Added up to $966 with delivery.

    • Item won't be sent to my postcode….

$10 more expensive at HN and you could pickup

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-65-inch-ru7100-4k-uh…

    specs look good esp HDR

    mixed results here

    https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ru7100

    • Isn't this the same model or am I missing something?

    • $975 at HN?

      • $860 after discount but when you add delivery it's not that much cheaper than a pickup at a local HN

    • Got it for $938 at local TGG in stock.

  • This or hisense/tcl?

    • Definitely this at this price

      • +3

Software might be better on this but picture quality looks better to me on 65R7.

      • Hisense has better models

    • Hisense 100%

    Average picture quality…

    Is this 4K or FHD?

    • Click on the link in the op's post for the answer

        • Are you seriously complaining about this lol

          • @nikoris: 4k..

No TV at this size would be HD

  • Does it run/compatible with Plex?
Can't find the model in the compatible list here:

    https://www.samsung.com/us/appstore/app/G00002687241-compati…

    • Can confirm on the last year models (NU Series) that it does. it would not surprise me if the new one doesnt have it as the NU vs RU series are very slight upgrades. Alternatively if you own an iOS device you can also airplay to the Tv built in without an apple tv which is pretty cool

      • Can confirm that at least the RU8000 has the Plex app.

    • It has a Plex app, but when I tried streaming 4K@HDR10 it kept buffering and rewinding itself. The Apple TV I have next to the TV played the same content fine.

      • Same experience with high bit-rate HEVC/H.265 content, especially when a subtitle is enabled.

    • The 2016 models had a Plex in their App Store - I’d be surprised if they didn’t make it available to current models

    Is the Q75R any good?

    • +2

It will be way better than the 7100!
The lowest q75r has been was 1.85k I believe during black Friday.

Edit: sorry, it's the 65 inch.

    • +4

It's very good. Especially so at this price. I bought the Q6 for $300 more than this, and it's a excellent TV. The Q75R at this price is insane.

    • +4

The Q75R is the real deal here. I bought it a few months ago for $1600 and it's insanely good. Software is reliable and fast, picture quality is incredible and you don't need to worry about burn in like with OLEDs.

    • +1

Bought my father this from videopro a while back on sale for $1600.
It is a bright, beautiful TV. That makes my old HD look prehistoric. Even an 82 year can operate it.

I am very tempted but in the middle of renovations and I am making myself wait. This is the best deal here.

    • +1

Yep, great panel but HDR peak brightness comes at a cost of shitty local dimming which will display blooming.
I don't know what these manufacturers are thinking using FALD with an abysmal amount of zones.
Sony are no better (except for the Z series).

    • Falcons area disgusting TV.

      • -1

I have been pixel peeping at jb hifi and big w lately, and can tell you among the cheap tvs, ffalcons are the better looking with better image quality.

        • +1

They are still disgusting. Just dont

Bought 55ru7100 for 1095 from TGG in Oct this year, any way to return and get 65 inch one? Don't know if there is any sort of price guarantee

  • +1

This OR the LG 65 UM7400 @ $995, which is better?

I came here to ask the same question

The RU7100 is poor quality, don't go near it.

The leg stands weigh 50grams, the screen 'black' colour is almost grey

  • Rock bottom price for a 55" Q75R. Black Friday low was $1595

It went as low as $1375 on Black Friday (20% discount code on eBay via VideoPro).

  • Just letting you guys know this TV does NOT support DTS audio.

  • can Q75R play movies (.avi, .mkv?) off usb drives ? any idea ?

  • I have the 65. With some tweaking it’s a great looking set with excellent contrast (set to low black in the external input manager for games). Super low input lag for games too, surprisingly good sound, and AirPlay/ Apple TV functionality. The caveat is that HDR content isn’t bright enough, so it can look murky with it enabled. I disable it on my input devices, but it can’t be disabled for inbuilt Netflix etc. I reckon overall it’s a steal at that price.

  • Q75 65" for that price tomorrow?!

  • Is the Q75R QLED the same as this Samsung Q70/Q70R QLED https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/q70-q70r-qled

    • +2

Yep, it is the same TV. Not really sure why they added the 5 for Australia.

"Unfortunately, Australia AV fans can only pick between three versions of the TV, all of which are called the Q75R there. That said, expect to find the QA55Q75RAWXXY (AU$2,899); QA65Q75RAWXXY (AU$4,099); and QA75Q75RAWXXY (AU$5,899)."

This is such a good deal I really want to get one, even though I have no room for it at the moment. The article shows that overseas they have a 49" version which would probably be the one I would go for but no luck with any reasonably high spec TVs under 55" in Oz.

      • Cheers pepto!

      • These days 49"/50" tends to be "lite" versions of the same model in larger sizes which is a shame

  • Good review here, this guy is probably the best out there at professional reviews.

A few small issues with blooming with the local dimming but at this price or really is a steal.

  • Do upgrade from a RU8000 to Q75R?
Do I really want to put up with blooming for better HDR PQ?
    My instinct says no.

    • +1

I would say no, there won't be that much difference. If there is a deal for an LG B9 for under $1500 tomorrow then you might see some value in it but the Q75R will only be a small improvement from what you already have.

I got this TV 2 years ago and would see a big jump in HDR with the Q75R when I play PS4 but lately I don't seem to have any time and the TV is mostly playing ABC Kids for my young ones.

      Hmmm…..

  • Chasing a 75" Q75. Hoping for a great price tomorrow…

can anyone recommend the Sony 65-inch X80G over this one? its $1295 at HN, JB and bing lee but it seems that it sold for 1199 last month at myer. it has android tv but as far as the picture quality and smoothness and upscalling goes how do they compare? is it worth the extra $?

  • You can go to JB and price match Powerland for $1399 if you want the tv asap. Combine with gift cards etc for the q75r.

We picked up the 55" Q75R for $1336 at TGG tonight an hour before closing time. Showing the salesperson this post.

  • +5

Thanks for the post and thread guys. 1st user here. I got a cracking deal this morning on the 55 inch Q75R after reading soidesire's last post. I called TGG to see if they were interested in matching Videopro's $1336, they said "Sure, we'll do it for a flat $1300.

I quick TGG gift card purchase (4% discount) and i had the TV for $1248.

    Good buying i reckon. Thanks.

    • Thanks Twoshoes and all for this thread - 1st user here as well. I have been researching TVs since boxing day and am increasingly convinced the Q75 is the way to go, and OzBargain has been a great source of actually working out how much TV sets have been going for recently.

I assume this is a stupid question, but how does one get a TGG gift card with a 4% discount?

Also is there a way that you can set alerts on when someone uploads a deal on a particular item? ie. the Q75?

      Thanks

      Andrew

    • +1

@twoshoes hey mate acan you show a receipt? that sounds like a good price. thanks

      • Striker5950, I ended up calling Harvey Norman Richmond (Melb) and the bloke was more than happy to cut the price right down to $1,306 when I mentioned I'd heard Good Guys had done one for $1,300. Worth a shot if you're still looking

  • Hi Striker5950, I made a photocopy of the reciept but I cant see a way to upload it to this post/thread ?

    • Hi Twoshoes,

      Can do a google drive or drop box link; otherwise this should help;

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/218823

I think I’m sold on the Q75 so would be great to be able to show the sales assistant proof of the deal!
