    Using my laptop normally on my desk gives me awful neck/back pain. I currently have my laptop sitting atop a stack of old textbooks to raise it to eye level so I'll be using this as a more elegant solution than the stack. Can't comment as to how effective the fan is at dissipating heat though.

      i do study a lot in bed, but never really thought about eye level and potential back problems, and i actually do have some back problems

        It's worth looking at ergonomics. I suffered from chronic backpain for a year before I changed up my study desk.

  I don't see much practical use for this device. It is too low to the ground which means you will need to stand it on a desk anyway!

  Bought it, fan doesnt work at all - seems to be several reviews with same problem on Amazon.
  Returning tomorrow - got location to drop it off, we shall see how good Amazon is :)
