Bose NCH-700 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones (Black / White / Soapstone) $449.10 Delivered @ Addicted to Audio

220
BD2020

Cheaper than other recent deals.
Just a simple 10% off discount code, saving you from messing around with Cash-back etc.

Notes: Bose QC35 understated their battery life, while Sony XM3 overstated theirs.
Tests with matched volume level & music content have proven both the QC35 & XM3 have very similar battery-life (within 1-1.5 hrs of each other).
I expect the NCH-700 to be similar to the QC35 / XM3 in terms of battery-life.

  • Ozbargain's new favourite headphone?

    • +1

To begin with I personally avoid all wireless headphones.
Out of the XM3 & NCH-700 I would probably go with the Bose due to its balanced sound-signature.

But as always it’s subjective (sound / features) and to answer your question:
I’m pretty sure the XM3’s are ozbargain’s favourite headphones, to be replaced by the XM4.

Disclaimer: The Bose NCH-700’s are known to have an issue where if you use the ANC with music paused (say you want to have a nap on the plane), after a minute or two a loud BEEP comes through the headphones and a voice says “Auto-off” or something similar and the headphones turn themselves off (and together with it turns-off the ANC).
Bose has hinted at providing an option to switch-off this “auto-off” feature in a future update of the Firmware / App, but as far as I know it is still permanently on.

      • Last update you can turn auto off to “off” now.

Best thing about these headphones over anything else is the call quality with noise canceling for the people you’re talking to, transparency mode for talking with them on and I can connect them to my Bose Soundbar for wireless listening.

        • Last update you can turn auto off to “off” now.

That’s good to hear for those interested.

Best thing about these headphones over anything else is the call quality

Yes I heard that as well. Uses beam-forming technology with multiple mics to achieve great pick-up & isolation of your voice.

      • That's a deal breaker for me.

A thing that annoys me about my Bose QC35 II is the robotic voice. The Sony uses a natural voice because it's a real recording.

Bose went with a synthetic voice similar to old Siri which sounded really grating. It's not even a lot of voice prompts you can hear. They should have recorded a real person saying it. It would have sounded better and been less work.

        • Read comment above, apparently “auto-off” is now optional in updated settings.
