  • Why all those deliveries are to south east asia? is this website a malaysia website?
how does pick up work at all? what if my flight is late and that pick up narita terminal is closed?
    the price isn't that attractive?
mobal can be mailed to your australian address and price is even cheaper?

whoever used this site or mobal please comment below to shed some light. Thanks.

Why all those deliveries are to south east asia?

Klook focuses on South East Asia. That's their target market.

is this website a malaysia website?

      Hong Kong based

whoever used this site or mobal please comment below to shed some light. Thanks.

I take it you're going on about mobile rental… Just get a sim (it's easier - I normally find a vending machine and get one for ¥3000-5000).

what if my flight is late and that pick up narita terminal is closed?

A problem with ordering anything for pick up. Just be careful as many flights don't arrive from Australia until the evening when most stuff is closed.

  • If I pay with my credit card in Yen, will I be eligible for 15% cashback?
or am I required to pay in AUD?

  • I'm seeing 10% cashback for Klook when clicking through Shopback but my Shopback Buddy is saying click to activate 15% cashback.

Rep can we get a 15% cashback please!

    • Did you also see 15% off? I am 100% certain I saw 15% cashback from at least 11pm to 11:52pm (when I finalized my order). I even checked a couple of times before paying. Now I see 10%. Fingers cross the 15% goes through..

      • +1

Definitely saw 15% on my Shopback buddy but it kept going to 10% when I clicked through.

        • Thanks. I wonder if Shopback changed their deal… I even got an email with my cash back amount equivalent to 15% off. Never quite sure until the money gets banked.

  • Added the promo code on the Klook app and it showed as min $100 (instead if the advertised min $200). Was able to redeem it for a purchase <$200.

    • Thanks, updated op.

  • Is there any way to buy JR pass more than 3 months in advance? Going to Japan later on but it seems like travel has to start within 3 months :(

    • Did you see any terms and conditions stating has to be within three months?

I selected a date over three months away and there wasn't an issue.

    • I saw a post that klook is the only provider that you can book 6 months in advance (they will send it out 3 months before your trip to ensure its valid)

Does anyone know of any Japan activities on the website with an open date? Don't want to be locked into specific dates if possible

    • Osaka Amazing Pass, Universal Studios entry pass, Harukas 300, and the Tokyo Subway ticket are all open date vouchers and worth getting.

      • Thanks! I'll check it out

    Hey all,

Please be mindful to book your jr pass only 90 days before your travel date, not over 90 days:

    • I thought so too but check out their Facebook post.

      https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=434319080578200&…

      • I'm so confused.

even this links says 90 days.

        https://www.klook.com/en-AU/article/1898-jr-pass-faq/

I'm leaving for Japan on 30 March so slightly over the 90 days… Would be good if what they say in their FB post is true.

        • Old article from 2018, the FB post is from last week

          • @Darkii: Good point, then Ausdave just got provided with incorrect info from support then.

            • @bugsbunny: bugger - was looking for a JR pass for May 2020 and this post got my hopes up I could get one now and then disappointed and then hopes up again and then back to disappointed again haha what a rollercoaster!

        • +1

I'm in the same boat - actually, probably on the same plane ;)

Just added JR passes to my cart, and the following is displayed on the right hand side:

          Package Description

You may book your tickets 6 months in advance
Please note: Your exchange voucher will be delivered to your address 3 months before > your departure date

          • @WalterBiH: thanks for that - I'm more comfortable to book now.

          • @WalterBiH: omg thanks - I'll send them an enquiry to clarify their position!

          • +1

            @WalterBiH: yep confirmed

Thank you for reaching out to KLOOK Support.

Regarding your inquiry for JR Whole Japan Rail Pass (Consecutive 7, 14, or 21 Days), yes you could buy the JR Pass for May 2020 as you can purchase 6 months in advance.

For any other questions, feel free to let us know. Happy to assist with your travel plans.

            • @mrshorty: Thanks for confirming!

Is it usually 90 days before you leave the country? or when you use it? I'm not planning on using it until a few days after I arrive in Tokyo.

              • +1

@bugsbunny: I think its 90 days before you redeem it (ie when you use it)

you must validate and exchange your order for the actual pass, which must be made a maximum of 90 days after your purchase. Therefore, you should buy your Japan Rail Pass a maximum of 90 days before you exchange your order for the actual Japan Rail Pass.
                https://www.jrailpass.com/blog/how-to-use-japan-rail-pass

So these guys just delay the delivery and ship out the JR pass exchange order so that it complies with the 3 months before your redeem date

                • @mrshorty: Hi all,

This is the reply I received:

                  Dear ______,

Thank you for reaching out to KLOOK Support.

I apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the booking 1420-JR Whole Japan Rail Pass (Consecutive 7, 14, or 21 Days) ABR679091, upon double checking on the details of the booking, it has not been confirmed yet and is still on pending. Reason for this is that the activity and package booked is for pre-selling. The Exchange Order that will be mailed for this booking will be valid for 90 days from the date of issue or confirmation - reason why this booking is not confirmed yet. The booking will be confirmed just in time for your selected travel date (in order for it not to be an issue with the validity). You may check your e-mail from time to time as once this booking will be confirmed, the voucher will be sent to your e-mail address.

For any other questions, feel free to let us know. Happy to assist with your travel plans.

    • Not good experience with them either. Their system messed up the order of my name, made it different to my passport, and refuse to fix it unless I pay 10% processing fee.

      • Oh that doesn't sound good. Their system messed up your name?

        • They ask you to enter full name as A B C, and automatically take B C as last name, where only C is the last name on the passport.

  • Any idea if this will work with cashrewards? I noticed they added the 10% off deal but it says no code required.

    • Yes - it worked for me.
4.9% cashback tracked and confirmed by Cashrewards e-mail (after 10% discount as well - so very happy with total savings).

Doesn't let me use the code for JR pass? You sure it works? I get "this promo code is not applicable for your country/region"

Trying to order a 14 day whole Japan JR pass.

Works for me, check your account has your mobile linked and is set to Australia

      • Ah, that worked. Thanks for the help :)

  • First time planning a trip to Universal Orlando Florida.
Could I get recommendations on how to proceed with it?
Regarding booking tickets for 2 Universal Parks
I prefer staying at one of the 3 hotels which offer complimentary express pass I believe.
Plus I'll be flying from NY to Orlando.

Would appreciate advice regarding all the bookings who's done something similar. Tia

Rep has confirmed 15% was a deal valid 12am-3am only

    • Oh cool! Such a strange promotion time. I FB message Shopback and they said they need to check :(
How did you find out? Thanks

      • I messaged the rep on Ozbargain.
Good deal for you, I missed out by 15 minutes :(

Very tempted cashback rate right? Never fell for it. I've never received any cashback more than $11 in a single transaction, even though I spend $200+, $300 with their "10%-20%" ads. rate. All my bigger amount of transactions either being ignored or rejected by this company, I just realized recently through the last Black Friday sales. They only tracked some books orders, any single item more than $50 was missed out. And when I chase them back, they got rejected. Looking into my rewarding history, that's the trick they play.

    • Never had issues with them. My Uniqlo 30% cashback didn't track, I messaged them all the details and it was approved. Do you have click history on Shopback?

      • I did everything as they requested, and send them all orders' confirmation, shipments info. But still, rejected. Not just recently, my previous transaction with car rentals and Nike are all missed, which I can't chase back because of expired. Before I thought I must do sth. wrong, but this time I found their patten.

  • +1

    It says "
    Take 10% off Japan activities
Min. spend $200 AUD. Make sure you have an Australian / New Zealand number in your account."

Not Min. spend $100 in the title..

    • E-mail is wrong. I thought min $200 as well when I got it earlier this morning. When I tried to book just Keisei Skyliner for ~$146, Klook showed min spend $100 and applied the discount.

BTW, since then, I've added JR Passes as they can now be booked 6 months in advance, so my spend was over $200 anyway (way over in fact - just dropped ~$1900 for 5 people, but saved heaps ;).

  • I will be in japan march next year,

The Exchange Order is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase. Please redeem your JR Pass within 3 months of its issuance

    How is this calculated?

So me buying it today it will expire by the time i leave in late March?

    Edit: Just saw previous post.

  • The process is complicated to pick up a JR pass confirmation letters from Klook. I cannot be bothered you need to give so much notice in advance.

It's even more complicated when you try to buy for a family of four

I would rather not save that 10% and just book directly via JR you get it instantly via email and it's valid. You still need to collect at JR stations anyway

    • +2

Have you ever had or used the JR pass? Or ever had it emailed to you?

