Gigabyte RX 590 8GB Gaming $239.20 Shipped @ FTC eBay

620
PEACHY20

Unless I'm missing something this is a great price for an RX590 8GB card. Especially considering 5500 XT's released pricing (~$300+ AUD most likely).

probably not shipped till next year

Estimated between Mon. 23 Dec. and Tue. 24 Dec.

      • +1

I ordered a graphics card from them on 2nd dec, still don’t have it yet. Not impressed.

        • Fair enough. Maybe not the best option for a Chrissy present then :D

          • @Shard: Risky going Christmas present on anything at this stage in the game, but would expect this is current stock fire sale.

They might have jumped the gun, considering the 5500xt is underwhelming currently.

        • My order of a graphics card on Black Friday just arrived on 11/12/19.

I got the shipping info fairly quickly (sendle) but the scheduled pickup was a week after the order nearly. (then it was delayed further, no idea why)

They were pretty responsive on the Ebay questions though.

Patience is rewarded but if you are in a hurry I would go elsewhere.

        • Curious as to what card you got? I ordered a 5700 XT from them on December 9th, and it arrived today.

          • @hikarikami: I remember my order for my 2080ti from launch presales. It took them roughly 3 months to get it to me and trust me by 1 month in I was writing letters asking them to cancel and to return my money.

          • @hikarikami: MSI 2080 Super
Maybe they only get stock in after the order is placed and the money is cleared???

      • I ordered a Gpu from them during black Friday weekend and it came 8 or 9 days after. I did also order a monitor from them the same day and that only took 3 days.

The monitor was sent via courier please and the gpu sent via sendle. It seems the smaller packages get sent through smaller company.

        • Sendle is just a rebranded CouriersPlease service. I use Sendle for my eBay selling, and CouriersPlease always pick it up and the tracking I get is CouriersPlease.

Also, every Sendle package I've received has been delivered by CP too.

      Yep, every post for FTC items has multiple people complaining about their dodgy postage methods;
      Take ages to receive item
sell items they don't have in stock (so takes 3-4 weeks to arrive)
mark stuff as sent when it is not
No replies to queries about items

Plenty of similar bad feedback on Ebay too

Basically Ebay shouldn't be promoting this company till they fix their misleading practices

      • +4

my guess is they take your order and money then buy stock from china.

It takes 2-3 weeks to ship to Aus, then going through local posting system.

      • mark stuff as sent when it is not

With eBay when you provide the tracking number I think it automatically marks it as sent even if you haven't dispatched it yet

        • How could they supply tracking information for a delivery that hasn't been sent yet? Unless they are just making it up.

          • @magic8ballgag: You can register the package with sendle and then set a pickup date a week later.

            • +1

@curtturtle: Yeah, if they're not using something like sendle, most companies that post a lot of stuff will have a stack of postage/tracking slips to attach to items.

Just scan the barcode into the system and set it aside, eBay marks it as "shipped", which means they're covered with regards saying "Oh it was shipped on X".

Then, when their dropship arrives with all their items, they attach your postage slip they set aside and send it out.

      • Agreed; ordered a CPU 2 weeks ago with a delivery est. of 2-3 days, just came in today and the box had been crushed (CPU was undamaged).

        • At least you got a box. My 9900K from FTC came in foam, tape and a drawstring bag.

  • 5500 XT is a total dud for the prices they are asking: https://www.pccasegear.com/category/193_2063/graphics-cards/…

Please do not be the idiot who buys them right now

      Aussie retail at its best

      We pay premium for everything

Would be interesting to see how much 1650 Super going for

    • 5500XT seems to be ~15% faster than 580(and 590 is the same as 580 iirc), but you save power ~70watts over the 580 full load - that's quite a good improvement

if you want perf/$ a 470/570 is still the best eg: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/503324

      • +2

Used mining cards from China? Yeah nah.

      • +2

(and 590 is the same as 580 iirc)

Maybe they're just clocked higher but the 590 is a fair chunk quicker than 580

        • Maybe they're just clocked higher but the 590 is a fair chunk quicker than 580

pretty sure its something like 5%, you can easily make up for it by manually overclocking

just use google guys it takes like 1 min:

The 5500 XT is slower than the 590 (which is not the exact same as the 580) and well over $100 more expensive right now for the same amount of VRAM. AMD have had plenty of fantastic product launches over the last year but this is clearly not one of them

      • +3

All the reviews I've seen have the 590 as actually faster. I watched 2 reviews today. Hardware unboxed were particularly scathing of the 5500XT.

        • yeh i skimmed the techyescity review first and they seemed to have cherry-picked results

      • +2

I agree. I bought two pre-owned MSI RX 570 Gaming X 4GB for $115 each. I was going to wait for the RX 5500 but gave up and I'm glad I did because it's more expensive than the estimated price of AUD $200-250.

    • You can get a 1660 super for the same price as the 5500xt 8gb. Sad. The 1660 will blow it into oblivion.

