ANZ Frequent Flyer Black Visa: Bonus 120K Qantas Points + $275 Cashback (Spend $4,000 in 3 Months), $425 Annual Fee

3860

Unsure if this can qualify as a post but there is a temporary boost on an existing deal from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/448095
Main difference is the extra 20,000 points (originally 100,000) and $275 vs $200 cashback.

Annoyed cause I got this a few weeks ago. Details below. Unknown expiry at this point.

  • $425 annual card fee
  • 120k Qantas Points and $275 credit will be credited within 3 months of the eligible spend criteria being met ($4000)
  • 2 Qantas Club lounge access invitations per year
  • Earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases (up to $7500)
  • Minimum credit limit $15,000
  • Up to 55 days interest free
  • Minimum annual income $75,000
  • Complimentary Qantas Frequent Flyer membership
  • Not available where you currently hold an ANZ Frequent Flyer, ANZ Frequent Flyer Gold, ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum or ANZ Frequent Flyer Black credit card, or have closed, or qualified for bonus Qantas Points or a credit back on, any of those ANZ Frequent Flyer credit cards within the previous 12 months.

                  • @purpleturtle: Oh no kidding at least they understood and they verbally agreed. Just hope they left notes on the file. I got mine approved but took a lot longer than usual. Should be fine I reckon.

  • +1

Met my minimum spend in the 1st statement, got the points and cashback on the 2nd statement. Must say this is the fastest out of the credit cards I've had (Including the Travel Adventures)

    • Met the min spend in second statement. Cash back credited and 3rd statement has just issued which says 120k transferred. This has been flawless and like clock work. Now to collect the lounge passes and close the card!

      • Thank you for posting this!

I just reached min. spend in first statement - shall wait for 2nd statement for the points

      • Do they have any expiry on the lounge passes?

        • Expires 12 months from when you receive it

    • When they say spend $4k within 3 months, will the statement be the best gauge to monitor to months?

      • Yup. But since you receive your statements after the fact, it's better to take note of your statement periods and monitor your transactions in real time.

      Thank you for posting this!

I just reached min. spend in first statement - shall wait for 2nd statement for the points

Sidenote - AMEX was even faster (If you reach min. spend in statement #1, they will pay out bonus points at end of statement #1)

    • So you don't have to wait at least 3 months to receive the points, as long as you reach $4000 spend?

      • +1

Yup! Hopefully it's the same for everyone.

        • Cool thanks for the info

        • Finally see the bonus points under Net Bank -> Reward Points

points should be received by issue date of Statement #2

          Thanks again!

  • Anyone get approval with a $0 limit?

    • You can't get a CC with $0 limit. That's for Debit Cards.

      • That's what my approval letter says. 'An ANZ Frequent Flyer Black is coming your way with a credit limit of $0.'

  • I got my $275 Bonus credit on 3rd statement but no 120k points, weird!

    • Got my Bonus 120k qantas points today on 4th Statement.

  • Just to confirm, the minimum spend to get the bonus points is from the approved date rather than the statement date?

    • Nope from what Anz told me it's from the statement date.

      • Thanks. That contradicts with the tnc: 'Your application must be approved and you must activate the card and make $4,000 worth of eligible purchases within three months of approval to receive the bonus Qantas Points and have the $275 credited to your credit card account.'

If you read through all the comments from people, the you will see that the points are usually awarded few days after the statement.

          • @nightelves: Oh I meant to be asking whether they count the 3 months from approval date or statement date. E.g. my statement date starts from 26 Feb but my approval date was 11 Mar.

            • -1

@manutd123: If you read through the comments then you’ll see that nearly everyone either received their points or cashback on their statement.

            • @manutd123: I was in a similar situation. Approved on 05-Mar, but the statement was dated 18-Feb to 18-Mar. To be safe, I've completed the minimum spend limit within the 3rd statement generation date.

  • got the cashback on 2nd statement, still waiting on the points….

    • got my points now

      • I met the min. spend per my second statement but haven't received the points nor cash back.

  • just received the points on my 3rd statement

  • Anyone applied recently and got approved?

How long is the processing time after all documents were provided to ANZ?

    • Applied on 28th April along with all documents, got approved on 5th May.

    • Applied and uploaded docs on 27 April, got a call to confirm the numbers on my application and then the approval on 5 May.

      • So almost a week to get confirmation. ANZ is quite slow compare with citibank.

        • +1

I’d still rather ANZ any day of the week. Citibank is the last bank I’d go to if I had a choice.

  • So, how does it work if i have the westpac altitude black spend 4k in 3 months get 90k QFF + do this one and get 120k but cancel one of the cards, do i keep them all? so i could potentially cancel both cards but tsill have 200k points?

    • As soon as the QFF points are in your account you can cancel the card/s if you only wanted them for the points. Many people do this - you've effecting just described 'churning'.

  • Looks like they've just updated the offer since yesterday when I applied.
    Bonus 100,000 Qantas Points + $150 back (Spend $3,000 in 3 Months)
75 Bonus Status Credits and 30,000 Qantas Points if the card is held over 12 months.

    • Arg dang, anyone have the screenshots of this expired deal? Just got this card last week and want to make sure they not mixup with the latest offer (100K points + $150 cashback).
