Could this be the best phone deal of 2019?

    • +2

I would say best value for the specs as of right now

    • +6

maybe if anyone knew what a realme is

      • +7

realme is the brand of oppo

        • +3

.. And Vivo and oneplus (same parent company) …

I've done a bit of research and just too good of a value so decided to try this local stock item.. Oh yes Get to claim trs too..

Anyway I haven't really used it much but so far quite impressed..(but always had budget phones so anything these days would be better than my moto g5)

For those who worried about the warranty claim procedure… Been told that realme phones can also be repaired / serviced at OPPO service centres.

“Real-me” sounds like a rip off of Xiao-mi, which rips off every other brand.

The copy cats are now the ones being copied.

        Lol

        • +2

Real me is a direct competition rip of Xiaomis Redmi line.
Oppo pitch that as the value for money line, basically oppo and Vivo planning to reduce their own branded devices and use sub brands.

It is a confusing mess in oppos many lines of phones.

          • @jackau: I wonder if "Redmi" itself was trying to ape "Product Red".

    • +3

Nope that would be oppo Reno 2z or LG V40 so far.

      • Realme is also owner by Oppo.

        • +2

Realme is a sub-brand of Oppo. Oneplus and Vivo is also a sister company of Oppo. All of them are under BKK Group as their parent company

      • -2

Agreed, even though the processor and ram is high in this, you can't just measure that like its the only thing that counts. I would take a v40 over this myself for the 60 bucks, but each to their own.

        • +2

Where is the V40 for $60 extra???

          • +1

@souljah: Sorry my bad, is was 499 so 160 extra. The v30+ was 399, not much in it IMO

      • lg v40 hands down

      • What about the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro

  • -1

    Great

    • 4g ram?

      • +2

        8gb ram

echocae made an edit, initially linked to this saying it was cheaper.

These are good phones specswise. I just wish they included NFC! For some reason realme’s entire Australian lineup doesn’t include it. They did however put them in for the Russian market. So random.

    • When Oppo first came to Australia few years back they too don't have NFC remember those find 7 find 5 find me etc.
Oppo learned very quickly they need to adapt to Australia, we are not going to adapt to them scanning QR codes that never took off here.

      • My Oppo Reno Z has NFC.

Edit: and it works in Australia just fine, but it's the Australian model, so that's to be expected.

    • +2

yep would have been interested but has to have NFC, so passing

  • Does anyone know if the camera would be as good as a Mi9t?

    • No. The Sony Sensor is average at best. 48mp images look almost identical to the 12mp versions with a much higher file size.

      • +1

You're not supposed to use the 48mp sensor as a 48mp shooter anyway. That's not how quad bayer sensors work.

  • -1

    90hz?

    • What's with the yank twang mate? :P

  • +3

Just be advised, your phone may never receive an update.
    Like…ever.

    • +1

    • just wait for Mi 10 with snapdrogan 865

      • What's the expected RRP?

        • NOT SURE YET BUT I DOUBT IT ITS GONNA BE ABOVE 1K XAIOMI SAID IT WILL BE RELIES BEGINNING OF 2020 AND IT HAS LOTS OF COOL FUTURES ALONG SNAPDRAGON 865 AS THEY SPEND LOTS TIME ON IT AND SO ON.
IT WILL BE THE FIRST PHONE WITH SNAPDRAGON865

          • @kingTony: Please stop screaming and typing fail English.

            • @CVonC: @cvonc what a racist person you are, i just try to help :(
people like you making Australian looks bad

              • +1

@kingTony: How did any of that incinuate your race? Just highlighting the fact you were typing in all caps and using wrong words.
If you're going to take that as an offensive racist remark and personally attack me then that says more about you than me and our fellow Australians.

                • @CVonC: 1 there is nothing wrong with upper case typing even it is acceptable in IELTS exam
2 you did questioned my English of course i ma not good at it as it is not my first language
3 you did made me upset and feeling down and all I was doing was helping even with broken English
4 i leave it to karma, all the best

      • Have you seen the Mi 9 5G?

        • WE DONT HAVE MI 9 5G

  • God the specs are so close to a Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=9801&idPhone2=9…

  • +2