    • +2

5500 XT is not even competitive with Nvidia's offerings.

1660 Super can be had for mid 300's on these 20% off eBay sales and it's better than the 5500 XT. Otherwise, the 1650 is cheaper and not that much worse than the 5500 XT.

      The 5500 XT is a ~ $270 card, not ~ $320.

  • -3

Similar performane to a GTX 1060.

    • +4

Wrong. The 590 is about 15% faster than the 1060 6GB.
It does depend on game and res, but averaged out is about 15%.

      • Wrong. Some games the 590 is faster, other games the 1060 is faster.

        • +4

The 1060 6GB was a closer match to the 580 8GB - even then, the 580 8GB was faster on average.

  • anyone know if it comes with any free game? e.g borderland 3?

    • The promo page lists the RX 590 at the bottom.

      • +1

Just be careful - according to someone who posted in one of the recent FTC threads, FTC said they did not receive the game codes from their supplier so would not provide to buyers.

        • that was what i was afraid of, the game + xbox pass could offset the price around $40, making it even better deal

For those not sure about ordering from FTC due to shipping issues etc this was my experience from the last sale hopefully this may help some of you's make a decision. I ordered the Gigabyte 2070S on Thursday and received shipping info on Saturday. Expected delivery time was originally the following Wednesday but then tracking info updated to collection on Thursday. Nothing came on Thursday and later that night tracking info changed to failed pickup and collection organised again but now without a specific date. I rung FTC Sunnybank store on Friday and they were actually pretty helpful and gave me the contact number to their warehouse. The guy at the warehouse said that they received overwhelming amount of orders and supply was not keeping up but they had just received a shipment that morning. I asked if I was able to come into the warehouse to collect it myself and they said if my unit has arrived they are happy for me to do so but they will have to go look for it and see if I am still in line for my unit or if my card was already packed for shipping etc. About 15 minutes later they rung back and said they found my card and gave me the address to their warehouse so I was able to go and collect it myself. So not ideal obviously but to their credit they were actually quite helpful throughout and they really were getting smashed with orders (saw crazy large pallets packed waiting to be shipped).

    • To counteract this, I ordered the 5700 XT from them on December 9th. I never received a tracking number, and the estimated delivery date on Ebay was for next Wednesday. Got a delivery at lunchtime today, turns out it's my card from FTC. I went in thinking it would be slow, but only took 4 days. Pretty happy.

      • Yea I was admittedly annoyed when my card was running late and then didn't show but FTC guys were quite prompt communicating with me and genuinely tried to be helpful so I am happy.

    • I've overall had a positive experience with FTC, been a customer of theirs in the past. They delivered pretty quickly (within a few days) so I do believe their story that they're simply overwhelmed with orders at the moment.

      • Yea it's my first ever dealing with them and I was happy with the way they handled the situation; I definitely acknowledged the fact that they were swamped with orders (see what happens when you don't price jack before a sale) and I that I appreciated the service.

I’d rather pay 10% more than ever deal with ftc_computers ever again

  • RX 5500 XT 8Gb Cheapest on static ice is $379 :) and this card is faster then it.

    • AMD Finewine technology. Give the drivers for the 5000 range time to mature and develop.

  • these guys hold ur cash and wait to see 5500XT wholesale prices.

  • Grabbed one for my Hackintosh. No hurry so don't care if it takes ages.

    • +3

What are you going to do on that mate, garage band?

      • +1

        Fullscreen terminal.

        Scrolling will be amazing!

  • This is the sort of price America was getting 2-3 months ago, and it was a steal.

  • In case anyone's following this (or for future reference), my card arrived today via TNT.

FTC didn't mark it as sent on eBay so it was surprise.

I ordered on the 13th so it took 3 business days to arrive.

edit: just opened the box and they've sent the non-RGB RX590 :(.

    • I received mine yesterday also (although I was notified via eBay as it was marked as sent and then delivered).

      What model did you receive?

      • rev 2 of Gigabyte's rx590. Same specs no lights. The model advertised is rev 1, if it was rev 2 I would have still put it up here but not bought myself.

I was keen on syncing it white with the rest of the system and having the passive cooling indicator.

Gigabyte have unfortunately dropped the indicator in their latest gen cards. Bit bummed out as I thought I had my vid card sorted for the next few years.

  • Mine appeared as shipped and expected to be delivered on the 18th by Australia Post Express Post. When you click for more details it just says "Tracking provided though".

It's now the 19th and still no card and I have to be home to sign for it so it's a real pain being stuck waiting for a card that may or may not be on its way.

What do you mean non-RGB? As in no lights?

    • Yeah they sent the rev 2, Windforce version. Same specs just no lights.

  • I just got an email from Australia Post to expect it by Friday 20 Dec 2019.

The irony is that I am in Brisbane and it was sent from Brisbane.. so.. guess it's faster if you live interstate?
