  • Is HDMI port also support USB3.0? I don't see this mention on acer website. Is the cash back from your company or from acer?

    • Hdmi and usb are two different types of ports. Cash back is from acer.

      • Thanks. I just wonder what HDMI/USB 3.0 means? Thought it may be similar to USB2/eSata combo.

        • It's just to save space, like RAM/HDD and Wireless/Bluetooth are placed on the same line.
They aren't related features, they are completely different, nothing like the USB and eSata combo.

        • they are two different ports
          - HDMI

    15.6” Acer AS5750-2414G50Mn $598
I am having trouble finding any laptop with USB3.0 at this price.

Most of the laptop around 500 dollars only come with USB2.0.

  • Total 3 x USB ports (including 1 x USB 3.0)

performance of intel HD graphics on 2nd Gen Processor are much better comparable to low end dedicated graphics available on most gen1 laptop

  • Anyone seen these in the flesh? Worried about acer build and screen quality otherwise I'd snap one of these up.

    • Our Acer emachine will get extended warranty to 2 Years from original 1 year.
Acer Aspire (above model) will get extended warranty to 3 Years from original 2 year.

  • What's the speed of the HDD for:
    15" Acer AS5750G-2634G64Mn $799 after $99 Cash Back* (pay now $898)

After googling it, many of the hits seem to say it's 5400RPM.

And if it is 5400RPM, how much extra to upgrade it, to say to 500Gb 7200RPM?

    Thanks.

    • 5400RPM, you may need to buy 500G 7200RPM on top

    • +2

in my opinion better get SSD if you want to get better performance (much faster) and keep the original HDD for USB storage

      • Yeah but the performance improvement vs the price increase is a bit much for an SSD!

7200 still provides an increase in performance for $10-20 difference.

  • Easy to upgrade teh AS5750-2414G50Mn to an SSD drive? Either DIY or you guys offer this service?

    • yes, we can offer this service. please send email to [email protected] ask for more information.

  • well, just got the AS5750G-2634G64M, I sure hope I did the right thing. haha. I am a little worried about the lack of positives, I thought maybe this would be more at the 70's area.. 800 for i7 quad with 2gb graphics and 3 year warranty! I know it's an Acer, but.. when you're on a budget.. was going to wait for a similar spec'd dell xps 15 but even with a discount and with the 3 year warranty it would've been at least 300 more. so i decided to go on the cheap.. someone tell me i did the right (ozbargain) thing. :P

    • Spec wise, it really is hard to beat, so in that sense it's a bargain :) What do you think of the build quality?

      • Having a play now, will let you know in a sec.

    • Have you considered a desktop PC?For the same amount they offer better specs, and are more durable/repairable aswell.Out of warranty/or at own fault, laptops are mostly write offs, and cannot be fixed by trying it yourself either :-(

    • Actually I have been keeping an eye out on the dell xps i7 as well.

3 Year Warranty for Dell is in home, rather than you having to send it out and losing your laptop for a week or more.

EDIT: And yes you're right, it's at least a few hundred dollars more to increase the graphics card, the hard drive size and the warranty!

This is really good for those who prefer a laptop on a budget.

  • hey guys just looking at this one ,,,
seems Really good value to me.
    acer 15" 2nd gen i7 with 8gb ram , 2gb nvdia gt540 ,3yr warranty and free laser printer $996
    http://www.onlinecomputer.com.au/product_info.php?products_i…
    what do u think ?

Pretty much same as that one, but you're paying an extra $200 for the supposedly FREE to 8GB RAM and Xerox Laser Printer.

    • I checked their website you can add 4gb ram for only $67 , its sounds like a really good deal
plus you have 2 yrs extended warranty. I am using an Acer for the last 3.5 years now, and I am looking at a new laptop, and find this laptop an awesome bargain… but at the moment I am short on cash.

I have had no problems with my notebook except for a harddisk change, after 1.5 yrs - covered by extended warranty ( Harvey Norman).

I am happy with Acer overall..
