  • Guess it get in before price jacking

Best CPU overall 2019 according to Tech Jesus - https://youtu.be/5RjS3AhDyJg?t=131

Got one, figured the price isn't going to get much better than that given historic low is $268

    • Yeah prob not until next year. I got a 3700x but kinda thinking this would have been a better buy overall.

      • Depends on what you are doing I guess. Mine is for a pure gaming build, premium to 3700x would not translate to much more fps

        • I bought this with a high end CPU cooler (you can choose between the nh-d15 or the dark rock pro 4) purely for gaming to get better performance and temps.

    Cheaper @ Shallothead eBay
    $267.75

    • Haha wow, undercutting each other I see

  • cashback is not eligible if coupon code is used.

From shopback link 'the use of any coupon codes on eBay will void your eligibility for the regular 1% cashback, but you would still be eligible for the $5 bonus'

  • Buy this now or wait for new releases next year?

Also would you recommend buying from Shallothead etc for such large purchases? Usually I only use them for things like SSD etc. Dunno about a whole system.

Screw it - went for it! - My computer is garbage so need a new one

      Picked up the below
      Ryzen 3600
      16gb Trident Z RGB 3200 ram
      b450 tomahawk max
      500gb 970 Evo M.2 NVME
      Seasonic 650W Focus Gold PSU
      Gigabyte 2070 Super Gaming OC
Corsair 220T case (sh1t I hope the GPU fits)
      Asus AC56 Wifi Card

TOtal cost about 1800 which is what I was budgeting. So think I've done alright for a 2070 Super build.

Plus chuck in the SSD through Gigabyte and NBA 2K20 on the M.2 drive. Done alright.

  • And I just ordered for $289 at Amazon…..

    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/offer-listing/B07STGGQ18/ref=mw…

    • And now cancelled. Can't do more now because have to work, so will probably miss out altogether.

  • I literally saw it at $211 briefly with code PPD13. But now it's not valid anymore. Absolutely spewing. Was going to return the one I got earlier this week for $280. Was in the process of checking out then the code expired! GAHHH I wish I never looked

  • Another issue I have got is the GPU I bought has a bunch of displayport and 1 HDMI

My monitor only has 1 DVI and 1 HDMI

Can anyone recommend an adapter for DVI to DisplayPort? Not sure on what is going to give the best performance as adapters tend to suck.

  • Meanwhile, I'll continue to wait until the B550 motherboards come out…

    • I thought the same, but what are you really getting on a B550? Doesn't seem to have have PCI4 or anything.

I reckon jump on it now, can always upgrade later.
