Really got me thinking about the 5700 XT

    • Havent looked back on my purchase, stays nice and cool with a manual fan curve.

There was an eBay deal recently that had the Gigabyte Windforce 2070S OC for 600AUD (20% off) with a free 1TB WD M.2 SSD. Would have jumped the gun on this if that deal never existed - but now I'm going to be a bit patient.

        • The 5700xt in this deal is eligible for a 512gb m.2 nvme ssd through this promo as well at the moment.

        • What's the difference, similar price and performance in respect to the previous deal you got?

          • @chyawala: Gamers Nexus Review for the specific Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT Gaming OC 8GB card here:
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Muy91S9EmZc

…but because most of the 5700 XT models have similar performance (in terms of FPS/etc.), they don't really discuss the card's performance much in that review outside of noise, thermals and costs. So this next review below is good for discussion of the performance of the 5700 XT in general; both against other AMD as well as Nvidia cards (2060, 2060 Super, etc.):
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SAWtKEIYbw&feature=youtu.be
Benchmarks start from about 9m24s into the video.

          • @chyawala: Without much of the technical stuff, basically how I'm seeing it is; The 2070S is a better GPU than the 5700XT and the previous deal I mentioned had the 2070S cheaper than 5700XT.

            • @Diverse: Yes the 2070 super is just a smidge under the 2080 (non super) that puts the 5700xt between the 2060 super and the 2070 super, both good options but I'd go 2070 if they were the same price as you've mentioned :)

  • Gaming laptop Prices look same no change notice.

Adding exclamation marks do not make them any more appealing.

  • +4

    Meh pricing with the 2070s.

  • I'm still debating between getting 5700 XT or 2080 Super… if the price gap between them is more like 200-300 instead, would it be worth just jumping to 2080 super?

    • Depends on your budget and what you're planning to use the computer for.

      • Mostly gaming, really

        • +1

5700XT is enough personally, save yourself some money.

Do consider the 2070S if it drops under 650.

  • Anyone dealt with thier warranties/returns policy from South Australia? Good/bad?

  • Discounts are not working properly, once I put the stuff in my cart it jumps back to normal price before check out. And no one is picking up their phone.

I guess I need to go look somewhere else.

    • Gigabyte 2070s and 5700xt shown no price change.
