What Has Been The Best Deal You Have Seen/Scored in OzBargain in The 2019 Year?

We've just got 1 day left in 2019 and I think it's a good time to ask everyone what their best purchase was this year or the best deal they've seen this year.

I'll go first: Mine was scoring a $19 Google Home Mini from those eBay hourly deals. Not the biggest score $$ wise but its the best $19 I've spent this year.

What's yours?

Just noticed that RiverSong posted something similar last year. So I'm copying his title to keep the chain going, credits to him/her!

Happy New Year fellow Ozbargainers, bring on the bargains of 2020!

Without doubt, has to the Bunnings drone deal.

Best deal of Ozbargain history in my opinion.

ended up only costing a few dollars for each google home mini.

  • I can't even remember what I've bought, it'd be nice if there was a little button you can click (similar to entered in the competition pages) and then at any point have a look through and go - oooh, forgot about that Faberge Egg, that was a good buy!

You can use the “have” button on the product page of the item.

It's got to be that month with all the McDonalds deals.

The new version of Nintendo Switch at $359.10 + Pokemon Sword at $55.08 from Harvey Norman.

Google Chromecast 3 at $44.25 from JB Hifi, that was the cheapest at that point of time, now you can get it at $44 from Harvey Norman & Officeworks I think.

The Sony PS member discount deal to buy those wf earphones combined with amex, and galaxy s10e jbhifi deal, sold everything and made profit of around $1500 nett.

    In January 2019 I saw:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/b?ie=UTF8&node=6267098051

    So, I invested $5.44 (($2.72x2) w/Free Freight…
and got 0.15 back from Cashrewards.com.au

    Then I won…

$500 of a iPhone XR, two free bottles of sparkling wine from referrals, $10 from UP referral, shittone of free games, and I won a whiskey prize. Circles.Life saved us a lot of money too and Exetel 2 months free was a bargain. That's over $1000 Ozbargaining has netted me I think this year.

Might have to hand it to the Samsung 64GB MicroSD for 99c on Black Friday.

Not the most exciting, but that seems best off the top of my head that I participated in.

Also honourable mention to the Catch Christmas Boost Event - got $100 off a $200 spend for $5 (plus bonus boost).

    • Nintendo Switch (2019 version) with Mario Kart 8 code for $339.
    • The Google Home Minis from the Tic Tac/ Spotify promos.
    • Game Pass Ultimate for the Xbox One being introduced and its conversion deal.
    • Amaysim vouchers from Groupon. Only paid around around $20 for a year's worth of unlimited calls and text.
    • 15% off JR Passes for Japan.

Those are the ones I got personally, as well as other smaller things not worth mentioning.

The $20 Bose soundsport wireless from eBay plus was my best buy.

Some other ones were the 1TB Samsung T5, Google Home Hub and other eBay plus deals before they got too popular and competitive (like the Airpod 2s were).

Also notable mention is the Note 10+ from EPP through a Telco for 50% off + TRS.

Getting the Sony WH-1000XM3 for $168 and the WF-1000XM3 for $175 thanks to buying multiple pairs for myself and my friends, and using my Sony Amex Statement Credit offers to bring the prices down

Best seen - $250 Bunnings drone
Best bought - 10TB hard drive for $130
Best competition - The Body Shop

  • Skagen Hagen Connected Hybrid Smartwatch (Black/Tan) $49 @ JB Hi-Fi. Called around. Got one held. When I went in to collect it, was told by the salesperson who held it for me that multiple staff had tried to buy it, despite it being on hold for customer.

    • What’s your review on this? Annoyed I missed this (or not).

      • +1

It's a nice looking watch (very Scandinavian design), easy to change battery (non-rechargeable), alerts me to incoming calls and texts (customisable alerts), pedometer activity tracking. Can track sleep too, but I never sleep with a watch on.
I bought it as I like watches and didn't have anything like this hybrid, and I liked the look of it.
My old Pebble (first gen/Kickstarter model) had much more functionality, but this was never meant to have that degree of functionality.

scored 2 X $99 Airpods, one for personal use and one for xmas gift. The smile on xmas gift recipient was priceless.

$500AUD gift cards for ~$410AUD was the best deal I jumped on, not that I've used the gift cards yet!

Circles life mobile access 4 mth free. Works out at almost 5 mths as they allowed the remainder of the sign up month as well if started after the 1st. 5 mths free internet & calls… bargain.

50" TCL smart tv for $380.

    • Circles has been surprisingly good. But will probably churn unless their ongoing prices get cheaper.

      • Had big issues with porting and the voice calls sound like rubbish, but it’s free, also their data must be counted in 1MB blocks my usage is ridiculous and I don’t even stream on mobile data

My favourite was getting 2 slabs of Mercury Hard Cider delivered for ~$22. I ordered after people said the deal was dead and to my surprise 2 weeks later I got a delivery from Dan's.

    1TB Samsung T5 for $79
    Bunnings Drone
    10TB hard drive for $130

  • The one I had the most enjoyment with, was when a friend was looking at Lego for her son. The son'd found the set was on sale for the best price he'd seen in a while. I hopped on OzBargain, and found it for $30 cheaper for them. :P
