        • usesd the Shopback as well. First time, will see how it goes.

  • is this 230-240V?

    • Sold in au do it would have 240 I'd imagine.. I'll confirm next week though :)

    • Yes it's the AU version which is 240V.

  • How good are these pots? Been thinking about getting a new one since my old one's inner coating (not sure how to call them) is falling off. (I'm guessing that's unsafe)

    • +1

The inner pot for the Instant pot is stainless steel. Safer than non-stick. I held out for the IP to come to Australia as every other multi-cooker available to us uses non-stick coatings on their pots.

  • Is there a big difference between this https://www.harveynorman.com.au/crock-pot-express-multicooke… ?

    • +1

I been doing the research, not heaps in it but the crockpot has anti stick inner pot which could be good and bad. Also apparently slightly less pressure like ~1psi at max.

The other one is the Philips which has more power 1300w but also anti stick costing pot but the cook timer is limited to 59 mins $139 on Amazon at the moment.

Breville fast and slow has 12 psi pressure max but the reviews have complained about locking mechanism and failure and it's also more expensive.

I just got the instapot becuase reviews and recipes have been good.

      • I'm almost certain I read instant pot is also 12psi pressure.

I've cooked a lot with mine (when I was in the US).

They also sell the inner pot, so could potentially use those in another machine assuming the size is the exact same

        • Yeah there's a few versions in the USA so yeah it's pretty hard to tell.

      • I've go the Breville fast/slow pro and the lid mechanism does tend to be unreliable and it can't do Yogurt. I've decided to go for the Instant pot to see how I go with that one.

  • Does it have a steel pot ? In US Amazon - what is its price ? (there are so many of these models that i am unabel to see which one is this one specifically)

    • It’s steel pot. US version is much cheaper but you need a big convertor.

  • this means they have had each size on special over the past 2 weeks.
grabbed the 5.7l, problem with sizes is if the pot is mainly empty, longer time to get up to pressure, but bigger pot does mean you can cater for more people if needed.

might be worth checking with corelle at their DFO outlets if they are back on special for boxing day (had 30% off a couple of weeks ago) , but for those needing postage this is a good deal for a 5.7l instant pot cooker.

these instant pots are not only stainless steel bowl inside, but are multiclad stainless so in theory no hot spots on bottom.

    • They cook very evenly, I'm currently using a Kambrook pressure cooker and nowhere near as good.

Pretty much need stainless if you want to brown/sear things.

    • I just been to DFO, no discount at all on Boxing Day.

      • Thanks for info, I wondered about that. Glad I ordered online and saved the trip. Do they have any of the accessories, like the clear glass lids?

  • Damn missed out on that 8L deal, didn't realise they came to Aus

    • +2

seems corelle bought instant pot earlier this year, so expect to see more of them in australia. the corelle factory outlet stocks them now, sometimes on. special sometimes rrp.

5.7l is a good size, and it’s easier to fit the bowl in the dishwasher than the 8l, but depends how much you cook per batch.

  • The glass lid for this one seems to be a tad hard to get hold of.

    I found this with Fishpond

    https://www.fishpond.com.au/Kitchen/Genuine-Instant-Pot-Temp…

    • Just noticed it says “certified refurbished” so, maybe, not so much.