I dont think you cant get it from JR directly and cant get it emailed either - you need to buy the exchange order from one of these places which you then redeem once youre in Japan

      https://japanrailpass.net/en/purchase.html
      https://www.jrailpass.com/faq/japan-rail-pass-email

      • An email is all you need to collect if you book JR pass. The exchange order method is ridiculous and time consuming. Whoever neg can f#$& off

Why pay upfront when you arrive and pay on the spot? Unless you are very keen to not change travel plans and wants to pay upfront and wait three months for cashback which muggy not even get tracked

        • +1

I upvoted to return you back to neutral but don't take anyone's negs to heart mate :)

I went through the process a long time ago through JTB (one of the resellers) and wasn't too much hassle for me. Think a 10% off with 10% cashback (so just under 20% in total) will be enough for me to get through klook.

I didn't realise you could get through JR directly + via email. Don't see much difference in printing it yourself and getting it sent to you (at no extra cost) but that's me…

          • -2

@mrshorty: Thanks a lot of people don't understand. I'm just trying to point out this is not the only method to get JR pass. And not everyone should be prepaying something if they are not 100% sure on travel plans for mere cashback

Upvote you for your honesty and comment

    • Isn't the purchase process the same with all retailers? Ie. You receive a piece of paper in the mail where you redeem at the jr office in Japan. How is klook any different?

(I've purchased the JR pass multiple times at 3 different websites including from Klook and they all had the same process)

Don't think you can elect to receive an email copy and it cannot be purchased directly from JR.

      • -1

You can buy directly doesn't have to be exchange I just done it in May. Again whoever neg me has no clue.
You just print the email confirmation and you collect at station and you pay there. You don't need to prepay

This exchange order is a hassle. It used to be like this and still is if you get it from Klook or travel agencies. For 10% off difference I won't bother to deal with Klook and its a cashback

This new method from JR was introduced in May 2019

Example: JR West pass reservation. Google it you don't pay until you get there. However you provide your passport details on booking.

Tip: JR station takes cash only. Also prepare to queue regardless which method you used to collect

This is best option for anyone who might change schedule closer to getting JR

        • I think you are mistaken. You can buy jr east and west pass directly through jr in Japan or on their website. But the national (whole of Japan) jr pass can only be purchased through travel agents before you arrive in Japan.

You are being neg because you are providing the wrong advice and misleading other people. People could have missed out on this deal because of this.

Please provide link to purchase the national jr pass directly and receive by email if otherwise.

Mrshorty has already a link from jr website stating you can't.

Just to reiterate, we are talking about the national jr pass for the whole country. For long distance traveling. Ie Tokyo to Osaka. Not the east, west or Hokkaido pass. Which is limited to the specific region of Japan only. The JR pass is substantially more value and worthwhile.

  • I created a new account to get a JR pass but got a error saying the the code has been redeemed so I created another one.
It now says my country/region is not applicable.
    EDIT:
Need to finish setting up the profile with Australia Address/number!

  • Does anyone know if you will still get cashback tracked if you partly pay using Klook Credits?

    • I think it says on the cashback info that the 10% is calculated after the credits

  • +2

Ill be in japan on the 5th of march would the jr pass be valid for this period? The info is confusing me

    • Yes it will be - just put in the date you want to activate it, they will send it out 90 days before so it's valid when you go to hand in the exchange order

      • I am leaving next week for Fukuoka. They will just send something digitally right? Not physical else I won't get it in time.

Btw discount code deal still works for 10% for me. Says expires tomorrow 8/12 4am. Just not 10% cash back double dip, just 4%.

  • Can anyone who bought a JR pass, that the email you receive that contains the voucher. Is the pdf attached on email, the exact same file when you click "View Voucher" link?

Reason why I ask is because the URL does not work but email does contain the pdf.

    • I believe that is the case. But just keep in mind that the Klook voucher can only be used if you selected to pick up the exchange order from one of their available sites.

If you are not picking up then my understanding is they will post out the exchange order and you then trade that in to get your rail pass when you’re in Japan.

      • Oh sorry perhaps I should have been more clear. I got the north Kyushu pass, not "the" JR pass. The notes on the pass says:

        Redemption Information:
You can present either a printed or a mobile voucher with your passport for this activity
JR Pass must be redeemed 90 days from the booking date

Another thing I'm worried about is, I am going to activate it on the 23/12, and so I put 23/12 when I booked. But I plan to go to a JR station on the 16/12 as there is one convenient for me then. I'm still going to active it on the 23/12 but would it be ok to rock up on the 16?

        • +1

Ah right. Does appear the redemption process is different for the Kyushu passes.

Unfortunately I have no idea about how the dates work when it comes to Klook for that particular pass. No harm in trying. Good luck :)
