  • slowww

  • Trying to buy it. Was at the credit card stage and a 'glitch' reset my cart.

Now I'm getting, 'Sorry, we have encountered a problem'…

    Come on!

EDIT: Finally: Thank you - your order has been received

  • is this the old version with the wake up from sleep bug?

  • Sweet, worked like a charm. $75.05 with free delivery. Very happy.

  • purchased … couldn't resist

    • We've had a look at the return rate and we have sold a very large number of these drives since February, and we have a very low rate of return < 0.5% which for an external drive product is low so I doubt it's worse than any other USB2 2TB

      • I assume this is the same drive

        Worse purchase EVER!
Keep to another brand like WD as this range of Seagate external USB units have the slowest and most unreliable 2TB drive. My first one lasted 3 days before clicking and the second (replacement) was returned 4 days later. DSE we really good dealing with the return - but the product is definitely not the very cheap price!! this is defiitely the case of getting what you pay for.
        Cons: reliability

      • and we have a very low rate of return < 0.5%

That is about the failure rate seagate say.

Seagate claim a failure rate of 0.34%

    • That is worrying since there are over 100 comments with 1 star.

      • +4

Some of those comments are for the 1.5 TB.

Be careful with Amazon reviews. They tend to shove a lot of similar named item reviews together.

If you have tried to look at reviews for Harry Potter book sets there before, you'll know what I mean. (They shoved all the different types of book set reviews together, and it took a while to understand why some people said "don't buy this, buy the adult set" and some said "buy this and not the children set" or something along those lines.)

    • I'll test mine out pretty thoroughly when I get it, will post results

  • Finally got it…

  • Sweet. 1 minute to go & decided to go for it.

    Many thanks OP!

  • Bought at 7:59:33 seconds. Testing the limits :) Anyway checkout was painless and hassle free. hopefully the drive is also hassle free to use. Great find thanks OP

  • +1

    I resisted which is unusual;)

    • Yeah me too.
Will just wait out the USB3 deals.
I borrowed a USB2 2TB WD drive a few weeks back and filled it up with movies for a mate so slooooooooowwwwwww…….ah.

    • Same here, so close to checkout…then click the small "x" button on the top right hand corner….

      • Don't worry, you'll glad you waited.
The USB3 prices are baring down on the USB2 ones now. It wont be long now and even if your computers have USB2 ports (all mine), USB3 transfers at much better rates for most people due to no chipset bottlenecks.

        • Is usb 3 really much better for hard drives? I know I usually only get 40-50mb/s with my 7200 internal sata drives so I doubt the usb 3 interface would make much difference.

  • Bugger Missed it! Was busy working out and forgot :(

    • at least you got your muscle tone up :)

  • Thanks OP. Got one.

  • Now its 99, still cheaper than MSY's 109.

    • I missed it too. I think I saw a 2tb ext advertised at Officeworks for $94

    • $88 at iibuy

  • Arghhhhh…..missed it. Came back home at 8.03pm last night………..

  • Got mine today… damn it! Why did I order one?!

    • Problem?

    • +1

You mean that you wish that you ordered 2?

  • Got my 2 hard drives yesterday and working good. Anyone know if you can remove the hard drive so you can put the hard drive in a computer via sata?

  • *********** Has anyone only received half their order? I placed an order for 4x hdd' on 2 separate orders and received 2 drives…

    • I think there is a limitation of 2 per customer.
