    • And approved. That was easy
Closed the last ANZ deal 18 mths ago, so a bit late on the next round of qff points

    Beware of this deal…
It was not mentioned anywhere there is a minimum income requirement. I have just been refused,

  • is there any real benefit in keeping this card after earning the points? annual fee is quiet hefty

    • +2

Since you already paid for the annual fee, may as well keep it for 12 months. I believe this card is the best earning rate (1pt/$1 upto $7500/statement) for $150 fee.

      • +2

The card isn't bad, but I'm not sure it's worth hogging 15k of credit limit.
I reckon it's best to close it and get more credit cards ;)

  • +4

Existing ANZ customer with Travel Adventures Card. Got auto rejected when I applied on 30/12. Called up immediately to see what the issue was and while I didn't receive a straight answer, I was offered to go through the application again over the phone. Did that and was asked to send in pay slips to verify my income and that I'll receive an answer within 48 hours. Called up today to see how the application was going; got approved after they went through my payslips and application over the phone. So don't just take the credit hit! Call up and follow up.

  • So just to confirm from those that have this card, a payment to vic roads for my registration and bills paid via BPAY are all qualifying transactions?

    • And council rates too?

  • +1

met my $4000 spent before the jan 5th statement and got credited with 4200 QFF points.
When will i expect to get the 1200000 bonus points and the $275 cashback?

    • Not sure why this got negged; I'm also interested to know these details.

Might give them a buzz tomorrow if I get the chance.

      • It says right here on this page that you will get both the points and cashback within 3 months after meeting the minimum spend. And at least 1 person in this thread got it in the next statement. So you can expect it in the next 1-3 statements.

        • I read the original question to be asking if anyone had any experience/info regarding when to actually "expect" the points and cashback.

Can you blame someone for wondering how long it'll actually take? A quarter of a year is a long time.

Also, I get it's the internet, but man… the uncharitable interpretation of the original question and the subsequent condescension… ugh. Yuck.

          • @psnatch: Not really sure how my comment could be interpreted as condensending, that certainly wasn't the intention. I answered the question directly by quoting the information on this page and even provided an example of a user's real experience from this thread.

Also you can't complain about 3 months being a long time because you should have known this before you signed up since that information is clearly displayed.

            • @wangasm: Ok, cool…

It says right here on this page

              ^ That is condescending.

              Also you can't complain

Being interested in when to expect points and cashback is not complaining. A quarter of a year is a long time to be wondering if it'll come next statement, when someone else might actually have real-world experience they can impart.

you should have known this before you signed up since that information is clearly displayed

              Again, condescending language.

              For the last time:

              • I did know that it was up to 3 months
              • I'm simply interested in when to realistically "expect" the points and cashback
              • -2

@psnatch: Hey no worries, I don't want to argue. Again, I'm sorry if you took it that way. Next time I want help someone like I have for hundreds others on this site, I'll think twice just in case I might offend the few :)

    • I have found the same thing, seems this is different to previous times. I have always got my bonus's at the end of the billing cycle I met the spend.

However not the case this time.

This also happened to me with my westpac amex card, had to wait 10weeks for my 45k points.

  • Applied and got rejected due to some minor income related things. How long till I could re apply?

    • +2

you can call them and get it sorted.. you don't need to reapply. I have done with ANZ couple of times.

  • Applied for this and had it in my hands less than a week later. Nice one. Now to get those points!

    • I haven’t got the points .. it has been two months

  • I've noticed that they've removed the previous 75k minimum income requirement. Has anyone have been approved with less than than 75k income? Was hoping to get a couple of relatives onto this card as well before the promo ended.

    • Someone I know got approved with under 75k, but they were very close to it.

    • A guy at work got approved with a bit under 75K so I guess it's up to spending and credit history.

  • How long after spending do you typically get awarded the points?

  • Does anyone know if subsidiary cardholders are still eligible to apply in the future for promotions?

eg if I give my wife a subsidiary card on the ANZ FF Black to help me hit the $4k spend, will she still be able to apply for her own ANZ FF Black in the future with the promotions or does her holding the subsidiary card count towards the requirement to not have the card.

    EDIT: According to here:

I was a supplementary holder of an ANZ Frequent Flyer Card which expired in July this year. Will I receive the bonus points on this product if I had an ANZ card but was not the primary holder?
Yes, you will. Being a supplementary cardholder on someone else’s card does not affect your eligibility to receive bonus points if you apply for a card as the primary cardholder.

    • +1

I just added my card on my wife’s Apple Pay. $4k done within a month. She is still within 12 months of a previous ANZ card she closed so won’t apply for this!

