[Refurbished] Apple TV 4K 64GB $239 Delivered @ Apple Australia

140

Long time member first time poster so be easy.

Not a bad deal considering they never really have stock as much as the 32gb model.

Based off past post they don’t seem to be in stock for long.

I picked up one yesterday, price matched proper at Office works for $246 (5% off). So if you want a brand new one for $7 more…

    • Does this include free Apple TV+?

      • +1

I'd assume so, cant see why it wouldnt. I got a new iphone 11 when it released so ive got the year free already.

      • Yes you get 1 year of apple tv+ provided you have not already claimed

    • Did they noticed the Apple one is refurbished?

  • I have Mi Box. Is it worth to upgrade to Apple TV? Apart from AirPlay instead of Chromecast, what're other benefits will I get if I make the swtich?

    • From what I understand the Apple TV is all about if your in the Apple eco-system or not. If you don’t own a ton of apple products ranging from their iPhone to apple audio products such as beats or AirPods there isn't any reason to upgrade.

      • I do own AirPods. So I assume the Apple TV would let me connect with my AirPods? But if it's just for the Apple eco-system, then I may pass on this awesome deal.

        • The Mi Box has Bluetooth so you should be able to pair the Air Pods? Have you tried?

    • Thanks all. Enough for me to decide whether to upgrade or not.

One of the reasons I got this was for Dolby Atmos support. The only other (reliable) box to have this is the nVidia Shield, which finally has seen a refresh.
The UI is pretty good, after having used Vodafone TV, Kodi, OSMC and what not.

i got a new shield tv pro last week from the states, amazing bit of kit does everything my other 3 devices use to do. cannot speak highly enough of them.

  • You can also add any Bluetooth headphones in settings but Apple’s are more seemless for those who want a easier experience. Another reason why people buy it is because it has one of the better user interfaces that syncs with all of the streaming services and the ability to play Apple Arcade using controllers on a big screen

Another reason I won't be getting it. I don't really have any subscriptions of Apple's except Music.

      • When I mean streaming services I mean Netflix Stan Amazon Disney plus etc if that wasn’t clear.

      • Not Apple subscriptions - all subscriptions in general.

Oh.. Doesn't Android TV support that too? I guess the key word is "better user interfaces" when on Apple TV?

  • Can this thing play 1080p mkv files though USB?

    • +1

      There isnt a USB in

  • What about playing local content ? I don't think there is Kodi on the list of Apps for the Apple TV. Is there an Apple App equivalent ?

  • @SickDmith Thanks for that info.

Hmm…. I have Infuse on my iPad and know that it's a paid App, so too is MrMC. Plex needs a server setup, so not for the those who are looking for a simple App to just play local content.

For me, I guess I'll have to see if I can also use my purchased infuse App on the Apple TV.

  • If you regularly watch certain shows on catchup TV channel apps does the Apple TV interface notify you when a new episode is available or do you still have to open each app to check yourself?
