  • what are the benefits of TGG commercial?

    • +5

      commercial pricing at TGG

    • +1

The deal is 'TGG commercial free'

It's the new streaming platform for The Good Guys, but with no other commercials, just theirs which they class as holiday jingles and infotainment.

  • +3

The bad guys was running this since 2017 May or maybe earlier

  • +7

This has been a long term offer. I joined over a year ago. It's part of Sunsuper rewards.

Some of the pricing is better on the commercial site. Some of its the same as the retail site.

For example, I did get an extremely cheap LG washer a few months back on the commercial site. Even with the recent sales, hasn't come close to that price yet anywhere else.

Can you just register and lurk and not buy stuff for a long time?

It would be good to have access in case you need to buy something.

      • Definately, also you can do click and collect. Whenever I try and use it in store I'm met by confusion as it mustn't be very common, then a manager gets involved, but works out in the end.

      • +1

Definitely, it was close to a year before I did my first purchase after registering an account.

    • Agree, im kicking off renovations and need a bunch of kitchen appliances, seems certain brands are much cheaper on commercial (F&P for example) and others not at all (Bosch).

      Handy to have.

Also i asked in the good guys store if they will price match GGC, they said don't bother as they can't get close.

      • Each time I've done it they've matched it, they just take the phone with GGC opened, take it to a manager then come back.

I think a lot of businesses eg real estate agents use this. It’s not bad and easier than negotiating. Some stuff isn’t that cheap but it’s cheaper than the usual RRP at least for what I’ve looked at.

I wish Sunsuper would get JB Hifi’s equivalent site on board though!

  • I registered on G'day rewards and submitted the form for TGG commercial access. Never heard back and it's been over a month. Do I need to contact G'day rewards customer support?

    • It took me about 10 days to get the account, I'd resubmit the application

Can I register with Sunsuper rewards if I only have Superannuation account with them?

    • yes

  • cheers - registered

    • update - my account is now setup & i just logged in

    Thanks OP. Registered.

I moved my super over from australiansuper to sunsuper for their lower costs and access to vanguard etfs. This is a nice little bonus.

looks like you actually went the other way with regards to fees according to latest APRA heatmaps as of 10 Dec 2019: https://i.imgur.com/HGxPS40.jpg

Unless your super balance is 10K, AustralianSuper is cheapest for 50K balances and above, not to mention lower investment performance too for Sunsuper.

Thanks for sharing. I couldn't quite make out the numbers in the imgur due to img compression. After the download of heat map I could only see the life cycle product of sunsuper which from my Google search is a predefined mix and I suspect higher fees as a result.

I've got mine under the direct etf which charges 9 basis points 0.09 from memory for both the vanguard vas and vgs equivalent. Unfortunately there was no indexing option when I switched to Australian super 10 years ago. Given the indexing nature that I prefer, the lower investment performance is moot for me and its all about the mer and etf options.

I suspect if you're with aussuper, host plus, sunsuper, firststatesuper etc with a sensible asset mix for your age/risk profile etc you're probably in a very good position.

  • Sunsuper vs Australian Super. Any differences at all ?

    • +2

Not the author but check out an Australian fire bloggers comparison.
Lower fees, transparency, finer control of asset splits via vanguard etfs.
      https://lifelongshuffle.com/2019/03/24/not-so-super-retireme…

We use a number of market weighted cap index etfs outside of super so it made sense to have that control within super versus the default 'balanced' or 'growth'.

    • yes, AustralianSuper > Sunsuper see latest APRA heatmap above.

      • +3

Like most things, devil is in the detail. If it's a predefined default mix, maybe?

But if you want to go via index options I don't think AusSuper is the best option. Pat the shuffler has done a great 3 part comparison and surprisingly Australian super is one of the more expensive. I linked in previous comment so all credit to him.

If you really want to go down the rabbit hole, check out Pats Google spreadsheet.