  • I applied for this card, heard nothing. I had to call them and they said they needed payslips from my previous job. I said fine, asked why they didnt' call and tell me they said they did 3 times (lie)
Then heard nothing again, called and they told me they needed my full 30 page employment contract which I refused. I already provided them my contract salary/full time etc pages and said its' a private contract I refuse to share externally beyond the information needed so cancel my application. I'll never bank with ANZ again, I'm glad I didn't get the card, the bank is already a shambles and a call centre based out of india, no thanks.

  • +1

Got approved finally, applied over a week ago and had to call up twice. Good deal, thanks op.

  • A stupid question, I forgot to provide my QF number when applying. How can I link this to ANZ FF account now?

    • maybe ring them?

  • Got rejected. I recently made cash payment to my mortgage through ANZ everyday account and ANZ took it as if it's a monthly expense. I explained over the phone but they didn't budge. I have been with ANZ for 20 years and it really sucks to be rejected.

  • Met the minimum spend within the first week.

I’m not on my second statement and still haven’t received my points.

    • that's annoying.

    • Same story. Will give them 3 months max and then inquire.

  • They are SUPER SLOW in processing their applications. I have lodged one 2 weeks ago and am still waiting. If you need a card urgently, don't apply for this one.

    • Give them a call, got mine sorted by phone, as did many others.

  • Government charges are not eligible for points (nor can they be counted towards the $4000 min spend for getting the 120,000 bonus QFF points).

Are council rates and CTP insurance considered ‘government charges’?

    • I would assume that council rates are, and that CTP is not (since you're paying it to a commercial insurance company, albeit one operating in a market defined by the government, but it's undoubtedly a company, not the government, that you're actually paying). I've used CTP to meet min spends before, and I haven't had a problem (although I honestly have no idea if that was on an ANZ card or not, but the "government charges" exclusion is standard and applies to all rewards cards).

      • Thanks

    • If you can pay your rates via paypal, it'll be counted as eligible spend

I did this for my rego and it counted

  • Is the $275 rebate applied the same time the bonus points are awarded?

    • I have not received my points yet but yeh it's meant to

    • I received my points on the third statement, but not the cash back yet.

  • Did everyones fees end up at $425?

    Mine were :
    - Reward Program Fee (2 cardholders): $110
    - Annual Fee : $370
    - Additional card fee : $10

so $490 all up. Even taking out the additional card holder of $60 (half the reward program fee) + $10 - its still $430, so $5 more, still a little annoying.

Really wish i had not bothered with the second card and G paid on my mobile!!

Either way, its a watch out to people who were contemplating an additional card - around $70 more!

    • Haven't got charged yet, but they've actually sent me 2 identical cards without requesting for an additional card holder. Think they might have stuffed up. Won't use it anyway as I use nfc payments almost exclusively.
I'd call them about the fee if I were you

    • When I signed up for the ANZ Adventure card in the application it asked if I wanted an additional cardholder.. which I did. When I got the statement it had an extra $55 rewards fee as well (can't remember if it had a $10 fee). It was not listed on the application at all - so I called and cancelled the additional card and asked for the charges to be removed.

When I applied for this card I knew not to apply for an additional card ;)

    • +1

      It looks right.

Reward program fee for additional cardholder $55
      +

      Additional card fee $10

      $65.

Exactly the difference between $490 and $425

      • -3

Thanks guys… Looks like I stuffed up, might try and call them to cancel it .. I just figured it would be $20 for an additional card like the other ones I have had …

  • Met and exceeded the minimum spending requirement in my 2nd month, did not get the bonus points or rebate in this statement. So I guess ANZ definitely does it slower than amex and citibank (as much the latter gets criticised on here).

  • Hi guys.

    A word of warning.

As per my conversation over the phone (summary) :
    - some bill payments count as a cash advance.
    - payments to billers who don’t accept credit payments from the credit card account (this may include payments through the BPAY® scheme) count as a cash

ANZ FREQUENT FLYER REWARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS
    23. Exceptions.
    (a) Points will not accrue in relation to … cash advance (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use).

So please make sure that you spent $4000 on eligible payments.

    • Anyone know if you phone ANZ they will confirm if you have meet criteria or not?

  • Anyone know if paypal purchases i.e. ebay count towards the spend if that card is linked in? Thanks

    • +1

      Yes

  • -2

Anyone know how long it takes for points to get credited?

    • Normal points credited on statement date or just after. Bonus points, judging by comments, credited on 3rd statement.

      • Yeah but does it show up on your statement to ensure you triggered the bonus points?

        • Pretty sure it will. I'm only on my 2nd statement. Check your qff account if you're not sure.

  • I applied for this card in Oct 2019, approved, hit the minimum spend. However, my recent bill only showed 100k FF instead of 120k. Has this occurred to anyone or was the deal at the time of application for 100k

  • -5

Shit bank and shit customer service

    • +3

I'm guessing you weren't accepted for the card😂

  • Hopefully, this is relevant to someone - used this to pay for mandated school laptop (QLD). The transaction came up as DEPT OF EDUCATION but still counted towards points.

