    • DOH!

Sorry but where does it say "up to 40%" on the front page? The 4 hour sale banner on the front page says 30% off as well.

      • Scotty on the front page the banner said 40%, shortly after you posted it. I didnt bother to screenshot it i am not jv ;)

        • Okay no problem. I have to admit that their website is not done very consistently. I normally got their promotional stuff before hand and usually the pages are not ready…

Shame there's no backlit keyboard option. 9 Hour battery life too.

    AWESOME BUY!

    • This laptop was $519 last week with the 20% coupon for purchases over $600.

      C'mon Leveno. Bring a 20% coupon back and I'll buy a x121e straight away.

      • Oh, was it?

        Damn that's an awesome price!

        • Damn! Found out that my trip next month doesn't have wifi, so I was on the lookout for a cheap and small notebook. It would've been fine at that price. Well, still some time to see if there are better deals around.

    • Integrated mobile broadband is an upgradable option for $100 (expensive).

Personally I think ThinkPad X121e is a pretty good buy right now, although it was even better with last week's coupon. This model is not yet released in US. Sandy Bridge i3 ULV should improve the battery life even more + better performance, comparing with AMD E350 on X120e (although with weaker graphics).

    • Anyone know what the viewing angle on these screens is like?

I was hoping to get a fairly good spec'd notebook at the under $1000 range, something along the lines of a 2nd gen i7 quad, 1 dimm 4gb ram, and possibly a 2gb video card (or a highly recommended 1gb one), would this be a good buy? I'm going by the dell deal about 3 weeks ago where I configured this and it was at about the $950 range.. I'm just looking for a good time to pounce. Suggestions/feedback please! Thanks in advance.

    • Soo weird.. it's like either you can get decent specs for cheap, and then the better specs all start at about the $1500 level.. so it's either $600 or $1500. :( I got to an E520 with an i7-2620, 8gb ram, radeon 6630m 1gb (not sure if it's dedicated, i saw vram.) 750gb only 5400rpm, with a 9 cell batt for $872. No usb 3 either. Great price, but since i'm willing to spend up to a thousand, i guess i should just wait for something that matches what i (think i) want. :S

  • Grrrr. Just bought today XPS 15 after waiting long for the coupon for W series :(

    • What specs and how much did you pay for it? (i didn't think the xps' were on sale at the moment)

      • thats what I thought, which one you get gagans and for how much? i miss the 15% of XPS EPP sale from a few weeks back.

      • I paid 1565 for XPS 15 with i7 quad core, Full HD screen, back lit keyb, 3*3 wireless card, 750 gb 27k rpm hdd, 6 gb ram, 2gb nvidia card , 2 years warranty. This amount was after 10 % coupon discount. Did not get blue ray player
Edit: Forgot to add, it has USB 3 ports *2. I love thinkpads, but I think, I cannot get such specs in thinkpad.
secondly, I will be using XPS as my desktop replacement. I use external keyb and mouse mostly.

nice setup and great price! what was the code used if you dont mind me asking - my cousin wants to get xps 15z and am searching out for codes :) TIA

        • Hi,
          Sorry for the late reply.
If you are a NRMA customer, you can go to : www.dell.com.au/nrma
enter ur nrma card no. and you get a coupon.
          for laptop from 1000-2000 - its 10%
          for monitors , its 15 %
If you are not a member, let me know, I will post my code to u :)

        • XPS 15Z Looks so sexy. But were a bit expensive and as I am not using my laptop on the run. I tried XPS.

        • Forgot about good old nrma :) thanks for the reminder champ and for the generous code offer, but all good as I have access to a Nrma card. Enjoy the xps!

  • 4/5 Aug? Is this on today and tomorrow?

    • Yeah. 2 days, 8PM-midnight. Although Lenovo's coupon-clock is not always accurate.

      • Thanks. /Seriously/ tempted as I've been wanting a laptop with stupid amounts of battery life for ages. Gnargh. Want SSD but it's not on the config I want.

Sigh. I hate this site sometimes. 8|

  • I just got an E420 a few weeks ago…. That X121e, though lower specced, seems awfully sweet in terms of portability…

Sigh, I'll never be able to get the wifey to sign off on another lappy. :(

And you're saying that they could have been a $100 less last week? Damn. If this model was on sale at around EOFYS time, I would have gotten this hands down!!

  • It says:
    Web price: $649.00
    After eCoupon: $584.10 inc. GST
    You save: $64.89
    Use eCoupon Code:
    4DOHOURS

But when applying the ecoupon it says: Coupon not valid for current shopping cart

  • I guess its good that these are posted on ozb, but I'm really getting sick of their bullsh=t 4 hour, 1 day, whatever sales. Put it on for a decent time.

    • I'm lamenting the lack of SSD as an option for my config. If it had that I'd get it. Sigh…

  • Not bad in the end. Helped someone get a 2nd gen i5, 15.6" with dedicated graphics and a 320GB ext. usb hard drive for $585.
