nothing on iPhone 11, 11 pro before anyone asks

  • +1

    No iPhone 11 pro :(

I really do think Apple has great phones but god damn are they stinge af :( like the iPhone 11 pro is a freaking good phone… if it was $1.3k like the top samsung or huawei, not bloody $2.0k (and base storage 64gb?????)

Anyway rant over, wish it was cheaper lol, I'd buy in a heartbeat

They have not discounted the current iphone at any Black Friday sale in years
You cant even get Cash Back on Iphone 11 from Cashrewards/Shopback etc

      I agree with you
but not sure why anyone is surprised.

      • I am not surprised, just commenting my thoughts

        • I agree with your thoughts 100000000000%

          • @jimbobaus: I think most would, pretty common opinion haha. I've been thoroughly enjoying my S10+ since release date, but I'm a tech freak and would love to give the 11 pro a spin, but it's just way too expensive. Oh well.

$40 card with Apple TV 4K… still better to get it at Harvey Norman at the moment ($29 off rrp) unless you need to buy other stuff from Apple soon

    • If i could use the gift card on iTunes i would buy it from Apple but agree the HN deal is better 100%

    • Interesting that the Harvey Norman ones are marked as "clearance"
Suspect a new model of the TV coming ? Maybe announced at Mondays App Media Event.

Been like that for the last month so I wouldn’t read too much into it. Apple already has their christmas range for this year - no new models unless they decide to be really dumb and piss off a lot of people.

Also above comment should’ve read $20 off, not $29

  • This isn't really much of a deal.. like you have to pay full price then get back a bit.. not a fan of these types of sales.
Especially since not the new stuff that people will want.

  • Just wondering would apple price match during these types of sales? Looking at the Pro and JB’s price is currently cheaper.

    • If they do price match you would not get a gift card.
There for example is no gift card on education pricing as it’s already sold below RRP

      • is there still cashback if they PM?

  • does anyone know if this would apply to products purchased in their refurbished store?

    • Excludes education store and refurbished store.

  • Are they usually fairly quick at getting the emailed vouchers out? Not sure if anyone remembers from last year.

I’m keen to buy AirPods using the gift voucher from another purchase I just made, but it’s emailed only…and I don’t want my store to run out of stock for pickup before I can order with the gift card 😬

    • Last year the gift cards were sent once the item was despatched.

Also: unlike last year according to terms it looks like its valid In store (was online only last year) you could I suppose go to the store buy what you wanted and ask them to use the gift card for AirPods Pro

For anyone else wondering, I ordered early Friday morning. My order was ready to collect at 7.56am. My gift card was emailed at 7.59am. Dropped in store to collect and bought AirPods Pro with the voucher. AirPods Pro at a $40 discount is better than nothing :)

        • So yeah same as last year, As soon as my order was "despatched" the gift card came in minutes
in your case the "despatch" was being ready to collect

  • Pretty decent $320 gift card with the 13-inch MacBook Pro 1.4GHz.

    • Can put it towards Apple Care :)

  • Only bought some AirPods a week ago !

    • 14 days return and refund available if from Apple direct.

Not a Black Friday deal, goes till Monday…

  • Looks like CR is 3.00% now!

  • Anyone know what happens if a product with bonus gift voucher had to be returned within 14 days but the gift voucher has already been used for something else? Would apple say the product can't be returned?

    • Read the terms and conditions it says that gift card is voided if you return an item that has a bonus gift card applied.
If the gift card is spent then the gift card amount would be deducted from any refund you are entitled to

      • Ah ok. Thanks!

  • Hmmm. In my case it looks like
    (1) They charged me (separate credit card charge) for the supposed $80 gift card, and
    (2) They never sent me the $80 bonus gift card (which it appears I paid for).

Online order; in store pick up.
Their online invoice reflects two line items and two charges.

    Maybe others should check also.

Oh, and someone cashrewards didn't pick up the transaction either.

    • Same here, not bloody happy about this at all. It should be an invoice for item at full charge, and the gift cards are free.
Invoicing as they have done is going to cause me major bloody dramas.

Clearly implies cards are free and product is at full price - https://web.archive.org/web/20191128174008/https://www.apple…

"Get an Apple Store Gift Card of up to A$320 on selected products during our four-day shopping event.* "

      • What they’ve done is show the gift card as a discount on your purchase on the invoice.

I agree it’s a dumb way to do it - now my invoice has fallen below the TRS threshold, so I can no longer claim the GST refund on my purchase.

Also means if anyone needs to make any insurance claims on their item, it will be very difficult to prove its actual value.

I asked the store staff at pickup, they said they can’t change it.

        Quite annoying actually.

I had a call with them, they said they get complaints each year. I told them they need to change the wording then clearly. She said T&C are clear that this is the process. I said that the links from the page do not go to any T&Cs that are relevant to this promo.
She used a google search to come up with this - https://www.apple.com/promo/pdf/EN_US_BF_103119_FINAL.pdf

I said that is clearly US, so not relevant to us, nor is it linked anywhere.

Reason for the way they do it, is to stop people using gift card and returning product.