  • Got approved folks two weeks ago. I needed to call ANZ and run through some jargon.

The additional cardholder i cancelled after I seen the hidden fees they charge.
I just got charged the reward program fee and annual fee (55 + 370) and i have hit the minimum spend of 4000 AUD

just got my first statement but no qantas points or the 275 cashback.

    other folks the same??

    • +1

u may need to wait for your 3rd statement

    • I got approved early December 2019 and hit my minimum not long after and still haven't recieved. So I wouldn't get your hopes up for it to come anytime soon.

      • +1

To update. Yesterday was the last day of my third statement period. Points have hit my account this morning. No sign of the cashback yet.

        • good news. you should send them a secure message through the portal about the cashback, surely that should come at the same time.

          • @bohn: the annual fee didn't get charged until 1-2 weeks into the first statement, I wouldn't be surprised if the cashback takes a while after the 3rd statement as well.

            • @Bytelover: as long as it is there prior to the 3rd statement being due I guess it's okay.

        • I'm in the same boat: 120k points deposited but not the $275 rebate. Have messaged them to see when I can expect it.

Also - don't forget to ring up to get your 2 x QF lounge passes manually added to your account.

          • @hotdish: Let us know what they say re rebate :)

            • @bohn: Got my rebate this morning. :)

              • @DooDah: Nice :) now to pay off and close the card?

                • @bohn: That was then plan, but after a review I’m going to book my honeymoon with it and take advantage of the travel insurance as it seems better than my Qantas Ultimate insurance.

    • update: received the cashback so far

also called concierge ANZ and got my two complimentary lounge passes

    • just received my points from qantas.

  • Gone through all the steps, clicked the Submit button, the page just hang there forever.

  • I met the spend for this card in the 3rd month.. got the points on the 3rd statement.

  • Same as everyone here, got the points on the 3rd statement but no sign of the $275 credit yet. Met the minimum spend in the 3rd statement.

    • Got my rebate today as well, looks like rebates are posted 2 days after the third statement.

  • Got my rebate this morning. :)

  • Got the points as well on my 3rd statement

  • Got my points and Cashback😍

    Flawless service

Now waiting on my Kogan credit.. 😓

  • somehow i got my rebate, but still haven't received my bonus points?

    • Same here, but people are saying points arrive on 3rd statement. I'll find this out in a few weeks.

  • How long did it took for your application to be approved?

    • Generally under a week if you don't need to provide additional documentation. Mine took a bit over 2 weeks because I had to obtain some extra docs to prove some of my old accounts were closed.

    • It's been 7 working days and still not approved. Called up twice and was advised there is a massive backlog.

      • It’s been even longer for me and I received the same responses when I call for an update (can’t even get through to the Assessments team). Got an SMS this morning saying it’ll be processed within 2 business days so we’ll see.

    • Applied online 13/3
Called up 16/3, couldn't get through
Called up 17/3, was asked for more documentation (rental income statements, proof of other CC closure), uploaded online
Got a text 18/3, saying delay due to coronavirus
      Nothing so far still..

      • Mine got approved after 8 working days.

        • Not bad!
I got a call from them 21/3, saying the closure confirmation letters I uploaded from Citi didn't cut it and I would have to ask for another one.
And with Citi's call center closed….they're not taking any non-emergency queries….

          • @purpleturtle: Can you login to your Citi account and show them a screenshot to say it’s closed? Alternatively log into Credit Savvy and show them it’s closed there?

            • @bobwokeup: My Citi login stopped working the day I requested the closure.

Funny you mentioned Credit Savvy: on 16/3 I got the monthly update and I was in the mid 700s. On the 19/3, I got another email from Credit Savvy saying there was activity on my file, and the score had gone down into the 600s. The only thing I remember being different between the two was the Citi account was now showing as closed. I'm assuming because I have no open credit cards at all now, its caused my score to go down a bit…

Could be worth a shot asking Citi to check my credit file again, but they probably won't take my word for it and hit me with another credit enquiry…

              • @purpleturtle: Oh damn thought they might let you login to get statements.

Yeah a few things affect your rating. It’s weird as I just got approved for the ANZ FF Black card and my dating went up.

I mean can you login to Credit Savy then go to Credit Accounts and Relationships and send the screenshot to ANZ showing them when your Citi account closed?

                • @bobwokeup: I never heard back from Citi about the closure letter, and I ended up going with the Credit Savvy screenshot, uploaded 27/3

A nice lady called me back 3 days after uploading checking in on my application. I needed to explain the situation again, as in why the letters weren't there, then had to explain how I wasn't even able to get in touch with Citi to get a letter. She said she'd check with a supervisor, and about an hour later she called back and confirmed given the circumstances it was ok!

So verbally approved on the phone 31/3, but no confirmation email/text as yet…
