  • I used to get this for being a prepaid customer. I came back to them but haven't received anything.

  • Quite restricted in that you can only use it on selected Saturdays or Sundays. Have a Woolworths policy but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to use this. Still, worth considering I suppose.

    • Also fridays for online orders or order sunday online to pick up monday

Just updated my details as instructed, it said, selected weekend is "2nd weekend of the month". So, it'd be this weekend.

    • Also got 2nd weekend of the month.

      • From past experience, I am fairly certain when they say 2nd weekend of the month it means the 2nd full weekend of the month. As the 30th of Nov was a Sat I'm pretty sure the 10% off will be the following weekend (ie 14th and 15th Dec).

    • Tried to place an order with the linked Woolworths reward number and it doesn't seem to work, so it's possibly next weekend

  • I used to get emails about this last year. But not this year.

    • +1

I rang them about this a few months ago as I also stopped getting the emails. Their reply was they have now made it the 2nd weekend of every month to make it easier and they no longer send emails because of this.

      • Thanks for that, I will give this a try the next weekend.

        • Hmm interesting. Yeah I no longer get these emails either.

  • Tried to be a Woolworths Insurance customer the other day. Can’t insure Kia Seltos yet so they said find another insurer!

  • How can you know if the discount was applied when making an order online? I've set up my rewards but I can't see any 10% discount at checkout

  • Just tried an online order but there was no 10% off at checkout

    • So, it doesn’t actually work? As other posted above, didn’t work last weekend neither

      • No not for me at least. I am calling them tomorrow

  • I shopped in-store using my rewards that's attached to a home insurance but there's no discount applied t checkout. I'll be sending my complaint to their customer service on Monday!

  • Did anyone get this working in December? I'd like to try again this month

    • Mine worked in December in-store. Got the email again for this month just then.

  • Shopped today. No discount applied - will complain on Monday.

    • +1

Can't get it working this weekend either with an online shop. Will have to contact them.

If you did not receive your 10% discount, you can call us on 1300 10 1234 (option 4).

You will need to provide the following information found on your shopping receipt.

This will help us look into why you did not receive the discount

      Date

      Time

      Store name / number

      Value of transaction

    • I do receive an email reminder for the valid period.

      • I haven't received any emails even though I'm opted in.

  • Mine worked this weekend

Called Woolworths insurance because I didn't receive an automatic discount. Was advised to email [email protected] with my name, DOB, policy no, subject: Market Day Promotion, attach invoice and ask for a reimbursement. I received a Wish gift card a few days later to the value of 10%.

    • +1

I only spent about $50 on the offer. When I realised at the checkout that the discount was not being applied I left about $100 of goods I didn't immediately need.

I phoned Woolworths Insurance but it was a very painful process. They requested that I send 3 means of identification to them via email - DOB, driving licence, etc. with scanned receipt. I refused and spoke to a supervisor - email is not a safe medium.

I just sent my name and WWR number with scanned receipt. I asked for additional compo for having to do something that Woolworths should do for themselves but have not received any, just a gc for the 10% discount that I did not receive on the day. Woolworths have access to your WWR account and can see the transaction - they should be able to refund you without you having to make a claim. It is a very lazy corporate mentality - make the customer do the work. Woolworths Insurance staff told me that they had received a lot of complaints about this offer not working. I am not surprised. I doubt the rollout of the offer was tested properly. I will probably not bother with it in future and just stick with Coles - their offers are generally better and always seem to work.

It worked fine for me this last weekend, I shopped Sunday 9th of Feb.

Important bit that's easy to miss: not only link your rewards number, also opt in to marketing.

I got reminder emails for the 10% discount on Feb 4th and 7th.

    • It worked for me yesterday on the check out counter, period shows 9th May until 31 May. But now that I logged in to my insurance portal I found that I was not opt in to marketing (hence I didn't get the email regarding the promotion). Normally I shop at coles but trying out woolies for the first time in months so this is the first time I get this discount. Will be going to woolies more :)

  • This Deal still doesn't automatically work for me. Anyone else in the same boat and was able to resolve it? I emailed them about it and it still wasn't fixed.

I have linked my rewards card and opted in.

    Marketing Preferences:
    Yes

  • Same as me. I did it last month but got no 10% discount at POS

    • I called them up after a very long really wait time and they still couldn't resolve it. However they did say from their end I was opted out even though on my end it says I was opted in. They manually changed it for me but it still didn't work at checkout. I'll have to claim manually this month. Maybe next month I'll start receiving the marketing emails. They have escalated the issue for me but I don't like my chances of a response.

