The caption on the first bath mat reads "CHRISTMAS - COME BACK TO ME, YOU KNOW MY LONELINESS IS ONLY KEPT FOR YOU. MY SWEET SONGS ARE ONLY SUNG FOR YOU"

        Chinglish at its best

I think it's there to draw attention. I say this because I only clicked on this deal to find out what it was.

    • Nothing, just to get your attention, and success. lol

      • But no upvotes.

"If the bending phenomenon occurs, the turning surface is placed in a flat position to be stored"

    Amazing.

I was wondering what a diatom mat was so went into the listing to determine that diatom is short for diatomaceous. Looked it up on Google like a good internet user and "diatomaceous is a naturally occurring, soft, siliceous sedimentary rock that is easily crumbled into a fine white to off-white powder."

OP, what on earth is this?

Its also used to make maple syrup too, to filter. Diatomaceous earth

    • what on earth indeed.

  • There are four similar looking products, that are cheaper, on the page at the link.

    • They are different size, and different design.
This product is in Australia, so can delivery before Xmas. :)

Drying your feet with a towel is so primitive

could not figure out what that UFO looking thing is.

Haha I was confused too until I realised they were trying to illustrate that it was soft as a pillow.

      • +6

        Damn, that's a shame.

I thought it was some type of space age gel product that swallowed your feet and when you pulled them out they would be completely dry.

    • +3

lol i thought it was like a hand drier for feet

    • An idea to drive attention. lol
It's actually hard surface, not soft.

  • +2

So is the product a mat or that ufo?

    • UFO mat, something very new. :)

  • Orgasmic mat!

  • +2

FYI, I think these are hard mats, something akin to a big flat but smoother pumice stone that is somewhat pourous.
Just making those aware that may think it's soft like a regular bath 'mat'.

have one of these, (wife bought a couple in varying sizes) let's say it feels like stepping on gyprock without the paper. its a smooth hard texture. basically it's meant to absorb the water quickly from where you touch it. to this day (after more than 6 months) I still don't get what it does. I "think" I leave slightly less dark foot prints on the carpet by stepping on it first coming out of the shower than without.

    • You let her keep the credit card after that?

      Dear lord.

At first i thought the cloud like object was for sale and got interested, then i read the ebay ad that its the matt under the rainbow cloud.

…you think an uncomfortable bath mat made from stone that costs $30 is worth upvoting..??

  • I have something like this a few years ago. My experience with the one i got is that it works really well for the first 4-6 months, then it doesn't absorb as well as it did.

During the first few months, it does absorb moisture very well. So instead of putting a floor mat/towel to dry your feet (and avoid slipping) that needs to be replaced/washed regularly, you can use this instead that works better and doesn't require much maintenance.

However, here in Australia, given how dry the weather is here, even if we use a floor mat/towel, if we just hang it up afterwards, the mat would dry in a matter of couple hrs anyways.

This probably is more attractive for areas with high humidity.

    • You’re supposed to wring it out periodically.

      • I did, I took it out and let it dry for couple days. But the performance did go down after about 6 months.

        • You can simply use a sand paper to sand down the top surface a bit, and it will be great again.
This mat is designed to use for years. :)

@WillM12: That is so much more effort than washing the bath mat in a washing machine every few months.

  • Recommended to place a towel or similar under this if used on a "smooth floor".

Yup. you need a mat for your mat.

  • … 1 up vote. guess not then :D
