1

The comparison between the two in light windows use will be minimal, I suspect. If you have the funds get the more cores.

  • Are the case upgrades worth it for thermals? worried about the blower video cards being super hot.

    • +1

We don't use any blower cards. The Thermaltake cases with mesh fronts have superior airflow.

  • +1

I can't even build an EBay PC with less parts cheaper than this.

  • +2

A big positive for these builds is that BioStar are one of the few motherboard manufacturers that have implemented the new AMD 1.0.0.4b BIOS in their B350 boards. This brings massive improvements for Ryzen 3rd generation. Big motherboard companies like ASUS or MSI have NOT done this, so good for Biostar to support all their motherboards.

    • +1

      Thanks for the info.

  • Does anyone know if I request the Pc to come in parts if the b350m mobo will still work with zen2?

    • Yep they do.

  • +1

Best value is RX580 and RTX 2080S and Ti bundles. Biggest discounts to individual prices ~ 20% savings!

  • Looks interesting but gonna wait for tomorrow to hope for a 2080/2080ti 3700x deal for less
Any plans for something similar, really want to get a good 2080ti deal since the upgrade price is probably more than a bundled system price

    • Howdy. We don't have plans for anything 3700X as this is the one from our supplier, 3800 at 3700 pricr. We dont bundle 2080Ti so this is our lowest price for that
      Cheers.

  • +1

Hi Luke, what would be the estimated shipping time for your builds?

    • Copy from above, We're clearing many orders that are overdue tomorrow and over the weekend into early next week, with the anticipation that Black Friday systems purchased this week will be at 10 business days.

  • +2

What makes it "productivity" as well, compared to the other PCs that only have "gaming"?

    • +2

I would like to know as well

    • +1

It's as much to call it out for people who have been asking for it around thus price point as anything. The 3800X offers comparatively more performance than the 3700x at the same price in this deal. There is also the 3900X but it starts several hundred dollars more, of course with a big jump, but I felt this was the one people were asking for.
