I believe Amazon will be back matching EBGames deal at 10AM AEDT

    • Assuming the EB Games deal happens.

      • Whats the EB Games deal price expected to be?

  • Got the Amazon black friday email this morning advertising:
Nintendo Switch + Mario Kart was $469 now $349.
Put in cart at $349, came back shortly after and price jacked to $389??
    That's poor.

    • It was $349 from Midnight until ~9:30am.

    • I got the same thing with amazon app, swipe to make payment for 349 got 374 price instead, at 8am for me

Do we think it's going down again? Or do we have to jump on this price? I feel dirty paying $25 more because I was a few minutes too slow

    • Refer to Update in OP.

      • unavailable again. hoping i'm not too late to the party and they'll put it back up.

  • It's down to $366.05 now…could get it to around $330 or less with 10% zip and 5% cashback

    Grey: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0814VLVTH

    • Sorry was cashback for shopback or cashrewards?

  • Another price change to $366.05 - guess with the Zip 10% off takes it to be cheaper than the EB deal again! ($329.45)

  • How do we apply the shopback discount? made an account but cant find anywhere to add it like Zip which is selected in the payment process on Amazon

    Now $359.10.

    • Thanks, updated.

Was debating about whether to buy a Switch and Fit Ring Adventure but these price fluctuations are too conflicting. Ended up just buying a slam ball instead.

  • So I grabbed one of these in the middle of the night at the $349 price.

Always played Nintendo as a youngster with SNES and N64 and always have had a soft spot for Mario Kart. What else do I need to buy for multiplayer fun on a TV? This only comes with a single set of controls is that right? What else is a must have hardware wise? Have seen a pro controller but not sure what is best to get?

    • +2

The console comes with a set of Joy-Con, which is essential 2 controllers.

Accessories for the Switch that I recommend:

      • Screen Protector (pref. Tempered Glass)
      • Case/Cover
      • MicroSD Memory (such as Samsung Evo Plus)
      • Extra Joy-Con Contollers
      • Pro Controllers

      Multiplayer Games I recommend:

      • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (which comes with this bundle)
      • Super Mario Party
      • Overcooked 1 & 2
      • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
      • Jack Box Series.

Feel free to ask any other questions.

Thanks so much for the detailed answer. So if I buy another set of Joy-con then looks like we can have some Mario Kart Fun for the 4 of us on Xmas day and then we can add to the collection from there.

        • That's correct.

Most of those games I listed are also on special at Amazon AU (and the eShop).

You can also sign up/pay for Nintendo Switch Online, which gives you access to some ported over SNES games for the Switch (More information here)

PS: Find a Family Plan on Classified, so you can share the annual cost of membership ($6.87/pp annually, 8 Members total)

          • @RichardL: Just looked at the Super Mario Party trailer and along with Mario Kart I think the kids (and me) will have some fun. We have a PS4 but the games aren't as family orientated.

Very excited about some old school SNES action!!

Did I read somewhere that Amazon Prime somehow gives a Nintendo online subscription for free? I read something a while ago but cant remember what it was…could be completely confused :)

              That offer has expired.

              • @RichardL: At least I didn't imagine it :)

"PS: Find a Family Plan on Classified" - I like that thinking. Cheers for the advice

  • Was only given $350 credit limit on Zip so this is just out of range for the discount :(

    • Same here. apparently you can do a copayment: https://help.zip.co/en/articles/24

Wanted to give it a try, but the amazon offer is unavailable now.

      • Amazon online let’s you do copayment if it was a gift card and credit/debit card. Not sure if they’ve added Zip to that as well but you would still probably have to use a gift card as your second payment.
