Tried calling your local? Online says out when they go below a certain level.

        Thanks Duff5000
Went into my local. None there, but they gave me a list of nearby stores that might have one. Called Seaford (SA 5169), and managed to get the last GOT blu ray box set.
$72 purchased in store (ie both the 50% and 20% applied).
        Now to binge…

  • Cannot find any stock in Aus for GOT.

  • Damn the price of the GOT set hurts me. I've paid way more than that over the years. Oh well.

Was thinking of checking out Big W in store if so.

  • Wish a Simpsons boxed set of all the episodes existed.

They just recently release seasons 1-20 in a boxed set,

Oh god, what a croc of s$#%.

        Man…

These movie studios have more money than they know what to do with.

They 'update' these series from 4:3 to 16:9, and often they completely screw up royally.

The buffy conversion is one of the worst (and my most favorite series ever), and the 16:9 conversion had such glaring problems of 'night scenes' of buffy and angel in buffy's room, looking like daylight, because they didn't apply the film filter used for that scene, to create that vibe.

The worst mistake was when the principal from season 3 ascended into his demon form, which coincided with an full eclipse type thing happening with the sky. The film used a filter that came across the screen and darkened it from top down to bottom over a few seconds of one scene, and then was applied to every scene after in the battle.

This filter work was not done to the 16:9 conversion…

        It completely ruins the scene.

These film studios should not be in charge of remakes. Get the director's, writers, and even fans, to all contribute to create a faithful conversion.

Yep, totally agree! If the director or at least a gimp from the original production team did the restoration, it would at least be a better quality product.

Better get, get yourself a 35mm projector and play the originals if you can get them lol.

You know, I rewatched the series at the start of the year and the season 3 battle felt ‘wrong’ - now I know why, cheers

      • They've come out and said this will be fixed, if it hasn't already happened (I seem to recall them saying January though)

      • They are fixing it at least

Your Friends link goes to Seinfeld. Blasphemy!

  • Still stock of GOT Blu ray in Doncaster Shoppingtown Big W. At least 1 I can see, but potentially more in the store room.

  • I got the Futurama box set for $28 this morning.

Thanks OP! My local showed no stock for GOT complete blu, but after wandering down I spotted a shiny new copy sitting on its lonesome near the bargain bin. Marked at $185, checkout lady was stunned when it rang up as $72. I love those moments 😀

I went into my local Big W tonight asked at the counter if they had any Star Wars: The Complete Saga Blu-ray boxsets left. The guy comes back says no none left at all of their stores in SA. He also added it was on sale for $30 I said don't you mean $40 and he insisted no $30.

So anyway I go over to the locked glass cabinet and see the boxset sitting in there and asked him to get it out for me "Oh wow that's strange the computer said no stock" and as he pulls it out there is a second one sitting behind it! In less than a minute it goes from none in store to none in all of SA to two copies in store. It got better he rings it up and it's $40 I said so it's not $30 then either and he said I guess not.

If Big W have such poor stock checking ability no wonder they're going under.

      • He looked up the dvd one then instead of the BR one?