    • I got an email notification every time.

  • Worked for me today. Actually I tried it on two accounts that I have with Woolworths Insurance and it worked for both

    https://insurance.woolworths.com.au/promotions/10-off-your-s…

Looks like it’s now once per month and for the month of May the dates are between 9 May and 31 May

    • I saw that too. i was wondering if it is this weekend to get the 10% off couldnt find any webpage except the same link.

    • I think this is because previously it actually worked multiple times in the validity period despite WOW only saying it worked the first time. Now it only works once but at least allows you to choose when you want to use it in the validity period.

      • Showed up the first time for me at check out today..

  • How do you by actually get this to work? I've had Woolworths insurance for a couple of years with my rewards card # listed in my account but I've never received a discount. Is there a code they send out is it applied automatically?

    • works every time. i got email notification as well.

      • I just mean how do you normally get the code? I found it in another post and it works fine for my account I've just never been emailed it or anything before.

    • I didn't get the email sent to my email address, only after complaining several times, the emails started coming. (I was a WW insurance holder for >3 months before I got my first email for 10% off).
I was getting all the other marketing emails from WW.
When it's active, you will see the announcement on the self checkout (or they will ask you if you want to apply the 10%, similar to how they ask if you want to apply the $10 off)

  • I didnt receive a email last month , Is the offer on this weekend ?

    • +1

It is any day of the month currently thanks to COVID

  • +1

I didn't get my 10% offer at the checkout - I emailed them and they said it takes up to 30 days to activate. Pretty much means it can't be used in the first month.

  • Has anyone received an email with the online code for July?

    • Just received the email. It's JULY2020

  • any idea from when does it start for july ?

    • its already started, see above code JULY2020 for online

    • It started on July 1. I used my offer that day.

      • Thanks, Just confirming its in store as well.

  • +2

Just an account of my experience with this: I bought an insurance policy in May and still have not had the 10% offer appear on screen when I check out at Woolies. I did a relatively large shop (for me) last night of ~$120 and still didn't get the offer, so I got in touch via online chat today. The rep sent a link to the T&Cs and said there is a wait period of 45 days until you can use the offer.

No - the T&Cs say that it may take up to 45 days for the offer to be available. For what it's worth - my shop last night was at 43 days since purchasing the policy and linking my card. I was actually quite sure that it said 30 days when I signed up, not 45. Sure enough, on this Woolies website the fine print at the bottom says 30 days.

If there is a strict exclusion period of exactly 45 days then the T&Cs should be updated to reflect this rather than using weasel words like 'may' and 'up to'.

What was their response to this? Well, we didn't get that far since the rep ended the chat probably a minute after sending the T&C link, before I even had a chance to read or respond. Pretty disappointing. I'll be looking to cancel my policy and move elsewhere.

  • Current one for August is:

    AUG2020

  • Just a curious question which I can't find answers to via T&Cs.

Is the 10% off 1 shop per month based on calendar month or based off when you used it last? e.g If i used it mid month, would it not be available until mid month the following month? Or will be activate again come the first day of the new month? such that If I did a shop 31/08 use my 10%, I would be able to shop again on 01/09 and use the September 10% off as well?

    • +1

Calendar month so 31/08 and 01/09 should be ok. However this may be a temporary arrangement for the pandemic as it used to be second weekend of the month.

  • Hi, I've got a question - Is there anything 'wrong' with me making my "max kms" 1000 to lower my premium as much as possible? I'm basically just increasing my excess, right? But they'll still pay out when I'm many, many times over?

    • I don't think so - tolerance is 250km over. Anything over that expect the insurance company to deny your claim.

      • I couldn't find anything that detailed this in the PDS. All they mention is if you are below or above your nominated kms, you have to pay the excess…

        • My renewal document says;

          It is important to note:
If your car's odometer reading at the time of a claim is above the End odometer reading as listed above, you may be subject to
the Outside odometer excess of $1,000.

You can apply to increase your End odometer reading at any time during your policy term. On renewal, you may also apply to
decrease your End odometer reading if required.

          ● You have a kilometre grace distance of up to 250 km.

          • +1

@SydneySwan: I think that maybe a grace distance for not paying the excess. The PDS did mention something along those lines, but didn't mention the Kms.

I will call them before I take out a policy to confirm. I appreciate you clarifying, though..!
