Home/Office Intel PCs: i3-9100/i5-9400/i7-9700: $399/ $499/ $749 + $29 Delivery @ Techfast

670
9100-JAN9700-JAN

Due to a number of requests to Luke for GPU-less PCs for home/office/existing GPUs, TechFast have created these Intel systems with coupon codes. Offered at a great price with base spec, with plenty of upgrade options available.

Recommend for anyone installing their own GPU, or best cooling, to get the Leaper Flair case upgrade at a minimum for the exhaust fan (regular Leaper case does not have exhaust fan).

Enjoy :)

9700 i7 alone is $529 haha, crazy value here.

    • Are the other components worth ~$220?

      • $50 for the Ram
        $35 for SSD
        $60 for the case
        $70 for the PSU
        $70 for the MB

Roughly $285 in value for the rest of the parts.

Easy upgrade if you already have a compatible motherboard, just swap CPUs and sell it.

Unless you just really really wanted to go Intel (for whatever reason..), I don't see why you'd choose the i5 system over their Ryzen 5 3500X system for $61 more where you get double the RAM, a GTX 1660 and a 'better' case?

    • +1

The correct pricing on the 9400 system is $499 not $599, so the difference is $161. Still hot Ryzen pricing, but better for those wanting i5!

    • +1

There's no reason to buy an i5 anymore for anything, AMD killed it.

Well OK maybe a slight exaggeration but I can only think of Photoshop or audio processing as reasons to prefer Intel, it's dead for gaming and just about everything else.

      • +1

No, no, not a slight exaggeration at all.

  • code doesn't work

  • website doesn't sort

    • +1

you'd think a growing computer sales website would some half decent web devs ;)

        😭

    • When you say doesn't sort, what does that mean?

      • +1

Go to your link for all Intel PC's, the default is Featured sort. If you try change it to anything else it doesn't work. No biggy its not like there is a list of a 1000 items but yes its borked…

      • +1

Ya can't sort like sort by price ascending descending etc

        Money in ya pocket

        • +2

Ya can't sort like sort by price ascending descending etc

The Airtasker dude that built the website wanted an extra $20 to add that feature…

How's the Core i3-9100 Desktop PC compared to the Ryzen 3 3200g posted previously?

  • Does anyone know if the Biostar B360M motherboard come with built-in wifi adapters? If not, how does one go about adding one?

    • probably not, but it's easy enough to buy a Wi-Fi card and install into PCIE x 4 slot, similar to how you install GPU in PCIE x 16 slot

    • You can buy a tp link one for around$30. Plug and play into USB. They work fine if you're close to the router but go around a wall or something and they're shit. Source: have one.
You're much better off running an ethernet cable. Failing that, buy a powerline kit

  • If you are fast enough Core i5-9400 Desktop PC is $499 with code instead of $599 haha

    • +1

ohh yeah.. its coming at $499 :)

    • +1

$499 is the correct price, BA will update the title :)

  • Here’s a HUGE tip for buying cheap PCs.

ALWAYS check if it has fan control. Bought a cheap ryzen 2200g a year ago and was disappointed when it didn’t have any kind of fan control. Always spinning full speed no matter what. And it was meant to be a replacement for an aging laptop for parents. Needless to say, they weren’t happy.

    • +4

What was the build? Almost all motherboards these days should come with at least a CPU fan header and a CHA fan header, both of which will allow some sort of fan speed control via the BIOS. So going cheap generally isn't a problem at all with a bit of setting up.

Curious to know what motherboard doesn't have any sort of onboard fan control headers.

      • They probably mean case fan.

        • Which, when plugged into the CHA/SYS fan header should easily allow for fan control.

  • How do I choose the options with the 9400 ????

    • It has been fixed, I think there were some caching issues

  • Hmm, the 9400 would be good for Blue Iris.

Any thoughts from anyone running blue iris CCTV software?

It will be more then fine. I'm on i7 9700 but with 4 cams and no hardware acceleration it's like 8 to 14% CPU. Won't be issue

      • Yeah I cannot beat this deal, but I ultimately want something very small, like a NUC or mATX

        Great prices, though.

        • I'm in the same boat, the problem is finding something powerful enough in a small package, and for a good price :/

          Thinking of grabbing the 9400

Hi Luke, what graphics outputs are on this stock? Does the i7 do 4k without a dedicated GPU? I want to use displayport or 4k hdmi

    • I'd like to know this too

  • Hey Luke, any chance of seeing another deal similar to the 3500x 580 8GB Deal, I know the current one offering a 3500x and a 1660 is similar but is slightly higher priced.

  • What are the dimensions of the default case? I can't find them on the website?

  • Any idea when will these machines be delivered?

    • Yeh, they're a bit slow. Ordered mine on the 22nd of Feb, still hasn't been posted out yet..
